Oh, he was so mad I thought internally as Eoin stomped away from the dining hall. I wasn't as confident as I seemed sipping my coffee. But I was not going to bow to any Alpha and even if my mate was some high ranked wolf I was not going to be the submissive mate they expected, well not all the time anyway I smirked thinking of Eoin spanking me. "Let's train." he growled, pushing himself off the tree as I raised a surprised eyebrow. "Or did you think I would be sitting here with a picnic basket and candles?" he goaded as I pulled off my zip top.

"Not really our style now, is it?" I smirked, calling forth my dragon Flame, and before he could do anything, I hurled a ball of fire at him. He flew back from the flaming impact on his chest and hit the tree he had been lounging on. "But today I really do want to play with fire." I added as the aura around me began to burn it seemed my lust and desire to get under Eoins' skin fueled my firepower as much as anger did. Eoin stood from the wreckage of the tree.

"Cheap shot." he growled, dusting off his shorts as he stood tall, his own hands now flaming.

"No cheaper than trying to tell me who I can date or hang out with." I retorted, sending another jet of flame his way. This one he dodged, and it landed, leaving a scorched mark on the dusty ground. The fire around me extended into a bigger blaze .

"You need to pull in your flame." Eoin said. "You are not in control right now." he added in a softer tone.

"I am very much in control." I said, tossing another flame ball his way that he simply caught and quenched whilst he was moving toward me. "And that's my point you do not tell me what to do." I added.

"Oh really, and why not?" Eoin asked now only a few yards away. "Find your emotion centre the place your flame starts Kayda and turn down the bloody gas. It's like putting up a mind block stop allowing your emotions to throw fuel on the flame." he added, trying to direct me.

"Why not? because you do not get to tell me who I can see end of story. I will not be told what to do by anyone." I growled, ignoring his instructions as the flame burned higher, and he raised an eyebrow.

"More emotion added to your inner flame just like petrol to a spark." he said. "But I will and can tell you what to do Kayda I am your Alpha." he smirked weirdly now as I fought to not allow the flames around me to increase. Was he deliberately adding to my fury and annoyance, or was he just being the Prince Jerk as always?

"You are not my mate." I responded he was now almost in my flame surrounding aura, but he was not burning

"Right." he nodded, his casual agreement irked me.

"You drew the line for what's going on between us when you were out with Amira last night." I cried, and the flame shot upwards in an inferno, and there it was the unsaid emotion that was burning my flame out of control.

"Kayda.?" he called as my dragon was now coming to the surface. "Kayda, push your dragon back down. Regain control, you are able to do this. You just need to find your control points." he simply said now right inside the flames with me I could see nothing but him and fire flames.

"Kayda." he reached for me his skin surprisingly like ice on my flaming skin, and instantly, I could push my dragon back. I concentrated on Eoin's touch as he now placed a hand on either side of my waist as he started into my eyes, which I had no doubt were on fire. As I began to build the block between my emotion and inner flame of my dragon, the fire became smaller, and soon it was a tiny ball in my hand. I closed my hand into a fist, quenching the flame. This was why I didn't use my power. Why I didn't want to train with anyone, but at least I knew what we all suspected I couldn't hurt Eoin.

"Sorry." I mumbled shyly. I hated people seeing me out of control.

"It's okay. I pushed you, too. The only way you can gauge control is to feel its full force. In my first fire experience, I destroyed half a forest in Colerado. Only Rori had the power of water to put it out it would have been a much bigger deal." he told me, and he seemed surprised by his admission. "I never told anyone that except those who were there." he added softly, reaching up and bruising a little soot from my cheek.

"Kayda, I don't want you going out with that warrior tonight." he continued his confessional tilting my face up. I barely made it halfway up his torso, so great was the height difference.

"Why?" I asked him softly he put his hands under my buttocks and scooped me up my legs automatically went around his waist and my arms held onto his neck we were now eye level and he seemed more at ease looking into my eyes as we spoke.

"Kayda, don't ask me why, please." he murmured. "I don't know why." he added, and I believed him his emotions were as mixed up as mine. "But Kayda, I am an Alpha, a future King, and I don't share."

"Fair enough." he sighed. "I will talk to Amira, but if we are going to do this," he paused and smirked. "Whatever this is, then we need ......" he trailed off.

"Rules." I whispered, and he laughed

" deal." I simply sighed pushing aside my thoughts, it was time to talk to mom. We had already had the contraception talk when I was fourteen and she was a very open person with this kind of thing but I just needed her advice on a long term option. I was never previously having regular sex nor the spontaneous passionate sex that was as volatile as Eoin and I appeared to be so condoms had always been enough for my past partners and our very planned clinical intimacy. But I wasn't stupid enough to think if Eoin and I rolled this dice we wouldn't fail at some point to control this desire and lust we harbor for each other. It had taken everything in my being to stop him earlier and even now i regreted stopping him and I ached to have him fill me completely.

"What am I going to do about my date with Nick tonight?" I asked him tracing my finger over one of his chest tattoos.

"I will sort that." he smirked.

"How?" I asked "You can't hurt him right Eoin?" I asked slightly unsure.

"Just know you my love are having a night in and an early one too. I think you are suddenly sick so drained from all that fire power you used just now and i will get the message to him." he smirked he was going to make me fake an illness.

"Okay." I sighed getting up and pulling up my shorts and underwear and Eoin followed suit. Once dressed though he grabbed me again and we began to kiss like two teenagers up against a tree before I ran off ahead to shower his scent away and he no doubt went to do the same. As I washed my hair I wondered was it really possibly that Price Eoin could be my mate. As a dragon werewolf hybrid shifter it appeared like my mother I needed the blood moon which was six weeks away to get my answer. But for the first time ever it didn't seem like the most insane notion, a week ago I would of bet my life on the fact we weren't and would of laughed at the absurdity of it but now it wasn't so ridiculous.

Once dried and dressed I went in search of my mother Dottie as she was currently pregnant I knew she wasn't far. Dragon shifters had horrible pregnancies where the pup drained the mothers energy it was a reason dragon shifters were dying out. Not only that but the father needed to be near to allow the pup pull energy from him too and it was the reason I was cautious not to tie myself to someone who wasn't my mate with an unplaned pregnancy. As I had guessed I found her in my dad's office curled up on his lap silently as he worked. My mother was aptly named Dottie as she was a tiny dot compared to my huge warrior father. She was a highly independent tough cookie but was always reduced to this clingy creature whilst pregnant.

"Hi Honey." Dad said as I came in. "All OK?" he asked

"I was just hoping to chat with Mom." I replied and she lifted her head tiredly.

"She's not great right now Princess." my dad sighed. " rough morning she fainted so here i am on house arrest with the beauty." he explained. "is it personal?" he seemed uncomfortable and torn.

"It's a girl thing." I shrugged.

"I will manage Danny let me talk to her." my mother's little weak voice came and I knew for me she would drag her last energy together.

"I can talk in front of you dad if you just stay quiet and remember I am eighteen now and am being mature." I said glaring at him. He looked uncomfortable but looking at his drained mate on his lap he softened I knew he harboured guilt from how he treated her when she was pregnant with me so he nodded.

"I want to ask about long term contraception because the pack clinic is not sure because I am the only dragon werewolf hybrid known so I need to know what works for you Mom." I dived right in.

My father paled but I saved him the eye contact embarrassment.

"I hate having girls." he muttered as my mother mustered up the energy to slap him on the chest.

"Is there a serious boy on the scene?" my mother asked and I rolled my eyes if only she knew who I was messing around with.

"What boy? Who?" my dad asked suddenly interested. "Is it the warrior Nick?"

"Daddy." I sighed "We had a deal." I reminded him and he clamped his mouth shut.

"There is no boy okay. Its just I am eighteen now and I could met my mate anywhere at anytime and well I am just trying to with all due respect not have history repeat itself." I rushed trying to find the least hurtful words.

"That's fair." my mother said. "very responsible we did do it the wrong way around but thankfully your father was a good man before we confirmed we were mates." she gave a weak smile. "You need a strong committed mate and an educated mutual decision to have a dragon pup but I hope as a half dragon you will not be like me in pregnancy." she sighed as sadness laced her voice and my dad held her tighter. "Any way you need an IUD because hormone based medications burn off in our Dragon system." she added.

"Thanks mom." I sighed standing and going to her planting a kiss on her cheek I paused watching her doze off again before I also gave my dad a kiss on the cheek.

"You're a Saint." I smirked softly.

"Aye." he said wearily " Blessed is the man surrounded by women." he called as I closed the door leaving them to nurture my growing new sibling.
