Chapter 881

James stepped forward. He looked domineering, and his gaze turned sharp. Everyone, including Caroline, was startled by his sudden change in demeanor.

"If you insist that Summer isn't good enough to be your daughter-in-law, then I'll let you have your way," he said.

Everyone became confused. He sounded as though he just agreed that Summer wasn't suitable to be his wife. However, he hadn't finished his sentence yet.

He continued and said, "If you don't want her to be your daughter-in-law, then I'll simply cut ties with you.

"If you're not my mother, she won't be your daughter-in-law. Summer is my wife no matter what!"

His declaration was firm and unwavering. Summer was the only person he'd marry, and no one was able to change that. All of the younger guests began cheering for him immediately afterward.

"Maybe you should stop pressuring him, Aunt Caroline," said Claire. "He really loves Summer."
