Celina settled into the chair opposite Lily's desk, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.

"Spill the beans, girl!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"Spill what?" Lily replied, feigning nonchalance, as she continued to focus on the file in front of her. "What are you talking about, Celina?"

Celina's grin widened. "Don't play dumb, Lily. I know all about your weekend with Mark. I want juicy details."

"You can't leave anything out! The good, the bad, and even the erotic," she added. "Seeing how Mark was glowing when he returned, you'd think he went to paradise and came back!"

Lily's cheeks flushed, despite her attempts to maintain a poker face. "He did go to paradise," Lily replied with a cheeky smile, making Celina roll her eyes.

"Come on, share!" Celina urged, leaning forward. "How was the trip? Did Mark sweep you off your feet? And, more importantly, did you two take things to the next level?"

Lily sighed, setting the file aside. "Celina, you're relentless.

"What are you doing here?" Lily asked, surprise as she saw Mark stepping out of his car in front of the courthouse."I came to support my beautiful and hard-working girlfriend at her trial," he replied with a cheeky smile. "Can't I be here?" Lily's eyes narrowed her expression to a mix of amusement and annoyance. "You know you can't just show up unannounced. What if the press sees you?""I'm willing to take that risk. Besides, I want to be here for you. You've been stressing about this trial for weeks," Mark replied with a shrug as he got closer to Lily. Close enough for them to feel comforted with each other's scent but far enough for it to look like any regular business partner talking. Lily sighed, her shoulders relaxing slightly. "I appreciate the thought, but you're going to draw attention. This is a high-profile case. Unnecessarily so, since Ryder Technologies publicises it more than expected.""I'm quite curious as to why they are doing something so foolish, but I guess we wi

Lily raised an eyebrow at Julius's sudden request. "Coffee? Now?" she asked, her tone sceptical."Yes, I think we should have a discussion. Outside of court." Julius replied with a forced smile, making Lily more sceptical. Mark's eyes narrowed as he noticed the two conversing, his protective instincts on high alert. He walked up to them, his hands in his pocket, as he stood beside Lily protectively. "What is going on here?" He asked with a raised brow."Oh, Mr. Ryder here was asking for a coffee break," Lily replied calmly. "Then I'll join you two; I need some caffeine boost anyway," he said, his voice firm while he stared daringly at Julius. Julius held up a hand, his brows furrowed together in irritation at the intrusion. "No, Mr Watson, this is between Ms Turner and me. A private discussion.""A private discussion?" Marked echoed. "Did you forget both of you are in the middle of a court trial? Why would you want to have a private discussion with her?""I told you the other time

"So is the dinner offer at your place still on?" Lily teased as they both walked out of the court. "I'm hungry and craving for something made by my loving boyfriend." "Of course it is, and so is my offer for you to move in with me," Mark replied, his lips curling up into a smirk. "I owe you a celebratory dinner. Would you like to go with me or your manager?" "Don't you have other work to do today? There's still a few hours before dinner," Lily pointed out, making Mark scrunch up his nose in disapproval. "I'm avoiding the meeting with the whole Watson's board of directors," he confessed. "Of course, I'm also here to support you. Don't get me wrong. And I'd rather spend the rest of the day with you than spend it hearing those senile old men whining."Lily playfully rolled her eyes at his overreaction. "Oh, my poor baby, avoiding the big bad board of directors? You're a CEO, mister. Can't handle a little heat?" She teased, making Mark chuckle, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Hey,

"It's nice to finally meet you, Miss Lily," William greeted as he stretched out his hand for a handshake.Lily’s eyes flicked to William’s outstretched hand, and for a moment, she froze. Memories of her past life flashed through her mind, crashing against the fragile composure she’d carefully maintained since her rebirth. His voice—smooth and polite—sounded the same as the day she had died. Nothing about him had changed.Well, except for the stress lines on his face. Everything else was the same. His fake smile. Calculating eyes and his overly professional front. Everything was the same, making her feel the urge to poke out the breakfast Mark had painstakingly made for her. Her stomach churned, a mix of anger, disgust, and raw hatred bubbling to the surface. Her hands clenched into fists at her sides, her nails biting into her palms as she fought to control the storm threatening to overwhelm her. She wanted to scream, to lash out, to make him feel every ounce of the pain he had c

{What plans do you have in place to deal with Hamilton?} Lily huffed as the treadmill came to a stop. She picked up a bottle of water from the counter and downed it as she tried to catch her breath. Ever since her first meeting with Henry and Williams Hamilton, she has had to be getting more agitated than usual. Lily wiped the sweat from her brow, her mind buzzing with calculated schemes as she finished the water. She placed the empty bottle back on the counter and stared at her reflection in the gym mirror. The anger in her eyes was a familiar fuel, one she'd grown accustomed to since regaining her memories. Even then, the anger had increased since she met them again. The mere thought of their smug faces made her blood boil.In her previous life, they'd stripped her of everything—her dignity, her dreams, and her very life. But this time, she wouldn’t be the helpless victim."I'm going to take everything away from them; I'll break them piece by piece," she gritted out. "They'd wish

"Who are you?" Lily asked, confused. "Where's Alana?"Lily asked as she walked into Alana's office, surprised to see a dishevelled woman sitting behind the desk, surrounded by piles of paperwork with eye bags covering half of her face.Alana rolled her eyes and let out a sigh. "I'm Alana," she replied dully, making Lily's eyes widen in shock. "Oh dear me!" She exclaimed. "How did you become like this?" "How do you intend to get married in the future when you are already like this at such a young age?" She continued to fuse as she walked close to Alana. The closer she got, the more she realised how much of a mess the whole place had become since the last time she had visited. Not only were takeout boxes and plastic coffee cups littering the whole place but even used tissues were discarded everywhere. "What in the name of disaster happened here?" She asked. Before Alana could reply, the door was pushed over to reveal a similar-looking Avon pushing in a mobile cloth rack. "Even you?"

"Would you like to have lunch with us?" Henry asked, his lips curled up in an inviting smile as his eyes remained fixed on Lily's. "I would love to get to know you better, not the things written on the internet. Those are usually false or exaggerated. What do you say?" Lily hesitated, her lips parting as if to decline politely. "Oh, I wouldn’t want to intrude—""Nonsense!" Henry interrupted, his tone cheerful but firm. "William and I would be delighted to have your company. Right, son?"William nodded with a charming smile. "Absolutely. It’s rare to meet with you in person, Miss Lily. Please, join us."Lily’s gaze flickered between the two; without needing to be told, she could tell they were both up to something evil. But she masked her suspicion with a soft smile. "Well, if you insist... I suppose a quick lunch wouldn’t hurt."Henry clapped his hands together. "Splendid! You won’t regret it."They made their way to an upscale restaurant nearby, the atmosphere exuding quiet luxury.

"The new owner of Ryder?" Henry echoed in surprise. "When did Ryder change ownership?" "Almost a month now," Henry replied. "It's not public news yet, and in that one month, Ryder has swallowed three companies on the same level as itself." "Their expansion rate is alarming; it's like a virus spreading. From the investigation I did, they are moving to the next target soon. And the most annoying thing? Nothing about the new boss could be found." "It's like the authority didn't change. I'm honestly not sure they are the ones targeting my company since I have another suspect." Victor explained."Another suspect?"Victor paused, deliberating whether or not he should give the information since he knew Henry might disagree. However, after a moment of deliberation, he decided to say it, wanting to see if Henry was also in the know. "It's the Greys. I found traces of them during my investigation. Nothing too glaring, but they are also involved."Henry leaned back in his chair, his expressi

"Care to explain what is going on with the production and overall business lately?" Victor Hayes sat at the head of the long conference table in Tristan Freight’s corporate office. The room, usually buzzing with activity, was now thick with tension. His sharp green eyes surveyed his senior staff, each looking increasingly uneasy under his gaze. The sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows cast harsh shadows across the polished mahogany table, adding to the oppressive atmosphere.“Who’s behind this?” Victor’s voice was calm, but his words carried threat and anger. The silence that followed was deafening. No one dared speak as everyone shared subtle glances. Victor’s patience thinned, and his fist slammed onto the table with a loud thud, making several people jump.“Do I need to repeat myself?” he barked. “In the past two weeks, three of our biggest clients have cancelled contracts, shipments have been delayed due to ‘mysterious’ technical issues, and now our suppliers

"Did you think about what I asked of you?" Frederick asked calmly, his hand buried into his pocket as he relaxed against his car. Lily narrowed her eyes, feeling annoyed at his appearance, but she managed a small smile. "What a coincidence; I didn't know you visited places like this, too." Frederick’s lips curled into a confident smirk as he straightened, his suit perfectly tailored and exuding his usual arrogance. “Don’t change the subject, Lily. I asked you a question.”Lily tilted her head, feigning a thoughtful expression. “Oh, you mean that ridiculous proposition about betraying Mark? I’ve been thinking about it.”“And?” Frederick asked, his eyes filled with hope.“And I realised something,” she said, stepping closer, her tone icy sweet as she emphasised the end. “You’re more desperate than I thought. But desperation isn’t a good look on you, Frederick. It’s... pitiful.”The hope in his eyes flickered, replaced by irritation. “I’m offering you an opportunity, Lily. Do you have

"You are looking relaxed and happy. Any good news?" Lily asked with raised brows as Celina walked into her living room. "Of course I am," Celina chuckled. " I'm a lot more free now that the family is busy with preparing for the official appointment of the heir.""It's happening soon?" Lily asked and Celina hummed."It has dragged for too long," she replied. "Everyone knew since Mark became the President of Alpha Tech that he would be taking over as the CEO. The long period of constant battle was for the others to fight for the next best title." Lily leaned back on her plush sofa, a small smirk playing on her lips. "Let me guess—COO or CFO?"Celina nodded, setting down the steaming cup of tea Lily had handed her. "Exactly. The board insisted on announcing all the appointments at once to avoid unnecessary drama, but you know how it goes. Behind closed doors, it's a mess. Alliances, betrayals, bribes—Watson has turned it into a spectacle.""Sounds exhausting," Lily commented, though he

"What did you say?" Williams gritted out as he glared at his assistant. "The delivery from Tristan has been cancelled; they are willing to pay the cancellation fees." The assistant replied with his head bowed, his hand trembling lightly as he prepared for the impact of whatever was coming towards him. Instead, William frowned, his finger holding his chin in a thoughtful expression. "That doesn't make sense; there is no way they could just cancel and pay that huge amount as a contract-breaking fee. It makes no sense whatsoever." William's frown deepened, and his hand slowly dropped from his chin. His piercing gaze locked onto his assistant, who flinched under the scrutiny."Who’s their new client?" William demanded, his voice low and icy.The assistant swallowed hard, sweat glistening on his forehead. "We haven't confirmed, but rumours say it's... Ryder Technologies. They're offering twice the price you negotiated."The room fell silent, the weight of the revelation suffocating. Wil

Your 10 a.m. call with Mr. Hayes has been confirmed. Also, there’s an urgent package on your desk.”Arthur froze. “Package? From who?”Clara shook her head. “It was delivered anonymously this morning. Security scanned it—nothing dangerous.”Arthur muttered under his breath and walked into his office, shutting the door behind him. On his desk was a sleek black box with no markings. He opened it cautiously. Inside was a single photograph. It was a picture of him sitting in the bar last night, phone pressed to his ear. Beneath it was a note:“Careful, Arthur. You’re being watched.”Arthur cursed, crumpling the photo in his fist. This wasn’t Lily—this was someone else.Family competitors?Or someone working for 'him'? Ei
