Amarah looked out from her window and stared down as the pack members started to gather around the open grounds on the much-awaited night of The Transformation Ceremony. She watched with bitterness in her when she caught sight of the members that will be transforming. They are now garbed in their grey with silver lining robes and the scholars in charge of overseeing them are checking on them one last time to make sure that they are in order.
They all looked eager, excited, and proud.
She heard a knock on her door, and she opened it a bit.
“Ella,” she said warmly, remembering the girl she had helped one time at the mess hall. She opened her door wider, and the girl immediately went inside, bringing a tray of food for her. “You didn’t have to do this.”
“Alpha Clayton gave instructions to have a special dinner made for you,” Ella answered formally. “Please do let me know if you need anything else, Ms. Amarah.&r
Amarah finally pulled away from her grand uncle’s embrace and took a step back, looking up at him and feeling relief sweeping through her body.“Good to see you looking well,” Gabriel commented seriously. “Are they treating you well there?”“Most of them,” she answered softly.“You don’t lie well, Amarah,” he responded with a slight stern look. “Your father should have thought you how to lie naturally. Do you have the pendant with you that I had Kate given to you?”She nodded as she showed him the cloth bag.“I can only identify the moonstones,” she said softly as she placed it on her palm. “What are these other seven stones?”Gabriel took it from his hand, looking at it wistfully.“Stones that will assist you in having a deeper connection with your wolf,” he finally answered. He looked at her calmly. “I don’t know i
Clayton gripped Amarah’ s upper arms tightly, pushing her towards the wall on one side of her room. He looked down at her angrily, his temper getting the best of him as he recalled the dread that took over him when he destroyed the lock of the door to her room and found it empty. The moment the Transformation Ceremony was done, he spent an hour with his members as the pack gave them a party in celebration of their transformation before excusing himself to go to Amarah and spend the rest of the night with her. He felt his heart tugged when he managed to look up as the ceremony was starting and saw her looking out at her window and gave him a short wave. Before he transformed into Kragen, he looked up again and only saw a dimly lit room from her window, guessing she must have decided to sleep. However, when he knocked on her door and didn’t get any response from her, he immediately kicked the door open, his heart beating furiously and in fear, millions of things runnin
Clayton handed Liam back all the reports and payables he had signed the following day. He leaned back on his chair and rubbed his eyes, trying to remove the sleep he barely got from sleeping beside Amarah.“From what I know, I’m the one who should be doing what you’re doing,” Liam drawled with a grin, closing the door of the office after handing out the documents to a waiting member outside. He took a seat across from him. “What’s going on, man? You didn’t stay up late last night at the party. And, when I got home, I was the one who fed Logan.”“I slept with Amarah,” Clayton replied calmly.“Congratulations, then,” Liam immediately replied. “Shall we be expecting a wedding, soon?”Clayton gave his good friend a dark frown. “We just slept, that’s all. Or more like, she was the only one who had a good sleep,” Clayton snapped lightly. “If I let Kragen
Clayton stared at the old man coldly, not liking the insult thrown his way.His anger immediately rose since knowing a part of his story that personally involves his grandmother, who he had always cherished in his heart. He still could not accept the revelation that the man standing in front of him was his grandma’s mate.“You look well enough,” Clayton scoffed dryly, and he was immediately flanked by the three behind him. He studied the old man’s posture and immediately knew he was not there for any trouble. But he stayed cautious, certain that he might do something given his trait. “Very well enough to be under the radar.”“In the days of old, Alpha, we never rely on others to do the job for us. We trust no one and always rely on ourselves,” Gabriel answered with a look of disappointment thrown at their way. He looked at the three, who are protecting their Alpha and only chuckled, and then looked beyond them, nod
Amarah clutched her backpack tightly as she stood on Clayton’s living room and watched as the two Omega’s brought her luggage to one of the guest rooms inside his house. She looked out and saw Clayton talking with Matt and Lily.Matt looked angry but Clayton paid him no attention. She thought back a few hours ago when Clayton suddenly approached her while she is tending to an eight-year-old boy’s wound. After completing the treatment with the boy and instructing his mother on the care procedures, Clayton automatically pulled her inside the center and pushed her towards one enclosed cubicle.“Clayton, what are you doing?!” She asked frantically.Clayton only pulled her in his arms and kissed her hungrily, muffling her words and wrapping his arms around her possessively. He pushed her gently towards the wall for support as he continued to kiss her.“I miss you,” he whispered, pulling away breathlessly.
Gabriel Saville closed the main door of the apartment that he has been staying for the past fifty years late Thursday night, switching only one light in the living room. He stood in the center of the room for a long while, his senses alert for any movements. After confirming that there are no longer watchers within his area, he finally relaxed himself. As his usual habit, he walked out from his house towards the back and immediately went down the small basement he had added to the building.A soft and loving smile appeared on his face after turning on the light in the small room as his eyes traveled towards the small table that held two framed photographs of the woman, who never left his heart.“Hello, Toots,” he greeted, using the nickname that she hated but permanently stuck between them. He knew deep down that she had long accepted and had learn to loved it. “It’s been a while.”Gabriel approached the table, pulling someth
Amarah rested her hands on top of her knees, breathing deeply after completing the pack run early Wednesday morning, two weeks from the time she started living in Clayton’s house. She could feel her sweat drenching her and some dropping on the ground.“That was a good run, huh?” Jacob called out from behind. He came up beside her and handed her a bottled water and a face towel. “Your pace is getting better based on the report I’ve read before. Soon you’ll be running alongside with us.”She nodded after taking a drink. She then wiped her face and arms, patting her skin gently. She glanced at the other pack members who are in groups, laughing and sharing their experiences over the pack run that Jacob had organized. She silently envied them, wanting to be also part of a group.Ever since she arrived at the pack, the only ones she had made friends with aside from Clayton’s close-knit group and the healers, was Ella and
Amarah looked up from her point after the arrow she used hit the board, few inches more from the bullseye on a Saturday afternoon. She smiled gleefully at the small feat she was able to accomplish in just a matter of three days of intense training with Jacob. She picked up another arrow and notched it on the string to take another shot. She aimed towards the target and released it. She watched it fly towards the target. However, before her arrow could be able to hit, her arrow was bump off by another one and it swerve towards the ground.“W-Who -?” She asked quietly and turned around to find the culprit.Erika stood a few feet from her, holding a bow. She is looking at Amarah with a sly smile on her face despite the anger she is projecting from her eyes.“Don’t tell me that you want to become a warrior as well?!” She mocked as she took another arrow. She took aim and then turned to Amarah, looking at her arrogantly and releas
Three years later… Clayton watched anxiously as Amarah breathed in and out as she is clutching his hand tightly on a very early Thursday morning in their room, at his house. He watched as she closed her eyes and tried to control the pain that she is going through right now. “Oh, God, that’s worst,” Amarah finally stated. “You also said the last one was worst,” Clayton countered as he wiped the beads of perspiration on her forehead. “Are you just trying to pacify me? It’s not working, I’m telling you that.” “You’re the one who put this on me,” Amarah teased him with a smile. Clayton stared at her dumbfoundedly. “Amarah, if I knew that I will be going through this as well, I would have waited a little bit more before putting that child in you,” he argued lightly. “I am not ready to go through this process.” That earned a laugh from Matt, who is sitting on one side of the room and patiently monitoring Amarah’s condition. Clayton gave him a good glare. He turned back to his wife, w
“Open your eyes, Amarah.”Amarah opened her eyes and turned towards the voice. She slowly sat up and came face to face with the most beautiful woman she had ever seen in her life. The woman looking back at her has long and thick blond hair that is way past her waist. She had clear and bright honey-gold eyes that are currently staring at her lovingly that goes perfectly well with her beautiful face. A long and pointed nose, round firm cheeks and full rosy lips. She is wearing a glittery silver floor length dress and there is something about her that made Amarah realized who she is staring at.“Oh my goodness!” Amarah exclaimed and she immediately got down on one knee on the floor and placed a fist on her heart. “My apologies for not recognizing you immediately, Goddess Selene.”“You did good, my child,” Selene said.Amarah raised her face towards her when the goddess cupped her chin. She smiled sadly. “I could have done more,” she answered softly. “But I guess I overexerted myself that
Clayton with thick tears in his eyes stood, clenching his fists tightly and watched as the fire slowly crawled up and make its way to Amarah, immediately surrounding her body. He breathed out heavily and felt his mother’s hand on his back, gently comforting him.I love you, my Amarah, he thought in his mind intently.Slowly, as if his own feet have their own brain, he took steps towards the platform until he is only a few feet away. His mother followed behind him and stayed behind his back as the heat being emitted from the fire increases. As the fire started to crawl over her body, he felt a strong gust of wind blowing at them. His mother hugged his arm and buried her face in his back until it subsided. He turned to make sure that she is okay before looking back at the fire.Another gust of wind strongly passed by and it passed directly through the fire.“What the heck -?!” He heard Gabriel from behind exclaimed. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a strong and blinding light shot down
Gabriel, with his hands inside the pockets of his jacket stared down quietly and intently at Catherine’s tomb. His eyes wandered towards the words written on her white, marble epitaph and he gripped his fists tightly. “Life is not Forever. But LOVE is.” He glanced up a bit when he heard a howl in the air, signifying the end of the mourning period. For Amarah. Instead of the tradition’s usual five days of mourning, King Atticus had decreed that the observation of mourning for Amarah will be extended for two more days. This is because of the influx of wolves from all over the kingdom that wanted to pay their last respects to the Saville woman, who had unselfishly given her all to treat those who needed her help. And it has been seven days as well that Gabriel has been visiting his mate’s tomb and would just stand there for hours without saying anything. Gabriel heard some rustling behind and he raised his head up and waited. “Everyone’s starting to gather at the grounds,” Conrad i
Amarah stared up at the ceiling, breathing slowly and deeply. She turned weakly at the sound of the door opening and as hard it is for her, her lips raised upwards into a smile when she saw Clayton entering the room.“H-Hey,” she called out, raising her hand.Clayton immediately went to her side and clasped her hand, bringing it to his lips and kissing it gently. He sat down on the chair by the bed and looked at her lovingly, his eyes red.“You… You look beautiful,” Clayton said achingly.“Thank you,” she whispered. She coughed lightly and then took a deep breath. “Matt said… Matt said that I’m going to be okay. He told me that I just needed to rest so I can recover all the strength that I had lost.”“You shouldn’t have worked hard,” Clayton only whispered.Amarah reached for his cheek with her other hand.“I-I’m sorry,” she apologized gently. “But I did w-what I needed to do. They need my help.”Clayton clutched both of her hands gently.“W-What time is it?” She whispered softly.“It
The howling roar of rage filled the air as Clayton rushed towards Amarah, catching her in his arms before she had completely hit the ground. His eyes burned with anger and fear as blood started to soak her clothing.Conrad, shocked at what had just happened turned towards the direction and when he saw Anthony Madison, with a triumphant smile on his face, transformed immediately to Magnus and lunged towards him, pinning him on the ground and another fight had ensued. The pack members vacated the area, pulling away any injured warriors. They could hear Magnus growling and tearing the enemy apart and a few minutes later, several Gamma warriors had joined him.“Amarah!” Clayton yelled as he reached for the dagger, which he knew for sure has been dipped in Wolfsbane. “No! No! No!”“Clayton, don’t pull it out!” Jacklyn yelled as she knelt beside him. “Let me do it!”“Stay awake, Amarah,” Clayton stated over and over again as he adjusted his position so that Amarah is lying straight in his a
Clayton watched grimly as the fire consumed the dead bodies of all rogues, the orange flames snaking all over the bodies and omitting the smell of burnt skin, hair and blood. He looked up as three more bodies were added to the pile.“Are the bodies of Fullerton and Madison found?” Clayton asked hardly.“Not yet,” Liam answered. “Gab and the Quartermasters are doing the search as well. If they’re still alive, they will immediately eliminate them.”“Their actions just showed the cowardice in them,” Clayton barked angrily. He turned to his left and looked down at Conrad, leaning on a tree and panting heavily as Bradley and Jacob are tying up a clothing around his stomach. “We need to get you back home.”“I’m alright,” Conrad assured him as he finally stood up. He thumped Clayton on the back. “We need to make sure that those two are dead. We cannot be complacent.”“You were good out there,” Clayton commented seriously. “Seems your five years away from here seemed to have made your skills
Amarah opened her tired and heavy eyes when she heard a howl, more like a battle cry in the air. She immediately sat up straight and then stood up immediately when another sound came. She rushed out the office she occupied to rest for a while, her heart pounding.“What’s happening?!” She demanded loudly as she saw the wolves in the center that are strong enough to check, crowding towards the entrance of the building. She pushed her way in the crowd, her eyes straining to see what they are all looking at. “What’s going out there? Is it Clayton? Please don’t tell me it’s him!”When she finally made her way at front, she saw Matt together with Mr. and Mrs. Langston, several steps outside and looking towards one direction, his face grim. Something caught Amarah’s nose and she looked up to see dark, clouds of smoke filling the air as well as hues of dark yellow and orange.Dead bodies, she thought immediately as the sky turned more darker as the fire from afar is getting bigger and spreadi
Clayton transformed back into his human self after Kragen mercilessly ended the life of the rogue that launched at him a few minutes ago. He grabbed his dagger from the ground and immediately hurled it towards the rogue who is sneaking behind Liam.Liam turned and nodded at him thankfully as he pulled the dagger from the rogue’s head, kicking him back to the ground immediately. He handed the weapon back to Clayton.“The Saville’s had broken their inner defense circle,” Liam mentioned to him as they both thwarted a pack of rogues lunging towards them. He spit on the dead body of one. “Bradley was sent to the center a few minutes ago to have the wound on his side tended.”The battle had spread out all over the land as Clayton’s allied packs took each rogue packs to different directions to weaken the defense. He looked onwards and saw Ian Fullerton and his Beta, moving back and allowing the rogues to attack head on.“Cowards!!!” Clayton yelled at them loudly.Anthony Madison heard his sc
