“Never mind” He turned to the elevator to leave.

“Sir, what about the bag?” The sales girl called after him.

“I will buy one of the regulars,” He said.

The elevator opened revealing Lydia.

Clinton hissed seeing her, Lydia walked up to the sales attendant and collected the bag from her.

“How much for this?” Lydia asked.

“It's four billion”

“I like it”

“It's one of its kind ma”

Clinton scoffed “You better be careful so she does not stain the bag,” He said to the sales attendant.

“I thought you wanted to buy it? Aren't you buying again?” Lydia faced Clinton.

“Not this one” He answered.

“Why? Too expensive?” There was a strong sense of sarcasm in her voice.

“No, it's just that…”

“Whatever, it's not like I care” She raised her hands to stop him from talking further.

“I'm buying this, my mum would love it, and I'm paying in cash”

“Okay, ma” The sales attendant bowed.

“You gotta be kidding me?, How will you buy that?”

Lydia raised her head and gave him a cold glance “None of your business sir” Lydia softly spoke, then she brought out a bundle of cash from her backpack, “That's 100 million, one billion, two…and four billion” She dropped the bundle on the desk, counting it.

The sales attendant confirmed the amount and nodded, “let me wrap your bag ma'am” She said, super excited.

“Unbelievable!” Clinton charged at Lydia.

“Where do you get so much money? Did you steal it?” His face suddenly changed, and his voice was aggressive.

Lydia silently looked at him, and then she turned around, ignoring him.

“I'm talking to you” He held her on the shoulder which Lydia pushed away.

“Here is your bag ma'am” The sales attendant had wrapped the bag and put it in a paper bag.

“Thank you dear, and here…” she brought a dollar note from her purse.

“A tip for you”

“Ah, don't ma”

“Take it”

“One thousand dollars!, Omg!, Thank you ma'am” The sales attendant went on her knees appreciating Lydia.

“Mr. Benjamin, I don't need your three billion as you can see, I think you need it more than I do if you can't buy this bag worth four billion” She chuckled.

“I can afford it, it's just that there are other meaningful things I can use the money for”

“Oh sure,” She laughed.

“So where did you get this?”

“I stole it as you earlier said, bye” She winked at him and left swinging the bag.

Clinton stood still, shocked by what just happened.

“Was she not an orphan? What mum is she buying the bag for? Or is it the guy I saw the other day?”

“It must be him because where else will she have four billion cash!” He was deep in thought when he heard the sales attendant calling him.

“Sir” she tapped him on his hands and Clinton jerked back.

“You have to go,”

“Uh, okay” He tucked his hands in his pocket like a gentleman and left.

Less than half an hour later, Clinton got back home, Kelly jumped at him excitedly, and then she placed a kiss on his cheeks.

“You got it right? Where is the bag?” She asked, looking for it.

“Your hands are empty, is it in the bag?” Her heart raised with excitement bouncing up and down with joy, then She rushed to the car without waiting for his reply, humming ‘My new LV bag'

Kelly's smile dropped when she saw nothing in the car. Her heart beat fast, she took a deep breath to calm herself.

There is no way he did not buy the bag.

She went back to him, “Where is my LV back?” She asked, looking impatient.

“I could not buy it”

“What?” She raised her voice.

“Why?” She asked but received no response from him.

“Talk to me!”

“Do you know how much the bag cost?” He glared at her with gritted teeth.

“Huh, are you saying, you can't afford it?” She scoffed.

“I can”

“So why didn't you buy it?”

“Someone else already bought it”

“I don't believe you!” She crossed her arms and looked disdainful.

“Don't worry, I will get you something else” He moved closer to her but Kelly shifted back.

“Kelly, I'm sorry, I will make it up to you I promise” He placed his hands on her waist and pulled her close to him.

“Mm, I'm sorry baby” He gave her a peck on her cheeks.

“Promise?”

“Promise. Now let's go inside” He held her hands tightly and kissed them.

“My love,” He said as he kissed them, looking deep into her eyes.

Kelly giggled at that.

She wrapped her hands on his shoulder and they both went inside.

In Zander's mansion, Lydia had just returned home from the mall.

“Mum, Dad” She hugged her parents.

“Where were you?” Her dad asked.

“Looking around, I went to some of our properties and business, and my mum, I got you this” She spoke giving the paper bag.

“What's this? Her mum asked excitedly.

“Sh, a secret” She winked.

“I love secrets” Her mum smiled.

“Which of our properties did you go to?”

He adjusted his eyeglasses and carefully selected the seeds that he wanted to plant.

“Those in A section, and I went to the park, then the textile company” She answered, sitting beside her dad.

“Do you need some assistance?”

“Yes, join me, only the yellow ones”

“Alright Dad”

Lydia wore a glove and joined her dad in selecting the seedlings.

“They smell good without planting them,” She said, smelling some.

“Yeah, it is a rare seed. So tell me did you enjoy your survey?”

“Yes, though some things are lacking but I'm sure I will put everything in place once I resume”

“Omg! The newly released LV bag!” Mrs. Zander exclaimed.

“Thank you sweetie” She hugged her daughter.

“This is so beautiful”

“Don't mention it, mum”

“Don't tell me you only got something for your mum, what about me?” Her dad asked his hands on his waist.

“Oops, another day dad”

“No, I will not accept, how can you be so partial?” He crossed his hands.

“Don't worry I will buy you something much more, trust me” She winked at her dad and he reciprocated it by winking back.

“Are you sure that you want to take over?” He asked, feeling concerned.

“Being an heir is not child's play, it is tedious work, are you ready?”

“Trust me, Dad, I'm more than ready”

“What about your in-laws?”

“Them? They are enough motivation to make me climb up and guess what Dad, I'm starting with their company.” Lydia paused, looking coldly at the air.

“Why their company first?”

“Sh, it's a secret” She whispered to his ears.

But I saw you yesterday. And I realized—I never knew the woman I married. Not really. You were always powerful. Brave. Beautiful… in ways I was too blind to see."A pause. He deleted, and rewrote, his pulse hammering. "I was cruel. I define you when you were always priceless. I don’t expect forgiveness. But wherever you’re going, whatever storm you’re walking into—remember this: I was a fool to let you go, and I'm sorry for everything.” His thumb hovered over SEND. One tap.
