Chapter 6

There was a taunting silence as I was given a chair close to him, I looked cold and unbothered,but my insides felt like a roller coaster, the feeling was something more than fear,it was more like respect and curiosity, he had an aura that couldn't go unnoticed in a room of strong gods

“Does the food not delight you”

He said as his deep voice echoed,I clutched to my fork as I suddenly recalled that I should be eating. I stole glances of his extremely handsome face as his striking deep blue eyes seemed deeper than an ocean, it was nothing like Damian’s light blue ones, those haunting eyes still gave her nightmares

“Stop staring”

His deep voice rang into my ear as my face suddenly burned and turned red,I could feel the servants eyes meet stare awkwardly into my soul and the food suddenly tasted bland

“I heard that you were specifically visited by an alpha”

If the hall wasn't pin drop silent before,now it was,the servants quickly lowered their heads as I stared in shock with how fast he found out, then I remembered that I was followed by an inmate, and that probably wasn't the only spy that might have followed them ,his face was cold and unbothered as usual, as he didn't even spare me a glance

“I see you love staring”

He hummed as I looked down again

“It was an unplanned and unexpected encounter,it must have slipped my mind”

I said, my voice was steady and sure,unlike my head

“Unexpected….mmm”

He said and hummed again as if nitpicking my words

“You can leave”

He said as all the servants gave a small bow and nodded in dismissal

Kloss's POV

I saw her heat up at the mention of Damien,and my suspicions were aligning slowly,I knew she had stayed in his chambers and she had been maltreated by his older sister,but there were little to no rumors that she had an affair with him, in fact it was said that when they had an opportunity to meet she had ran off

“Take”

I kept a small red box tied with a black bow on the table and watched as she stared curiously at it

“Your majesty…..”

Her eyes scanned the box and a sudden feeling of alertness that always hovered around her eyes suddenly became stronger,it was like she was monitoring her environment while keeping a calm font,her alertness was something that an ordinary maid could possess

“I couldn't possibly accept this”

She said as a matter of fact as her face features immediately turned sharp

Smiling I took the box off the table as I slowly opened it while monitoring her body movements, her hands moved ever so slightly to her sword as her eyes focused purely on me

Pulling out a ruby necklace, I saw her eyes widen in shock as I placed it delicately in my palm. When I heard that she was attracted to this,I knew for a fact that it was important,so I sent for it immediately,but when I heard the meaning, I was confused,what possibly would attract this mysterious girl to a piece of superstition

“The twilight love pendant”

She repeated as her face was full with shock as I let out a small smirk, I never knew she could be cute

“How did you know…”

She asked in astonishment

“There is nothing special about it's carvings”

I said with a frown, it was a normal ruby that was cut in a heart shape, nothing out of the ordinary, I saw her frown too like she was just realizing the same thing, it was just too expensive for something so ordinary

“I would immediately refund the money to my majesty”

She said as she gave a small bow to me

“Keep it,it was a present anyway”

I said as I dropped it on the table and walked away leaving her perplexed and shocked at the present

The maid helped me button up my robe as she tried not to stare at my chest

“You can leave”

I soas coldly and didn't even spare her a glance

“Call Xavier”

I said as she hurried off immediately

Tapping my hands on the table in front of me,my eyes stared into nothing as I remembered how alert she was,it was contradicting her story and his research

“You called sir”

I heard a deep and quiet voice behind me as I turned to face him

“How sure are you of your information on Shelia?”

I asked immediately as I threw him off guard, this was the first time in decades that I have questioned his research and investigations

Immediately he frowned his face knowing that for me to question it,I had a strong hunch

“Sir… I am almost certain that her background and whereabouts for the past 20 years are at my palm”

He said making me frown even more, something was off,and that was the answer to all his suspicions

“Investigate her again,and this time leave no stone unturned”

I said as my eyes shone in the dark

“Yes your majesty”

Giving a small bow again he hurried off into the dead night

Shelia’s POV

Looking at the ruby pendant for the hundredth time,I couldn't decipher on what was so special about it,my long blond hair was packed in a messy bun as my silver eyes reflected the moon, my eyes as I was told by Damien was the mirror reflecting the heart,and I had a good heart and a clear eyes…not anymore,it was full of anger and desperation,sorrow and unfiltered raw courage

my room was on one of the top floors of the castle, grabbing my sword I shifted a few feet back as I looked up at the moon

‘1…2…3’

I murmured as I immediately jumped the building making a huge thud on the floor, I had too much to do than look pretty in the palace
