When Aurora regained consciousness she was in a hotel room. Her immediate thought was that she was naked and would be chained to the bed but when she sat up and looked down, she saw that she was fully clothed and was not restrained in any way.
"Huh?"
Aurora looked around and saw that the wall to her left was actually a large window and she had a view of New York. Ok, so at least she was still in the country. She didn't recognize the hotel from the room. It looked to be night time and there was a lamp on the table next to the bed that illuminated the room. There was only one bed and there was a tv in front of her. She saw a door to her right and assumed that it was the bathroom and then another one further down a little hallway and that had to be the exit.
There was no one else in the r
The lobby was filled with people rushing out the doors. The guards tried to calm people down and stop them from running but it was no use. Aurora tried to duck as much as possible and blend in but as she was trying to run with the crowd she locked eyes with one of the receptionists. She was on the phone with someone and looked frazzles but when she saw Aurora she dropped the phone. Her eyes were wide and her mouth agape as she signaled the other staff before pointing at her. And now she had about ten people converging on her location.Distracted by the staff, she tripped over someone and tumbled down on the floor. Fortunately, there was this nice lady who helped Aurora up and then rushed out before her. She smiled at her and looked back and saw one of the receptionists pushing through the people to get to her. All of the guards were loo
Immediately Aurora snatched up the phone. She placed it to her ear and heard that it was on and working. Did they seriously forget to remove this? How buy must they be to forget such a crucial part when trying to keep someone kidnapped?"Guess it's my lucky day," she smiled but then she remembered that needed to know a number to call. "What's my mother's number again?"That was the one number she had to know by heart. She knew that one and... Carson's!"Carson, I know his number... but since he's in the UK then he probably does not use the phone anymore. Now that I think about it, I haven't even called him all this time. Oh, gosh, that's the first thing I need to do when I get out of here."Aurora went back to trying to remember her m
It took Aurora a moment to process what he had just said. She was taken from Delta... by another group? What? How did that even happen? "What are talking about? If you aren't Delta then who are you?" "We're just a smaller group that Delta had the nerve to try and take over. Poor choice for them. They told us that their real agenda was you. Foolish of them. And so we just took you from their hands." "Couldn't you have at least put me in a hotel? Delta wins in that department. They have class." Another one laughed. "Oh look at the Princess making demands. Well, guess what it does not work out that way. We're keeping you here until we get the money we want. And we aren't afraid to hand over some banged-up merchandise. So I suggest yo
He looked at her with these big eyes and pouty lips like was a puppy being abandoned. He had Aurora against his chest and since she was that close she could see all the bruises on his face. It looked like he had a slight black eye. His nose had some blood on it and his cheekbone was swollen."I didn't think ok," he murmured. "I really didn't mean to. If I had thought about it then I would have stayed with you.""Why'd you leave me then?""Because I saw one of my friends and well, I wanted to protect them. Make sure he was ok. It was a rough situation.""Yeah, it was. And that was why you were supposed to protect me. Not him."He hung his head. "I know, I know."
It had been three weeks since that incident and Aurora could say she was doing well. She got home safely and explained to them they Caden got her. She left out the part where she went to her apartment. After that, Aurora basically stayed in her room. She needed a break and was honestly contemplating going on a vacation. But her mother was worried so she stayed where she was. She told Chelly she would need some time and he was completely understanding. It would be a while before she would get back into the mood to fight again. For all that time, her body felt heavy and she would take multiple showers a day to try and erase anything that happened. She especially scrubbed at her lips. But whenever she did it she would think about Caden and then get upset. It would be best if she did get out of the country for a while. Although her mother
"What did you say?" Aurora took a step back."I kissed you because I liked you. I did it so that I could see if it was true. And it was."She scoffed. "Oh come on. Like I believe that."He stepped towards her. "It is true. I do like you.""No, I'm not going to do this. I'm not going to fall for this. I would have preferred if you just said it was a mistake and hoped we could move past this. I do enjoy your friendship. So maybe we could be friends again. But you liking me is not a part of the equation.""Isn't that what you wanted?"Aurora let out a laugh. "And what gave you that idea."
Aurora sat on her bed scrolling through an article about Delta. The phone they gave to the police had alot of information on it that helped to expose alot of their crimes. Many girls have been recovered from various locations, hideouts have been raided and more than three hundred people have been arrested. Of those three hundred was the entire group of higher-ups that would go to the club. There has been no information about the top four who run the operation. It seems like they went into hiding when things got tough. No one from the six knows how to contact them. It seems like the four would reach out first and then the number or email would be unavailable after that. She was more than happy that they were getting what they deserved."Hopefully this city can become a safer place." she
"The UK? Why?""Because I want to see Carson. I haven't seen him in a long time and after all that happened I really want to see him."He sighed. "You're still so obsessed with him. You cried and cried when he left. I seriously thought there was something wrong with you."Aurora rolled her eyes. "Carson will always be my favorite person. It is mandatory that I get to see him. It is crucial for my survival.""Sure it is.""Listen, you don't have to go if you don't want to. But I'm going.""No, I'll go. I want to also meet him properly. And see what all the hype is about. How awesome of a person can Carson be?"
