When she recovered from shocked Dianthe pushed Atty. Garette with all her might and ran inside the mansion. At the veranda, Don Raffy was looking at them amusingly. This is the first time that he saw his son, trying to insist himself on a woman and he wanted to laugh. At long last, it seems like someone is going to tame him already. He then turned the wheel of his wheelchair and left the veranda.

After that night, when Dianthe ran away from Atty. Garette’s advances when they were at the swimming pool, she became restless. She almost gave in to his sexual advances and this is not how she and Don Raffy has planned it to be.

Atty. Garette was restless too. He knew that he is doing something beyond moral standards but he cannot help it. His body seemed to crave her every time he looked at her. What made things confusing however was that he saw his father on the veranda witnessing what he and Dianthe were doing then, but he kept his silence and still acted naturally in front of him. He

  • The Playboy Attorney & His Arranged Wife   Chapter 48: The Invite

The morning light in Cambridge was a pale, sickly gray, filtering through the heavy drapes of the hotel’s suite room. Dianthe woke up, the empty space beside her still warm, though Garette had already moved to the small sitting area to take a hushed, early-morning call with the Texas ranch. She sat up, rubbing her eyes, her mind immediately jumping back to the hallway confrontation. The sense of being watched hadn't left her.As she stood up to reach for her robe, something white caught her eye. It was a small, square envelope, partially hidden under the heavy oak door. It hadn't been there when they went to sleep.Dianthe picked it up. There was no name, no address—just the lingering, cloying scent of Elena Vance’s perfume. Her heart did a slow, painful roll in her chest. She opened the envelope with trembling fingers. Inside was a single, high-resolution photograph. It wasn't a professional shot; it was a candid, grainy photo taken in a dimly lit, high-end bar - the kind of place wh

  • The Playboy Attorney & His Arranged Wife   Chapter 47 - The Guest In the Suite Next Door

The elevator ride back to the hotel suite was as silent as a library with an old librarian with thick rimmed glass, pawning at any student who dare make a sound. Garette’s hand remained firmly on the small of Dianthe’s back, a possessive gesture that felt more like a protective shield than an embrace. The confrontation with Elena Vance had left a bitter aftertaste that even the finest vintage couldn't wash away.As the gold doors chimed and opened onto the velvet-carpeted hallway, Garette stopped.Standing by the door to the suite immediately adjacent to theirs was a bellhop, struggling with a mountain of designer luggage—trunks embossed with the unmistakable "EV" monogram. And leaning against the door frame, still draped in her cream-colored fur, was Elena. She was slowly peeling off her leather gloves, watching them approach with a triumphant, feline smile."What a coincidence," she purred, clicking her tongue. "It seems the city’s fine hotels are all fully booked except this one. T

The city’s signature restaurant was a cathedral of high ceilings, precious aroma of well crafted recipe of food, and a relaxing ambiance. Garette had secured a corner table, tucked away in an alcove that offered a modicum of privacy from the prying eyes of the Cambridge elite. He sat across from Dianthe, the amber glow of the candlelight softening the sharp, legalistic lines of his face. For the first time in days, he looked relaxed—or as relaxed as a man like Garette Le Brione could ever be. He had spent the afternoon winning his case, but his true prize was the woman currently sipping a glass of vintage Bordeaux across from him."You're remarkably quiet tonight," Garette noted, his voice a low hum. "Still thinking about the model?""I'm thinking about the fact that you think a expensive dinner can fix a scene like that," Dianthe replied, though a small, playful tilt of her lips betrayed her."I don't think it fixes it. I think it distracts you long enough for me to prove that I have

The elevator doors slid shut just as Garette’s hand reached the sensors. He swore, a jagged, raw sound that echoed through the prestigious halls of the Cambridge firm."Garette, darling, really," the blonde woman—Elena Vance, a former supermodel turned high-society mogul—said as she stepped out of his office, adjusting the strap of her emerald dress. "It was just a hug. You’re being incredibly dramatic."Garette turned on her, his eyes flashing with a cold, predatory light that had made opposing lawyers tremble. "Get out, Elena. My contract with your estate’s case ended three years ago. If I see you in my office again, I’ll file a restraining order that will make your latest scandal look like a bedtime story."Elena Vance was shocked at his sudden outrage. Her eyes squinted. “Who was that woman, who just disturbed my plan of having Garette wrap around my arms at this very minute?” she thought, her stormy eyes watching the back of Garette as he stormed away from her.He didn't even wai

The elder Mr. Le Brione sat in his high-backed chair, his eyes sharper than they had been in weeks. He watched Dianthe as she checked his vitals, but his mind wasn't on his health."You’re moping," the old man stated, his voice a gravelly rasp. "You’ve checked that phone six times in ten minutes. The house feels like a funeral parlor without that arrogant son of mine stomping around."Dianthe flushed, adjusting the cuff of his blood pressure monitor. "I’m not moping. I’m just... ensuring the ranch runs smoothly in his absence.""Nonsense," Raffy Le Brione scoffed. He gestured to a leather folder on the side table. "Inside are your flight details. My private jet is fueled and waiting at the hangar. You leave for Cambridge in two hours."Dianthe froze. "What? I can’t just—""A Le Brione wife belongs where her husband is," the old man interrupted, his tone brooks no argument. "He’s in the middle of a high-stakes battle. He needs his anchor. Besides, if you stay here any longer, you’ll we

  • The Playboy Attorney & His Arranged Wife   Chapter 43 - The Distance and Empty Space

The master suite felt cavernous. For the first time since she had been "relocated" from the guest wing, Dianthe woke up to the sound of nothing. No rhythmic breathing, no rustle of the financial times, and no scent of expensive sandalwood and espresso.Garette had left at five o’clock in the morning. A high-stakes corporate espionage case in Cambridge required his personal touch at the High Court. It was a hearing that might take days to finish. For the first time in their marriage, she felt an intense longing for his presence.Dianthe sat up, hugging a pillow that still smelled faintly of him. She hated the feeling. She should be celebrating her freedom—no cold glares, no biting sarcasm, and no suffocating possessiveness. Instead, she felt a hollow ache in her chest that she couldn't rationalize."It's just the silence," she whispered to the empty room. "I’m just used to the noise."But as she walked through the halls of the ranch, the silence followed her. She went to the Dairy Farm
