Alex's POV

(…a new ability)

He heard faded stamps and a cold press on the left side of his face. Two slim legs kept sweeping past his blurry gaze. He shut his eyes slowly again. As he flipped it open, Lucia's face came close to his, waving her hands over him as though confirming his state.

Alex lifted his body in a hurry. He remembered his last sight when Lucia gave a mischievous smile,

“ Right about time”, she smirked, walking back towards the tiled counter. “You trust so much in your strength. Sometimes, all you need is a little less pride”

Alex rose to his feet, gaining full control of his body. He felt embarrassed and remained silent. His respect for her had grown after seeing her special abilities in display, wild enough to knock him out.

“Just a drop of this should do”, she remarked, rather to herself.

Alex’s POV(…a raging war)Lucia ran into the bathroom and came out with a damp white towel. She placed it on the Alpha’s forehead as they all watched in horror for the slightest body movement but, there was no response. “We have to call the doctor”, the Luna panicked already dialing the telephone.Alex ran towards her, snatching the receiver from her hands, “We’ve to protect Lucia, mother”, he affirmed, holding her tight in his embrace as she struggled to free her self. His heart broke at the whimpering of his mother and the lifeless body of the Alpha—he could do nothing to save the moment. “You expect me to watch him die?!”, she yelled. “You prefer to watch your father die, Alex?”, she continued her display of grief when Lucia’s voice overpowered hers,“He just moved a finger!”Alex moved towards the bed as the Luna pushed him out of her way. She placed his large palms into hers and began stroking the back of his palm, as though trying to produce heat. The Alpha sneezed loudly a

Alex's POV(…a dangerous escape)“Don’t let him escape!”, Charles voice rang all over the forest from behind as he tried to free himself from the weight of the vehicle above him. Alex who had the special ability to shapeshift at any time transformed into his usual large crimson wolf form and dashed through the woods to catch up with the wolf. It seemed faster than the usual rogues Alex had attacked in previous times. The thickness of the forest trees made it difficult for him to get a clear view of the rogue as it jumped swiftly on tree branches. The clashing metals from the prisoner and the faint smell of the rogue were the only way Alex managed to trace the rogue. His sight was twice sharper than the usual as he scanned through the area in 360 view. He heard a light ruffling of leaves and followed the sound. He got a distant view of the rogue and ran as fast as he could till he was at close range. Immediately he grabbed him by the shoulder and smacked him hard to the ground. The pri

Alex's POV(…a horrible visit) The giant fisted on the grip of the captive as he held on tight to Alex’s neck, who had begun to feel giddy. Alex could only hear the hungry growl of the creature behind him and felt someone pulling his suspended legs. An explosive sound vibrated the walls and he dropped immediately to the cracked floor. Alex instinctively crawled away from the bars as he massaged the sharp pain in his neck. Although the injury closed up almost instantly, he still felt the tightness around his neck. Charles helped him back to his feet as Alex beheld the creature that tried to strangle him to death. The giant had struck him with a temporary shot that made it lay still in its cell. “They can smell fresh blood”, the Giant remarked in a deep coarse voice as he watched Alex. “This particular one”, he pointed at the creature, “has been here for over fifty years. There are other ferocious ones than it but not in this section. Sorry about the attack”, he apologized.Alex nodd

Alex's POV(…a suspicious unfold)Alex froze as soon as she spoke. He made eye contact with the Luna, who gave him a thoughtful look before walking away and leaving him to handle the situation by himself.“You had a fight with the Luna?”, she asked, watching the Luna exit their sight. Alex sighed heavily, trying hard to snap out of the shock. The Luna killed Sherlyn. How improper?“Alex?”, Lucia was forced to wriggle his hands to draw back his attention. “It’s nothing to worry about. The usual mother and son disagreement”, he replied, excusing himself from the scene.“You’re hiding things from me again”, Lucia hissed at the back. “Can’t you just be straight forward for once?”Alex continued his way out without turning around .“You worry too much, Lucia. Give yourself a break”, he responded flatly. She grunted. ***The alpha sat alone at the table, helping himself to a plate of French toast and a cup of coffee smoothie. Alex bowed before pulling out a seat for himself. The Alpha

Alex's POV(…a hidden curse) “Son”, the Alpha called out to Alex from the passenger’s seat—he sat beside the driver, “Are you also of the popular notion that my judgements are too brutal?”Alex thought for a second, before replying, “No, father. I’ve never known you to be partial. Whatever an offender receives from you must have been duly deserved” “I’m surprised to hear that from you. Your reaction to my verdict at the dungeon said otherwise”, the Alpha remarked, returning Alex’s glance in the rare mirror. “We have a pending discussion, son”, since your mother wouldn’t tell me, I’ll love to hear directly from you”Alex’s heart had begun its usual sprint. It happens mostly when the Alpha spoke suspenseful. “If you could remember, during the days of my brief illness, I asked a question. I still await your reply.”Alex was wrong to have thought his father didn’t notice his absence when he was bedridden. He inhaled slowly, to suppress the movement of his panting heart. He had to say s

Alex's POV(…deadly mission)Alex stood in the shower for hours. The distance of the dungeon and its gloom was scary in the day, how much more at night? The Luna had warned him about Sherlyn after saving him from his father’s wrath. Lucia was overly worrisome—she might raise another alarm. Here he was, thinking of another flight—and not just an ordinary flight, the release of a prisoner, for the sake of a banished member. An impossible venture it seemed. He brushed his wet hair countlessly, making frequent bubbles with the streams of water flowing to the parting of his lips.If only the maid hadn’t escaped, he wouldn’t have so much worry. An alternative solution lit in his head. What if he tries to convince the Alpha from killing him to buy him time for a well thought-out plan? But he had no valid reason for such suggestions. It was pointless—he either backs out completely and allow Sherlyn continue suffering for his mistakes or bring more troubles upon himself—he had always blamed h

Alex's POV(…one last mission) As he drew closer, the werewolf began sniffing the air, as though he could pick a scent. Alex paused for a while. It didn’t seem like a regular rogue and its size made him doubt his ability to overpower it. It continued deep into the forest on its four limbs. Alex followed behind, calculating his first move. Although it showed no form of aggressiveness judging by the stealth in its movement, Alex hoped to launch a perfect attack. Alex paused again as it made another piercing howl.Just before it drooped back its raised head, Alex slammed his two fists on its back. Its cry vibrated the silence of the night. It pulled away from the weight of Alex’s body and turned around towards him. Its eyes glowed brighter as it attempted a pounce on him. Alex dodged the attack and decided to switch to his special powers. He zapped its four limbs with the tips of his now-pointy fingers. It fell to the forest grounds immediately, wriggling vigorously. Alex's POV(…a tragic end)He sealed up the place and headed to the extreme ends of the region. He came across a lot of armored vehicles scattered all-over but, linked it to the tight security the alpha spoke about earlier. There’s no greater joy than accomplishing an impossible task. He applauded himself. The increasing convergence of cop cars and hunters around made him drive further away from the region's borderlands till he arrived at a safe spot to discard the rogue without arousing suspicion. He alighted from the vehicle and moved towards the trunk. He didn’t need the potion after all. He opened up the car trunk but froze on the spot after setting eyes on the body. He hit himself severally to confirm his consciousness. It was impossible. A sudden cold filled the whole of his organs from within, as he began to shiver. “That’s impossible”, he kept saying to himself, panting around like a bereaved psychopath. He continued to wander, returning to the trunk periodically as though

I'm glad you picked him over me but, I hope you don't regret your decisions soon. Cheers. Ray.”She smiled at the paper and squeezed it happily into the thrash. She had never regretted her decision. Her mate loved her even more than herself. “It still surprises me how you walked straight to me and said those words. I must have had a great resemblance with a simp. I couldn't hold back my tears,” Jason remarked as they held hands towards the pool. “I couldn't get over your mysterious eyes,”she replied with a chuckle. “What would have happened if I had rejected you instead?““I would be happy for you either ways. Her life was more than perfect, or at least, better than what it used to be. She got an apartment for Ray pending the day of her enthronement as she thought to mark her mate the same night she became the Alpha.“We need to prepare the pyramid grounds and wash it clean. I will be away for a while, Alpha,” Larry announced to her one evening and left. She entered her room and prepared for a good rest. The thoughts of her enthronement has consumed her mind. What if she failed her mission? What If the moon goddess doesn't grant her the title? There was one person she could ring to feel better. She reached out for her phone and dialed Ray's number. They spoke for hours long until it encroached into her sleeping time. There was never a dull moment with Ray. A sharp movement from the outside of her windows distrac

Send him to the dungeon instead,” Arya remarked as she contemplated what verdict she was to pass. Trix had been away for a while, so Arya had been in control of her all along. She made up her mind and commanded, “Chain in down in the dungeons until he dies a natural death.“ The guards, whom she was yet to familiarize with, bowed before her and took out Xavier. She didn't know what to do with Jason yet, so she instructed him to be locked up with his father, until she had decided on what to do. “Congratulations, Meagan. Your mother must be beaming with pride from above,” Arya encouraged as she stared mistly at the

Do you know how powerful I've become amidst other neighboring packs? You must be out of your mind.““I'm out of my mind. I love her, father and I love you too. I can't leave anyone of you. It's the only way to avoid a heated war.““There would be no war if we kill her before her abilities return back and we both know it would be twice her previous power. It's a stupid idea to keep such a threat.““You asked for a mate—”The alpha interrupted, “Yes. I wanted a mate for you, not an Omega. This would never happen. I would rather die of my illness that watch her become the Alpha of the pack.““But, If she becomes my mate, we can both lead the pack. She would be a strong woman. Please, father. She has agreed. This is my one chance to lead a peaceful life like you always wanted. I'll never find a mate in anothe

Meagan's POV(…unexpected accomplice)“Who are you?“ Meagan asked, regretting why she was too weak to find out herself as the now human stranger refused to cease from patting her hair. “I wouldn't reveal my identity until you grant my request. You would want nothing from me if you ever find out but, my wish is that you don't see me as you used to.“Meagan was sure it wasn't Ray but it had a close resemblance to Larry's voice, only with a touch youthfulness and pain. “I'll tell a short story and therafter you can do whatever you want with me, and the baby. You've two minutes to respond,” Jason raged as red spark flew across his watery eyes Meagan was confused. She had no idea of what he accused her of. “Don't give me that innocent look. It's the same crime you're been punished for. I want to know the others involved. You couldn't have done it alone and I'll make sure everyone involved is brought to book. So, start talking.““I was never in your room and I know nothing of your weakness.”“The CCTV coverage found you on the corridor that night. It's pointless to lie to cover up for anyone or do you want to suffer alone? Speak!“Meagan realized she was framed for a different offense she never committed. “I didn't enter your room that night. Life has never been fair to my family,” she concluded as she gulped down the few drops of water she had for the day. “Meagan?“ the man called out as he wore a confused look approaching her slowly. They both held their gaze on eachother as they realized the truth. “Is this really you?“ He squatted in front of her as they both gaped at each other. “How did you get here? How long have you worked with the Alpha?“ She asked as they collapsed into a hug. “Goodness! Meagan. It's hard to believe. Meagan's POV(…Trix reacts)She instinctively looked around her. Jason was truly nowhere to be found. How did the Alpha find out? she asked herself as she made sure there were no traces on the night of her escapade. At first, Meagan tried to comfort herself as she knew it had been impossible for the Alpha to terminate her life because of her powers which Larry attested to. “I kept you alive to breed my pack but you don't deserve to live. You're just like your kind. I should have known better then to keep you alive.“ “Are you just going to sit there without taking actions? If Jason is Ill then the potion Larry talked about is working,” Trix remarked violently as Meagan bowed still, dreading the Alpha's next move. “He can't hurt you, remember? This might be your only chance to get him out of the way and allow the kingdom bow to a new alpha. Do it, Meagan,” Trix ordered as she began to stir her up while the Alpha continued a show of emotional outburst. “Remember Larry said the action de
