Carolina's jaw dropped as she stared at Liliana in bewilderment.
"You must be kidding, right?" Carolina scoffed while Liliana eyed her from head to toe.
"I am not kidding, why would I joke with someone who is a joke!" Carolina leaned back a bit with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Is it just I or you are exceptionally rude?" Carolina retorted, infuriating Liliana who was on the verge of exploding in anger.
She couldn't decipher how Carolina had the audacity and effrontery to talk back at her and most especially, she couldn't understand what Connor saw in someone like Carolina.
To Liliana, Carolina was someone crude and classless and she wasn't even who doesn't even deserve to stand before her. The more she stared at Carolina whose eyes were a flicker of rage, the more she felt the wave of anger rushing inside of her.
Silence pervaded between Carolina and Liliana as they both stared daggers at each other. Liliana decided to break the silence as she cleared her throat before deciding to speak.
"As you heard earlier, I am Connor's fiancee and I don't care if you had a one-night stand with him or if you are nothing but a fling to him, the only thing I want you to know is that get out of this place"
Carolina gaped at her in silence. Even without Liliana not telling her to leave, Carolina would be pleased to get out of Connor's house but she felt the need to return the vibes she got from Liliana because she couldn't just wrap her head around her rudeness.
Maybe she shouldn't blame Liliana and maybe she should blame Connor who brought her into his house despite having someone he was betrothed to. However, the more she kept her eyes fixed on Liliana, the more she couldn't stand her rude behavior.
"I think you should have a word with Connor, instead of trying to pick a fight with me" Carolina rolled her eyes to the back, lowering her head in a sarcastic way that didn't help the situation but instead, it worsened and aggravated Liliana's anger.
She was about to turn back when Liliana charged towards Carolina, slipping her hands through her hair as she grabbed a fistful of it and jerked her backward with her hair.
"Repeat what you said! You bitch" Liliana screamed at the top of her lungs as she grabbed another fistful of Carolina's hair till she winced in pain.
Trying to dislodge Liliana's fingers, Carolina dug her sharpened nails into Liliana's fingers till blood seeped out of them. Despite the jarring pain that Liliana felt, she endured the pain and didn't release her tightened grip on Carolina's hair.
No pain caused by Carolina was worth the pain and betrayal she felt in her heart.
"I am going to kill you, I am going to kill you for ruining my life and thinking that you can take my place" Liliana gritted her teeth against each other as her eyes reddened with tears glistening in them.
The only thing she wanted to do was to skin Carolina alive and throw her out of the house.
Carolina saw how determined Liliana was and even though she contemplated fighting back against Liliana, she shoved the thoughts aside and decided to use the tussle between the two of them to her advantage.
She wished Carolina knew how much she didn't want to be here and how she was here against her will. Instead of trying to appease Liliana, Carolina blurted out cuss words in a bid to infuriate Liliana more.
"You fucking ogre, why not tame your man instead of picking a fight with me"
Triggering all her senses with the cuss words, Liliana screamed, releasing her grip around Carolina's hair as she pushed her to the ground, almost causing Carolina to hit her head against the flower vase.
Scuffling her hands through her hair in anger, Liliana searched her eyes around the room till her gaze fell on Carolina's luggage. An evil smile crept at the corner of her lips as she slipped her heels off her foot.
"I am going to throw you out of this house today!" Liliana groaned, sauntering to Carolina's luggage.
Carolina expelled a sigh of relief because Liliana was doing what she had expected her to do. She couldn't explain the excitement building inside of her as she watched Liliana kick her luggage to the floor. A maid who watched the commotion between Carolina and Liliana rushed towards Carolina, helping her to her feet.
Connor was starting to get impatient as he kept tapping his fingers on his thigh in anxiety. He peered out the window and expelled an exasperated sigh because of the traffic.
"What's going on now?isn't there another route?" Connor grunted as he glanced at his wristwatch.
"There isn't any other way and the traffic should subside soon, please be patient Alpha Connor" Jack glanced at him through the rear mirror.
In a fit of rage, Connor snarled at him as his eyes blazed with fury.
"I should be patient. I should be patient till Liliana snatches the soul out of Carolina?"
Jack ducked his dead as he apologized to Connor who shut him up instantly.
"Not another word from you!"
He dipped his hands into his pocket, bringing out his phone as he dialed a call through Liliana for the umpteenth time. He pressed the phone against his ear, waiting for her to pick up the call but when she didn't answer, a growl escaped his lips as he tossed the phone by his side.
He tried reaching everyone in the house but none of them picked up his call.
Liliana's heartbeat increased rapidly with her heart rising and falling steadily as she shot the maid who held Carolina a glare. The maid gulped, taking a step backward.
Liliana rushed toward Carolina, gripping her by the arm as she pushed her to the ground, causing her to hit her head against the luggage.
"Get out of here, you mentally deranged woman" Liliana screamed.
Carolina stood up in anger, raising her hands as she attempted to land a slap across Liliana's cheek but a voice that sent chills down her spine left her hands hanging in the air.
"What's happening here!" Connor roared.
Carolina was surprised, she squinted her eyes open to see that she was close to the water but not too close for the Crocs to jump and attack her. She took her eyes up and saw someone running hurriedly towards her. He controlled the leveler and it took her away from the Crocs that were still waiting for her beneath the leveler. Carolina was speechless as he watched the man try to unchain her hands, "Someone came to save me? Unbelievable!" She exclaimed in her mind, her heart gladdened. The man's face came into view and Carolina's brows furrowed, "Uncle Gregory?" She uttered, staring at the man in confusion. "That's right Carolina, it's me" he returned and pulled off the chain locs with so much force that it broke open. "I came to save you and to as well warn you to stay safe. Liliana is alive, I'm sure about this because she is the one that has put you in this position. To kill you off" Mr Gregory added, helping Carolina out of the leveler. He looked like he truly wanted to he
Carolina was convinced that Jackson has a hand in the kidnap because why else did he insist on seeing me even after I had tried to make him understand that I couldn't? She could feel her face turning red in rage as she figured out that it was all his plan to have her killed. He betrayed her! Carolina could not believe he would do something like that to If she had known that such a turnout would have come about someday, she would have let Connor kill him that day he was abdu Carolina's thoughts were cut short when her legs wobbled dangerously again. She looked down at her feet and noticed that she had gotten closer than she was to the murky wa The crocodiles beneath snapped their sharp teeth at her and she released a loud frightful yell. Her voice pierced through the silence around the vici Did anyone hear her at all? Carolina prayed that someone at least She closed her eyes tightly and when she opened them, her eyes fell on something that looked sort of like a heap of clot Scra
"And what's that about?" Alpha Connor asked, out of curiosity. "I have offended you gravely and I am really sorry about that. Actually, Liliana sent Helen and I to you, so we can destroy you from within, but after being together like this, as if we are friends, it made me realize how much I missed you and how deep my offence is." Hadrulph apologized, then knelt before him. "Forgive me, friend. I really want to leave here, soon and I can't, without my pup, because he is still alive. I will appreciate it if you devise a plan to save my pup and then tell her that you got whiff of our plans and then you have gotten rid of us. Once I have my pup, neither I or my family will show their face." Hadrulph said as a tear fell from his eyes, to the ground. Alpha Connor who had already gotten wind of their plans was not shocked, but he was surprised that Hadrulph would actually turn a new leaf just after this experience. ~ "Wow. So he confessed?" Carolina exclaimed, with her eyes, bulging out.
“So, how did it go? Did they buy your lies?” Liliana asked, impatiently. “Yes, they did. I guess Connor still trusts me as a friend.” Hadrulph said, with a smirk. “Are you certain that we are safe, playing this game?” Helen asked, feeling frightened. “As long as you do not get caught before you strike.” Liliana said as she used her index finger to raise Helen’s chin. “And Connor will not get a whiff of what’s going on until we hit him hard and it is too late for him to strike back.” Hadrulph smiled, feeling ready to take Connor down, bits by bits. “Good. I love that zeal and confidence. You can both leave.” Liliana said, with a smile on her face. The next day, Alpha Connor mind-linked Jack to come over. When Jack got to Alpha Connor’s house, Alpha Connor came out with Carolina. “Let’s go to the villa.” “Alright, Alpha.” Jack drove them to the villa and then they all gathered in a circle. “Now, here is the update. Hadrulph visited Carolina and I, yesterday and they claimed to
Alpha Connor woke up with sweats breaking out and then he went to the sitting room to drink water and calm down. Carolina on the other hand was having a dream as well. It seemed those moments were affecting them as well. ...The dream... Carolina's eyes widened as the realization of how dangerous her environment was flashed at the back of her mind. "How did I even end up here? Who brought me down here? What exactly happened?" Carolina asked rhetorically, staring inside the murky water covered with a herd of hungry crocodiles just beneath her. She felt the surface she was standing on wobble and reduce in height, her heart palpitating in so much fear. Carolina staggered slightly but didn't fall because of the chains that were used to securely hold her hands above her head so that she would not free herself. She tugged violently at the chain but it did not show any sign of coming off soon instead she felt very weak on the inside. It was so weird to her because Carolina could rec
Connor and Carolina were watching a movie when they heard a knock from the door and Connor went to open the door and was shocked to see Hadrulph and Helen. "What are you both doing here?" He asked, with his right eyebrow, raised and didn't want to bother about Helen who was said to have been held hostage and sick. Hadrulph and Helen were both nervous and unsure of how to start. Hardulph was the first to speak. “We came to apologize.” Hadrulph said and cleared his throat. “Apologize? I do not understand what is going on.” Alpha Connor said, looking baffled and staring at them with distrust. “Can we just come in?” Hadrulph asked, looking innocent. Alpha Connor was reluctant to allow them to come in, but Carolina signaled to him that it was fine, so he allowed them to come in and they sat on the couch, but Alpha Connor did not offer them anything. “Now, what do you have to say?” Alpha Connor asked, with his arms, folded. “I just want to apologize for my actions. To be honest, I
