Don't Be Too Naive

Paula stood staring out from the glass wall of the pool. As much as possible, he kept his emotions.

Harry's question had surprised her: "He dared to say slander to derail your wedding plans? Disappointed mother, Harry. You and Patricia believed him more."

Paula wiped her tears with her finger, indicating the woman was crying. I don't know why. It was only for the sake of making Harry believe him.
