The princess was attached to the Demon Lord.
There’s no point pursuing her anymore. Kieffer shook his head as he looked at the two people trying to hide their feelings to each other. They must be thinking that the other won’t reciprocate their feelings but seeing them being together was painful than he thought.
What should I do now. I came here too late, Just recalling the day she hugged the Demon King on her own accord and in front of him was painful enough but now they’re flaunting the lovey-dovey atmosphere in front of him more. It seems like a warning that no one is allowed to go between them.
Kieffer ah…
It looks like your unrequited love cannot be recognized. It’s time to give up. No, not yet. Kieffer clenched his fist. It’s not over yet, the princess lost her memories and when the time comes she finally recalled everything…
She’ll come back to me.
Kieffer finally walked away from the garden. It’s painful seeing you happy with someone other than me. It hurts so much that you can’t even remember me. You can’t even remember the things we did, the time we spent together and everything that we’ve been through in the past. Hey, don’t you know it too…
It’s clear as day that I’m the one who captured your heart. I’m the one you love so why are you happily staying beside him now. Am I merely a thing of the past now?
The brokenhearted man finally left. He really can’t stomach seeing his beloved happy by someone else arms.
On the contrary, the demon king was delighted.
It was a first time she initiated a conversation between them. It’s the first time she smiled warmly to him. It’s the first time he felt like she love him too. All of this seems like a dream that he don’t want to open his eyes, afraid that everything will fade as soon as he woke up but reality is better than he thought.
Everything is real, her sweet smile is real, and the person is clearly beside him. If this was a dream then it wouldn’t be this vivid. Xegris was dazzled by the thought that he almost drift into the clouds.
“Hey”
A soft voice called out to him. He slowly turned his head as a warm smile welcomed his gaze. Hellion tapped her fingers on the table as she stared at the Demon king who seems to be in a dazed.
“It’s rare seeing you blankly staring into space. Are you daydreaming Your Majesty?” Hellion said as she rolled her eyes in annoyance.
This man has been out of it for a while now. He’d stare at her then smile then he’d furrowed his brows like he was in a deep thought then frown again. She really don’t know what’s going on in that head of his. Hellion clicked her tongue and leaned towards the table.
“I don’t know what happened to me but I seems to recall everything about you.” She said in a careful voice.
Xegris silently look at her for a moment and smiled bitterly. “Your memories…is it that precious to you?”
Hellion furrowed her brows and just said in an obvious tone. “Of course, it’s very important. I can’t even imagine what my past is like, it’s hard being in the dark without knowing a thing or two about myself you know..”
Hellion then scratched her cheeks and continued. “I mean I don’t even know my name. You always call me an ‘airhead’ so it’s kinda irritating to listen to.”
Xegris was silent for a while. If she’d know that I’m the one who took her memories… What will happen then?
“Your name…” Xegris stared at her face.
Hellion just looked at him innocently as the hint of anticipation gleamed on her eyes. Her name, should he tell her? But if he did she’ll get suspicious for sure. What if everything he’d done will go to waste. He don’t want everything to go wrong. Without her, he’d never know how to live anymore. She’s mine, I have her by my side but if I told her the truth, this reality would shatter and she will probably leave him without a second thought.
And Xegris don’t want that. Everything has been perfect for him now and if he let her go, he’d probably turned crazy. Xegris frowned. It’s hard to bear the thought of her leaving his side after all this time.
“What is it?”
Hellion raised her brow at him. Why is he taking too long to answer? Was her name that hard to say? She really just want to know her name, with that she could probably trace her identity bit by bit and recalled everything. Hellion sighed, if only she had a clue then this wouldn’t be too hard for her.
But, will he really say her name? Hellion glanced at Xegris with suspicion in her eyes. This jerk has the courage to lie and he’d probably brush off the thought of telling her the truth so what’s the point expecting from him? Hellion smiled sadly.
Xegris sighed. After thinking deeply for a while he finally made up his mind. She probably won’t recognized herself anyway so giving her the answer won’t be that much of a problem.
“You’re name, do you really want to know it.” He asked in a serious tone.
Hellion just raised her brow and snorted. “Why can’t you tell me? Is it too hard for you to say such a simple thing? I’ve been living by your side after all this time. You know me but I don’t even know a single thing about you and now you won’t even tell me my name?”
She then inhaled deep and said. “If you want me to keep being your child’s mother then at least tell me the truth. It’s just a name. It’s not too hard of a request don’t you think?” Hellion simply let out a thin smile as she stared at him with great anticipation in her eyes.
She’s getting sharper by the day. If he lied to her then she’d clearly resent him regardless. Speaking the truth wasn’t too hard but if everything would go down the grain because of that then he would never allow it. It took a long time getting her to stay so if she suddenly felt like leaving then he wouldn’t know what to do. Xegris inhaled deep.
For now he’ll try to earn her trust…
Xegris just sighed and met her gaze. He then opened her mouth and said in a serious tone.
“Your name, it’s Hellion.”
Everything seems to be vague and blurry. Who’s that person shouting in front of me? Hellion wrinkled her brow in her sleep. She seems to be dreaming of the past but why is the scenery so hazy. Hellion tossed and turned on the bed. Her head was suddenly filled with noise. Someone’s screaming inside her brain and why is that voice so familiar to her? Is it someone she knew? Hellion furrowed her brows even more as the conversation started to speaking in her head. ‘Do you really value your life so little that you even wanted to die?’ exhaled the person looking at her, Her face was blurry and unidentifiable making Hellion confused. ‘We have no choice’ She heard her own voice. ‘What can we do? We’re bound to separate anyway’ Is she really the one who said that? What’s up with this dream? Hellion slowly opened her eyes and sat up on the bed. She held her head that’s been throbbing for a while and finally looked ahead. She’s in the room and it’s about time the sun should rise up in the sk
“Yo~” Kieffer waved his hand to his pal. Xegris just gave him a resentful glare aa if already driving him away. What is he still lingering here for anyway? He should hurry up and scram to his own realm so that he could disappear in his sight. “What? You’re still not leaving?” Xegris said in an annoyed tone as he stared daggers at him. “I am, just wanna say my goodbyes to my own pal.” Kieffer just smiled ad usual at him. However it can be seen that his eyes were filled with sadness and envy. “Haaah…then go away. Your existence is not needed here.” Xegris bluntly replied. “Well, take care of her. She loves you doesn’t she? If you hurt here then I won’t hesitate to take her away.” “You-“ “See ya.” Kieffer just said as he finally turned his head and walked away from him. “….” —• “Shlnk” The troops halted in front of the empty field. Jeulle walked towards the seemingly barrier-like atmosphere and finally held out her palm to touch the surface. Heh. It seems she finally found the
“What’s wrong?” Dev instinctively looked up the sky as the swirling black clouds formed into the center. The fog thickens as the atmosphere turned bleak as if a warning that a calamity is about to reign upon them. It looks like the time of judgement has come. The feared revelation finally knocked on their doorsteps. The trio surveyed the clouds as a tacit understanding lead to them vanishing into a thin smoke. In the crow forest, the demon girl appeared. The trees that wilted and dried up are now drenched in fresh blood. The crows on the branches let out a cry of joy. It seems like they are in a feast with many corpses laying in the ground. Dev wrinkled her brow as she instantly activated her clairvoyant spell. It took a moment before she finally saw what happened before her. A thousands of troops marching towards the bloody mountain as the whole army was led by a person who look exactly like the Demon Queen. The demon gasped as the fear in her eyes flared. This is clearly an inva
“Jewel, we found nothing in the palace. Your sister must have been move somewhere else.” Elaine said in a ragged breath as she flicked away the sweat on her face. Jeulle shoved off the demon in front of her as she pulled off the sword from its gut. She then turned her head towards the elf and said in amicable tone. “Gather everyone. We’ll head in to confront the Demon Lord.” “But-“ Elaine said hesitantly as she reached out her hand to her. “Just do as I say!” Jeulle yelled not letting her refute at all. The soldiers finally gather around and disperse to fetch the others. Jeulle stared at Elaine who was now looking at her with full of worries. This girl, she really worry too much. “Don’t worry, I’m not gonna die yet.” She reassured her with a gentle smile. The two then leapt towards the innermost hall as the res curtain swing gently around the whole room. ‘A bridal chamber?’ Jeulle wrinkled her brows as she walked inside the room with hint of doubt and bad premonition in her hea
Hellion tilted her head as she intently stared at the innkeeper. Her gaze fixated on that pointy ears perking out of her head. It’s moving! Hellion’s eyes beamed and reach out her hand aiming to touch the rabbit lady’s ears. The rabbit sensed her intention and frighteningly back off. Hellion stared at her anxious face. Eh? “D-d-dear Costumer, W-what can I help you with?” The rabbit anxiously asked her as she pulled her ears down. Hellion blinked her eyes and said. “ Can I touch those?” She pointed her finger on her ears expectantly. The rabbit shook her head and drilled herself on the wall. Hellion retracted her arm, disappointed. Xegris then appeared behind him and glanced at the trembling rabbit lady. He sneered at Hellion and then pulled his attention towards the innkeeper. “We’d like to check out.” He said
The room was intricately decorates with a crystal ceiling, a soft cushion seat and a luxurious tea table between the elegant couches. Kieffer put down the cup on the table as he look at the people lazily leaning on his seat. “How is she?” Kieffer asked as he crossed his arms. Xegris just smiled at him and didn’t speak. He then sat up straight and pour himself a cup. Kieffer silently stared at him and just sighed. “You didn’t torture her that much right?” Kieffer then glanced at him and took a sip on his cup. Xegris chuckled and simply said. “She merely thinks I’m the one who saved her. Funny isn’t it?” Kieffer paused as he looked at him with doubt and raised his brow. “How come?” “I just killed the pest.” “Oh.” Well it’s best if she thinks that way. It would be easier. Kieffer thought then leaned back
The faint creaks of wood and the often cacophony of the water trickling as she paddle away in silence was the only noise Hellion could hear. Xegris was still deep asleep and she’s been rowing the both for how many nights now. It was their fourth day being castaway in the vast ocean. Hellion survived eating those raw fish she painstakingly tried to catch with her own hands while Xegris only sleep like the dead on the boat’s cabin. He never woken up even once as if he was extremely exhausted. She was doing all the work so how come he’s that tired! He’s not even moving an inch! Hellion would casually glare at him and sometimes smack his navel with the paddle but so far he’d only glare back and go back to sleep looking all helpless and pale. She even thought that Xegris must be seasick but he only sneered at her and stubbornly said he’s not. Hellion just snorted and believed that it was the case.
“Where is this?” Hellion asked as she glance over the dead trees on their way. The tree trunk was dark and withered, there’s no leaves on the branches as if the whole forest was cursed with drought. Hellion silently followed the man in front of him and decide not to say another word. It must be like the last time they travel across a forest and got attacked by wolves. She herself, knew she don’t want to experience that again. And thus she followed him quietly. They walked in the coarse soil as the ground was painted with cracks and footsteps can’t even be print to remember their tracks. Hellion felt bad, her face was sewn into a frown. Are they gonna hide here? This would be a perfect hiding spot as it was a barren land but surviving won’t be easy. She collapsed after a few days of not eating and what about the time they are to stay here without water or so?
