Third Person POVWhile Alpha Christopher was busy trying not to think about Millicent but failing miserably, as he went insane with his need for her, missing her terribly and torturing himself for not being smart enough to know what she had planned and stopping her, Alpha Sylvester was doing almost the same. The news that he had murdered Millicent's parents for nothing kept weighing on his mind. He recalled Millicent's words, 'You murdered an innocent man and his pregnant wife and I shall never forgive you for that!'The thought of how he had maltreated her when she was a maid, kept replaying in his mind. When he thought about that time, he shuddered at the beast he had been. How could he have been so blinded by rage that he had not cut her any slack? And recently, he had almost raped her. Was there no end to the list of his atrocities against her? How then did he expect her to love him. All these were bothering him because his love for Millicent had increased since hearing of her f
At the grave stone of her parents, Millicent wept, reliving again the events that took place in her pack, eleven years ago.'I shall bring you justice!' she said as her tears dropped on the grave. 'I shall make sure, Sylvester and any other person responsible for your deaths pay for this. I shall avenge you! she howled loudly, looking up as she howled the vow. After that she stood and Cara walked her back home.'Don't you want to see the pack?' she asked.'Not now!' Millicent said, bitterness in her heart. Old wounds had just been reopened.'Good decision! Remember the vow you just howled to your parents and do not grow faint in it's execution', Cara advised. 'Also, there is a lot more I have to tell you. Things that you are not aware of but should know. I shall tell you when you come back victorious from the attack on Sylvester', she called the name like it was a bitter taste in her mouth.'I shall be back and I shall expect you to tell me all that you know!' Millicent said not sou
Alphas Christopher and Sylvester were having a meeting with the Chief and the council of elders, when a gamma rushed in with a shocking announcement!'My Alphas, Chief, Elders, we are under attack!'At once, everyone stood and the Alphas howled the battle call, to alert the other warriors who may not be aware of the attack. Then taking their weapons, they rushed out.'Who is the fool who dares to attack the Moon Ville pack?' Alpha Sylvester howled.'Who have we offended this time?' Alpha Christopher thought. 'Has Alpha Blake got wind of the fact that I have found out his secret and therefore decided to attack us before we attack him? 'Well, only one way to find out!' he said aloud as though in response to Alpha Sylvester's question. They rushed to the battle zone and there he was, Alpha Blake like Alpha Christopher had suspected. They had already started fighting the warriors, after getting in with Millicent's influence.'You can let us in, we are here to meet with the Alphas. There i
'Christopher! My love! Stay with me!' she said, smiling encouragingly, though her heart was aching terribly. 'What have I done?' were the words that kept screaming in her head.Christopher looked at her and nodded. 'My Luna!' he breathed, lifting his hand to touch her cheek.Millicent sniffed back the tears that seem to be choking her. All the same, a single one still escaped and slipped down her cheek into Christopher's hand where it still rested on her cheek and he wiped it from her cheek tenderly. 'I knew you would come back to me!''Of course, why wouldn't I? Nothing could keep me away from you!' she choked, sniffed and added, 'Why did you have to allow yourself get injured?''My brother would have suffered the hit if I had not saved him. It was my duty as the elder twin to protect him!'Millicent nodded. Christopher was so honourable but she wished he had not been hit. She looked at the spear protruding from his side and reached a decision. 'This is going to hurt but it is better
Millicent's POV I did not wait to hear or see more. I had heard enough, and I was not shocked nor shaken that I had a taken a life. It was my first and I knew it should have a significant impact on me but I just felt numb. It was another life that set my heart thumping and I knew I had to get to him, to my love - Christopher. So I ran like I had never done before. I needed to be with Christopher. Oh Christopher my love! I felt fear clutch my heart like a merciless hand, squeezing and nearly choking me. Now that I had killed Blake, the snake who caused all this misunderstandings in the first place and who had used me to injure Christopher by reason of my involvement in this senseless battle, the fight went out of me and I felt drained, but the thought of Christopher's condition, and the terrible fear in my heart for his life, gave me the needed strength as I ran.I started praying as I ran, 'Oh, Moon Goddess, do not allow Christopher to die'. Then unbidden the words the elders said c
Sylvester's POVAfter listening to Blake as he confessed to his sins, I felt a heavy burden settle in my heart. I twisted the spear which Millicent had used to end his life and brought it down, cutting him sideways almost in two.It did not relieve my pain but I felt a bit calmer. I looked around for Millicent but she had disappeared like the wind and I knew she was running to be with Christopher.I came at a more leisurely pace, so I could give them time to be with each other. I wanted to know how he was faring. I hoped that the spear did not damage any internal organs.Christopher's act of love had really done something to me. I didn't know if I would have done what he did but I sure as hell was not going to allow that sacrifice go to waste.I got to where the battle took place and realised that our attackers had carried off their dead. And my warriors were carrying those still alive into a place where the doctor could attend to them, while covering with sacs, those who had died whi
Millicent's POV After Christopher's demise, I went into shock, I'll stare off into space, for hours and this went on for days.Samantha tried to reach me, speaking and telling me lots of things but I was not interested. I was like a zombie, not really aware of my surroundings.'Millicent', she would say, trying to penetrate my consciousness. 'Eat something, please, for your health. I prepared this myself, specially for you. It's your favourite'. She held my hand, squeezing, 'The medicine the doctor has been giving you requires that you eat!' she added. 'You still have those who need and love you around. You are the only family I have left. Did you ask me back here so I can grieve once more if I lose you?'Suddenly, she let go off my hands. And I heard a deeper voice. 'You should know Samantha, that Millicent thinks that if she punished herself long enough, Christopher will be brought back to life', it was Sylvester. 'She knows she is to blame for all this. And no starving nor pret
Sylvester's POV I was getting really worried, Millicent seemed to have gone off into space. Don't misunderstand me, she was physically present, but everyone could see she was not really there. I'd had a series of meetings with the chief and elders who had insisted on seeing Millicent and I had kept putting them off, telling them, she was not up to it yet.'When will she be up to it then?', the chief asked. 'We are all pained by the loss of Christopher. She is acting as though she is the most affected!''But she is!' I snapped, 'He was her fated mate and the one she seemed determined to chose over me', I paused, 'Christopher had even claimed her before his demise!''Oh, is that so?' one of the elders intoned, pulling on his beared, his face creased in thought.'If that's the case, then she needs a little more time but this cannot linger forever. We have to speak to both of you!' the chief emphasized, 'The fate of the pack depends on it'.'What you want to say cannot be said to just me
