The Former Luna's pov

I stood at the doorway of Axel's office. He had a woman dangling in the air, with one hand around her throat. She was clawing at his hand to release her, but he didn't budge. He was yelling at her, but I couldn't hear what he was saying, I was too focused on her face turning blue from lack of oxygen. All I could hear was my heart beat booming in my ears. I have never seen Axel like this before and it was beyond terrifying. His brows were furrowed together, his teeth clenched, veins popping out of his forehead.

I don't know how I ever had a connection with a man that could be capable of this, it was like making the same mistake over again.
