The cake

Carolina stood up from her bed, she tried to open the door again but it didn't budge. How could Connor be this harsh towards her? It's been hours since they returned home and since then, she has had nothing.

Her throat felt dry and patched, she needed water to quench her thirst. She cursed at Connor again, wishing she still had her old life. She missed school and badly wanted to return.

She curled in a fetal position on her bed as she sulked, too sad about how her life had turned out to be. She heard the sounds of plates crashing and then the voice of Connor yelling at someone.

Carolina ran to the door and listened hard. She assumed he was shouting at a servant and wondered why.

She thought of banging the door again to gain his attention but thought against it.

"What if he's still mad at me?" She thought and sighed defeatedly.

Tears clouded her vision as she walked back to her bed.

She lay flat and began to sob softly. Little by little, her soft sob turned into a hysterical cry as
