Chapter 293

After the initial greetings, Summer began to eat her meal obediently.

Caroline and Eleanor started chatting. They talked about topics that sounded very "high-class", such as contemporary literary masters, artistic calligraphy, and classical musicals.

Anyway, they were all things that Summer found boring.

As they finished their meal and prepared for their lessons, Caroline solemnly advised Summer to learn from Eleanor diligently. She warned that if it weren't for James' sake, she would have punished Summer by locking her up in the dark room again.

Essentially, what Caroline meant was that if Summer caused any trouble again, she would end up in the dark room once more.

Summer thought that Caroline just enjoyed threatening and tormenting people. She felt helpless about it but had no choice but to nod in compliance. She hoped that nothing would happen.

In the afternoon, in a quaint hall of the Quigley residence, there was a redwood table and two embroidered wooden chairs.
