Chapter 4

Kloss's POV

The moment I set my eyes on her, I felt a very strong attraction like I had never felt before. Her wolf was white-colored, a very rare occurrence among werewolves. She seemed to have noticed something and looked towards me; our eyes met, and I felt a kind of spark that I couldn't explain.

I knew that I hadn't met her before, so why was I getting such a strong feeling of attraction over someone who was supposed to be an enemy?

She looked panicked all of a sudden and started running. I didn't think much and started pursuing her. I was shocked; she was clearly faster than most of the wolves I had met. How had she achieved such speed?

I immediately felt a strong urge to conquer her. I made up my mind immediately and had to chase with my highest speed. Soon I managed to close in on her and took her down.

Now with her pinned under me, I growled, making my intention known to her. She reverted to her human form, and I was shocked by what I saw. She was so beautiful, like a celestial; her blonde hair and light green-colored eyes were especially outstanding.

I was so drawn to her that I made up my mind on the spot.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Sheila, I'm Sheila," she answered, looking flustered.

"Good, from now on you are mine, Sheila," I declared. Even I was surprised, but I knew there was no going back. My wolf growled as if in agreement with my declaration.

Sheila lay there, shocked. She seemed unable to comprehend what I just said.

"What did you say?" She asked, looking unsure of what she heard.

"You heard me right. From now on, you are mine, Sheila, till death do us part," I repeated.

"What nonsense are you talking? What do you mean I'm yours? You didn't even ask for my consent," she replied angrily.

"Your consent, huh? Sorry, but I always get what I want."

"My Lord, you are here! Thank the goddess you are alright. What are you doing here?" A man ran over; he paused when he saw us. I instinctively covered Sheila's naked body with my figure.

"Bollard, leave here, get one of the females to get two clean sets of clothes, one for a male and the other for a female. Now go," I ordered.

Bollard didn't dare ask questions and left immediately. Soon a female wolf brought two sets of clean clothes before leaving.

"Who are you?" Sheila asked.

I decided to answer honestly.

"I'm Kloss, Alpha of the Northern Tribunal and also king of the northern mountain. What?"

Sheila's POV

Kloss, tyrant of the North. I was surprised that I met him in person. In my past life, I heard many rumors about him, but I never got to meet him. There were lots of stories about him. I was a bit scared now that I learned his identity.

He truly lived up to his name as the tyrant of the North. But what does he mean, he claimed that I belonged to him? Normally, as a captive, I truly belonged to him, but I knew his word had another meaning to it.

He led me to where they are camped. I was very nervous and didn't say many words along the way. He seemed to notice how nervous I was and held my shoulder.

"You don't need to be afraid. I will never harm you; instead, I will protect you with all my life," he vowed.

I knew I can't resist; who am I to resist? Resisting means death. But on second thought, I felt it might be better this way. Perhaps things are not so bad. At the very least, it's better to follow the northern tyrant than to follow the devil king who was so wild and lawless.

"At the very least, Kloss might be a man with principles, but Zulu might even do the unthinkable to me."

"Here's where we will be camping today; we will rest for now and will only move tomorrow morning," he whispered close to my ear. I felt electricity jolt through my body. My face was beet red. The way he was leaning closer to my ear appeared so intimate.

The other wolves in the pack noticed and quickly looked away. Kloss left after that, and his people prepared a tent for me. The tent was nice and clean; I decided to stretch out my limbs a little.

"Are you in, my lady?" I was annoyed; after all that happened today, I really wanted to sleep and stretch out my body. I could only helplessly call out, "Come in."

The tent opened, and a young female, looking around twenty, came in with a tray.

"I brought you food, milady."

"Okay, thank you, but I'm not milady," I corrected her.

"It's better you know. I thought you are already harboring some thoughts of being the Luna. Let me tell you, the Alpha already has a fiancee. Please do not be a stumbling block," she warned.

"Stumbling my ass, did I ever ask your Alpha to like me? Please leave; I don't want to see your face again," I retorted. I was no pushover. At least not everybody can bully me, especially maidservants.

The girl was scared that I might cause a commotion and immediately left the tent. I looked at the food to check if it was poisoned. I could identify poison with my powers just as I can identify potent herbs. I made sure the food wasn't poisoned before I tucked in.

It had been long since I had a good meal, so I was really hungry. After eating, I wasn't feeling sleepy anymore, so I decided to go outside and check out the camp.

The men outside looked at me curiously; they were brazen with their looks. I quickly looked down and walked past them. But I didn't dare walk far lest I might anger them.

The next day, I was awakened by the rustling and bustling in the camp. I went outside and saw that all the tents were already packed up. My tent was the only one standing, making it look awkward.

They were all looking at me strangely. I saw the maidservant from yesterday and signaled to her. She looked a little unwilling but still came forward.

"What's wrong? Why did no one inform me that we are leaving camp?"

"It was the Alpha's order. No one should disturb you; that's what he said. We had to wait till you wake up before we start leaving," she answered in displeasure. It felt very awkward; I wanted to find a hole to bury myself. How can his majesty Kloss be so shameless? I thought.

Throughout the journey, I was blushing; many of them kept looking at me weirdly, causing me to blush all the time. The worst of it, Kloss was nowhere to be seen. Even if I saw him, I wouldn't have the courage to question him.

The others did not appear bothered, but they didn't look friendly, so I didn't dare ask them. As for the girl that served me yesterday, her status seemed really low since she didn't seem to know anything.

After four hours of walking tirelessly, we managed to leave the forest behind and arrived in a small town. I was led to an inn by a man called Bollard. There, Kloss was seated on a chair near the window. He held a silver cup in his right hand, resting it against the window, and appeared absent-minded.

"Your Highness," Bollard greeted with a bow.

I did the same immediately. He nodded.

"You are here, Bollard. I had prepared a room for you, Sheila; the innkeeper will lead you there. Bollard, come over; we need to talk." His voice was firm and authoritative. I could barely stand it in his presence and was grabbed to be let go.

He always looked cold, and he had this aura that scares people. The innkeeper appeared; he was a very chubby man with a large smile on his face.

"Milady, over here," he gestured for me to follow him.

"I'm not milady," I corrected.

"You must be jesting, milady. Lord Kloss asked that the best room in the inn be specially prepared for you. Even he took the second-best room. That shows how much he values you," the innkeeper replied.

What he said surprised me. I had to reevaluate Kloss again. He doesn't seem as bad as the legend depicts him to be.

I decided not to argue any longer with the innkeeper and followed him upstairs. He led me to a slightly large room. It was well-decorated and had the smell of rich perfume.

"There's a bathtub over there," he pointed at an enclosed space covered with red curtains.

"Thank you, Mr..."

"Walker, call me Mr. Walker, and no need to thank me. The room was paid for after all."

"Okay," I didn't argue further.

"Rest well; I will get my people to prepare a meal for you."
