Joan's Plan
"Yummy!" Exclaimed Katie after getting some sweet treat. Christopher Hale had just fed the little girl a small piece of cake, and it left Joan ogling at the view.
Katie's eyes were twinkling, and she jumped in her seat saying, "Cake! Cake!"
"Let me, baby," Olivia offered, stretching her hands and holding up a fork to her daughter's face. "Here's more cake."
"No!" Katie turned away and just giggled in the direction of Christopher.
"It - it doesn't seem like she wants the cake from you, Olivia," Joan suggested, leaning to Olivia.
"It's okay. I can feed her." Christopher aided in feeding Katie and as he did, he chuckled at the little girl's reaction.
Olivia and Joan ended up looking at each other. They utterly felt like they did not belong.
