4 - The Agreement

[Rosie's POV]

“Then give me The Contract Luna,” he said, seriously. “Just like your mom, you have it in your womb too, right? Give me that. And I'll fulfill whatever you want.”

Alpha Charles, he... He knows everything! Damn it! I know he’s the killer!

He knows the secrets of my mother's pack that not even my father knows!

“Rosie... This is serious. The Luna Contract... No one has wanted to do it for a century. It's a terrible agreement! You have to reject it!” Liliana woke up, panicked and trying to get my consciousness.

“I know,” I said, whispering. “If even my mom won't do it, then it's a terrible deal, isn't it?”

The Contract Luna was an agreement between Alpha and Luna that exchange the baby in her womb over a contract agreement.

My mother died without successfully carrying out that agreement. And passed on the power in her womb to me. In other words, I'm the only Luna in this world who can fulfill the treaty.

But Legend says the contract can only be done once in a lifetime. In other words, the Luna who gives up her womb for an Alpha will die after the contract ends.

In exchange for her womb, Luna could ask the Alpha for anything. Even the most impossible requests.

'But even my father doesn't know about that agreement! Alpha Charles... I’m sure he killed Mom because her pack refused his request!

“Alright. I agree.” 

“Rosie! Fool! He's just using you! You can't fall into his trap!” Linda scolded my thoughtless decision.

I know. But Alpha Charles knows secrets about my mom's pack that no one else knows. He must be close to whoever killed Mom. Or if he is the killer.

If that’s true, then then I will just have to kill him.

“Then, let's start this contract.” Alpha Charles pulled out his fangs, sinking his teeth into my neck.

“I, Alpha Charles, reject you from my Mate,” he pledged, with blood on his lips. “From this day, I’m are your Alpha Master.”

“I, Rosie Mauvelous, accept your rejection,” I said. “And from this day forward, I am your Contract Luna.”

Alpha Charles never had this satisfied smile on his face. After biting my neck, the contract had been made. Today, my body officially belonged to him.

“Now that I've rejected you, get out of my sight,” he said, looking at me with deep hatred. “Don't forget. You are my slave, not my Mate. So don't expect sweet treatment from me.”

With that, Alpha Charles threw me out. His room began to fill up with Concubines who entered in turn. As if he didn't think I existed, his gaze turned soft on the Concubines.

“Put your signature here, Miss.” Beta Hesse, showed me the part of the contract paper that I needed to sign.

Alpha Charles, on his bed, silently observing me from a distance. And he, in front of me, was not ashamed to show off his intimate time with one of his concubines.

“If so, hurry up and leave. You are only allowed to visit my chambers without my orders,” he said coldly. 

“I hope you keep your word, Alpha Charles,” I snapped after finished the sign. “I will hand over this body, once you find my mother's murderer.”

“I know. Now, get lost.” He shooed me away, ordering Hesse to take me away from there.

Four beautiful-faced concubines came into this room, joining Alpha Charles on the bed. The second he finished signing our contract, he was not ashamed to show his sexual activity with another Omega.

Surely having me in this contract meant nothing to him, right? But no matter what, I had already grasped his weakness.

Like it or not, he needs me. He won't dump me before getting my womb. And I will use it to attack him.

“Miss. Your next event is the academy.” Hesse waited outside, showing me a large hall on the third floor of this palace.

“Academy? What for?” I replied in surprise. “I've passed all the exams.”

“Starting tomorrow you are required to attend official events as a representative of Alpha Charles' concubines. There are many things you need to learn, Miss,” he replied, politely, yet forcing me into the hall.

There I was seated in a chair facing many musical instruments at once. Piano, violin, bookshelf, blackboard. All were things I needed to learn overnight.

“The exam will start tonight. Are you ready?” A teaching teacher was specially appointed to watch over me.

Piano, violin, no problem. But for the nobility knowledge test paper... The questions made absolutely no sense!

“Who was the first Alpha to successfully claim Luna in this land?” I read the question with a furrowed brow. “What kind of question is this!? Is it important!?”

“Lower your voice!” snapped the teacher. “A Luna should only speak softly. And, that's right. That question is important. Lord Charles' concubines are required to know everything.”

Ah, I know what that means.

Alpha Charles... He deliberately tortured me with these absurd tests, just so he could get rid of me!

I couldn't help but laugh. Does he think he can get rid of me with this damn cheap trick? Not even my father ever won against me playing chess.

“Here. I've filled in all the questions.” I handed the paper to the teacher. They gawked at my ability to answer the questions in a matter of minutes.

And they didn't seem happy with my ability. Once again, they gave me an absurd assignment. Singing by playing two instruments at once.

Once again, I managed to complete it with a perfect score.

“That's bad. Alpha Charles could be mad at us,” the teachers muttered, in front of my perfect score. “She can’t have perfect score like this.”

“The exam isn't over yet.” They didn't seem to have given up on torturing me. “We're taking a break for an hour. Hesse, you keep an eye on this thing.”

The teachers threw me a displeased look. Instead, I smiled with pride after defeating them.

“Good job, Miss.” Hesse handed me a glass of hot tea and praised my exam results. “The Elders' choices are never wrong. You are a talented person.”

“Thank you,” I said happily. This was the first time someone had complimented me. Coming from the Alpha servant I hated so much, it was a mixed feeling. “I just do what I can.”

“And Miss, you need to read this document before lunch. Alpha Charles ordered it.” Hesse suddenly thrusts me into a folder of documents.

My heart started racing again. Something wrong always appears in every document I read. I hope this isn't bad news.

I opened the document slowly. It was a list of agreements I had to make in our contract.

And what the hell is this? The Luna was obligated to accompany Alpha during his mating season? Did it mean I had to spread my legs for him? 

“Luna is obligated to fulfill her duties as an official Concubine?” I muttered, reading the second rule in the contract.

Alpha Charles... He did treat me like a slave! Shit, I didn't think he was interested in this contract.

But he has many Concubines who are much more beautiful than me, doesn't he? There's no way he'd want to lay a finger on Luna from a lowly breed like me. 

The teachers arrived suddenly and snatched the paper out of my hands. “Luna. The exam is canceled. You are required to attend Alpha Charles' chamber. Now.”
