A Divorce

"Evelyn, you're back."

When Eve got back to the mansion, the family was already having dinner.

"Big Sis, you came back."

"We thought you'd gone back home, Big Sis. We were disappointed not to find you after returning from school."

"Didn't I promise to spend some time with you?" Eve smiled and sat on a chair. "I won't just go back on my words, you know."

Her father looked up from his food and squinted his eyes. "Evelyn, are you sure nothing is going on? You've been here for three days straight."

"Come on, Dad, are you fed up with me already?" Eve put on an offended look. "Nothing is wrong, I promise."

"You– Evelyn." Her father shifted on his chair. "I don't trust this look on your face. This is the exact look your mother gives me whenever she does something wrong and she tries to hide it."

"Big Sis, are you sure you're alright?" Her sisters looked shocked. "Don't tell us you have a problem with brother-in-law."

"Urgh, guys, come on." Eve sighed and quickly finished up her food.
