ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW
As I was entering the white iron gate of our campus, I heard the murmurings of other students who were roaming around, and most of them were probably juniors. Their attentions were nailed into the banner that was hanging in the entrance. It was gigantic that it was impossible not to be noticed. It was indicating that the intramural week was just around the corner. It was celebrated before the semester ends. It was the week everyone's waiting since there were lots of activities and sports competitions among different departments. I could see how excited they were.
"Good morning, Astrid! It's good to see you this early." Lia wrapped her both arms around mine while handed two paper bags. I casually smiled and just listened to the description of the face masks she bought in the mall yesterday. She looked so jubilant and looking forward to using it later before she go to sleep.
"Have this, Astrid! I ac
Hope, you enjoy this chapter. Have a blessed day, everyone!
KOLTEN ZEDEKIEL'S POINT OF VIEW "Coach!" I noticed that most of the students who were in the hallways turned their back as they heard me shouting, but successfully made my coach turn his back on me. He stopped and raised his brows as if waiting for me while I was half-run to get in his direction. He noticed the new tumbler he was holding. "I'll just need to go upstairs, but I'll be quick." He gave me a perplexed look before smirking and tapping my shoulder. "Are you asking for my permission to avoid being punished for being late or what?" He chuckled a bit before giving me a soft shoulder punch and nodded. "Thanks, Coach! I'll promise to give you a good game later. I'll break a leg!" A genial smile, etched on his face, w
ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW I asked Kolten to drive me home first before heading to the Bliss Club, where we chose to celebrate Lia's getting into the volleyball team of the HRM department. I was wearing a maroon-sweat-shirt crop-top paired with my faded skinny high-waist jeans. I tried to put my night makeup which was a darker shade than the usual one, whenever I went to school every day, that was matching to the color of my outfit. My hair was well-ironed as we arrived there. Played basketball with my big brother while he was waiting for me. I already told him to go ahead of me and I will just be asked my brother to drop me off there since his meetings have been canceled, the reason why he got home earlier than usual, but he insisted that he can wait for me. "Here you are again. How was studying, guys?" Drey greet
KOLTEN ZEDEKIEL'S POINT OF VIEW I was seated on the floor of our locker room and watching how my teammates hastily ran outside with the thought that our coach would scold us if we got there later than we ought to be. When I was all alone in this white-painted locker room, the door was shut and the room was full of silence, I bowed down my head and said a silent prayer with my hands together before the big games this week. This was actually the awaited week for the entire team, especially for our coach. I managed to not be nervous and have a positive mindset as I was making my way to the vast basketball court of our campus. Orion turned his back and stopped for a while to wait for me before he threw his arm around my shoulder. As we went into the hall, we saw some students and faculty in our department wh
ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW "Did anyone ask my princess out for a date?" My Dad asked while I was sitting on his lap as he was watching his favorite baseball team playing in the finals while we were waiting for Mom who was busy preparing for our dinner. I helped her clean some dishes, the day after celebrating my birthday. I gave him a side glance of disgust as I heard what he asked, which made him chuckle a bit. I always tell him everything that happens to me in school. From the moment I was caught by my World History teacher sleeping in her class, from the time I went up to wait until my brother's class ended. I never like the idea of hiding something from him, probably because I had been too closed to him that I was too comfortable telling him it all. "You know Ko
ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW I used to treat him to a cup of hot chocolate in a small vintage restaurant. My Mom introduced this restaurant to me before. He told me that when she flew back here to the Philippines, she met an old lady that happened to be an old friend of grandma during their college years. She was the wife of the owner of this classic restaurant. I loved the ambiance it gave. All the furniture and fixtures that were hanging and displayed here. It was placed in an old street. It was actually one of the shops some may be walking past, but I was glad to know this place. There was some old and dusty cash register on the counter. It had been a long time, since the last time we went here. There were a few new designs of paintings hanging on the left corner of this restaurant. They added some tables and chai
KOLTEN ZEDEKIEL'S POINT OF VIEW "Bro, do you remember Martin who was wearing jersey number 14, the center player of the IT department we played against yesterday?" Orion asked while he was tying his dark gray basketball shoes he got by cleaning their garden last weekend. Uncle gave him two of this new edition, knowing that Orion used to give me any shoes that he got from his dad's company. "Yeah. What's about him?" I asked while checking on my inbox. I saw some messages from my Mom. She always called me every night, asking how was my day, the time I last ate, and even the last time I change my pillowcase. But I guess hearing those questions every night made me feel that they were both here with me. "He's a half-brother of Samuel." He abruptly ran his hand through his ha
KOLTEN ZEDEKIEL'S POINT OF VIEW "It is official, bro," I whispered to Orion who was wearing a pair of jerseys and seemed so tired while drying up her hair using the white towel that was hanging on his shoulder after we won in our game. I saw how he smirked before giving me a soft shoulder punch. "Finally, bro. I guess that was the reason why someone broke a leg in the court earlier." I just laughed before locking his head around my arms and hardly messed up his hair that was full of sweat while we were making our way going to the men's room. In the last 15 seconds of the last quarter of our game, when our coach called for a timeout, I told Astrid to wait for us outside since I noticed how the number of students from different departments gradually increased. "Hey, guys!
ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW "I'm happy for the both of you, girl. You know what Astrid, I am not saying this as a friend of Kolten, but you both are blessed to have each other." I smiled as she giggled and hugged me. "Thank you, Zette!" She looked so excited while linking her arm around Samuel's who was standing right next to her as we were waiting for Kolten and Orion near their locker room. "I suddenly remember how we started before. Honestly, I did not expect us to last this long." I smiled as I saw Samuel quickly smile as he heard Zette. They were so cute. "I thought you've been together even before. That what he told me back then." I shifted my gaze to Samuel who was smiling, and I could see how genuine he was, chuckled in response to him. "Maybe that was why he almost threw the ball, even in the half-court." He chuckled between his husky voice while taking off his jacket to put on to Zette who was just
ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW "Astrid, I will book later when everyone's in their room." He put down my bag and gave me my phone that I probably left during outside. He went outside as he saw me about to change my clothes. I always admired him for being so gentlemanly. I took a bath as quickly as I could knowing that he might be waiting for me outside, I was holding my wireless hairdryer. I was wearing a white halter top paired up with denim shorts. I dialed his number while I was in the front of the mirror, but I heard it ringing inside, he probably left it here. But as the moment I open the door, I saw him standing outside before flashing a genial smile, he had always been this pure and genuine. "Why won't you just come inside?" He just smiled before looking to his right, which made me automatically look in the same
KOLTEN ZEDEKIEL'S POINT OF VIEW I decided to book my flight going to the U.S. after finding out that her grandfather had passed away without her knowledge. I could not contact her. I did not know if she just blocked me or what, but it was devastating that she broke up with me, not even telling me the real reason. I wanted to give her time and understand her situation, thinking that she might need it to finally accept what happened. I went there during Christmas and left a flower for her grandfather's tomb. I used to watch her from afar and see her smiling along with her mom and grandma, that was exactly the smile I was longing to see for a long time. — "There she is." Zette waving her both hands. I got so nervous about seeing her half run in our direction. I began to notice a lot of things that have been changed from the last time I saw h
ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW It was a Sunday morning after I went to church with Mom and Grandma, I usually put my phone in silent mode. But the moment I opened it, I saw a lot of missed calls from Zette. So I tried to call her back. "Is there anything wrong? Sorry for missing your calls, I was attending a mass when you called me. She chuckled a bit like she always did. This made me remember how she used to giggle whenever she was about to say and announce something special. "I'm sorry for disturbing you, but I just really want you to know about it first. You already knew that Samuel and I had been engaged after I graduated, right? The original plan would be next year, remember? But it had been moved so suddenly, because hie grandmother wanted to attend our wedding before going back abroad, and you should be there. I'm honestly won't wa
ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW Christmas Eve, when I and Kolten had a great fight over the phone. He did not want things to end up by that. He did not even ask me about the photos I was talking about, it only meant that he already knew about it. Mom asked me about him, but I used to change the topic and told her that our situation was really complicated. My brother and I slept in our Grandfather's room that night, since he wanted us to stay with him. We already knew that he was too tired and just wanted to spend his time with us. Ashton and I were holding both hands until he fell asleep. It was past 12:00 in the midnight when Grandpa woke up and greeted us a Merry Christmas, and I was so glad that we spent our Christmas here with them. "He was probably just waiting for you." My big brother wiped away my tears and pulled me closer to him. I never thought that it would be his last Christmas with us. After I broke up with Kolten tha
KOLTEN ZEDEKIEL'S POINT OF VIEW "Bro, it is good to see you. I was actually planning to fetch you later if you did not shoe up in my party." Toby ran and show his arm on my shoulder as he saw my on his birthday party. He, together with his team members, had been one of my great rival in basketball, the one whom Orion and I met in the street during our vacation in my grandparents' place when we were still in the grade school. Orion saw him in the campus one Thursday morning, and that was when we found out that he had transferred to our university as his had been decided to look for his grandparents at their not that far from the campus. "It's been a while, bro. Why won't you join in the varsity of your department this intramural?" He handed me a bottle of alcohol he just got in the bucket full of ice. "I just got in, bro. I just went back home during the intramural, reason why I did not make it to play. Orion c
ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW "I ever thought that I will be able to taste a breakfast prepared by our princess." I seated myself right next to my grandpa after preparing a bowl of fried rice and a sunny-side-up taught by Kolten's grandma. Grandpa manage to give me a genial smile which I longed for. I hugged him tightly while wiping my tears that I keep from falling. "Grandpa, I began to like cooking and baking. Kolten's grandmother taught me new recipes every time we visited them in their province." I handed him a glass of water while he was still looked so amazed thinking that I could not be able to learn how to cook. I easily noticed how he lose weight from the moment I last saw him. My brother called me and probably wanted to see grandpa. "Grandpa, someone wanna se
ASTRID TALITHA'S POINT OF VIEW His smile was really precious. I was longing to hear his jokes and his laughter. I missed his masculine scent that never fades, even if he had been so sweaty after playing with me. I could not help by to cry after hearing his voice last night. He might be suffering a big time. I could hear how he tried not to break his voice while talking with me. Mom told me that he could not sleep at night without the help of some medicines to ease the pain. I could not imagine hearing how he utter in pain. I put down my picture with my grandpa that had been framed for almost a decade. He was carrying me that moment. It was so odd, but I hadn't slept the entire night, I didn't know, but my brain just couldn't turn off, and there were way too many things on my mind. I already made my mind to visit my grandparents abroad since my semestral break goes fro
KOLTEN ZEDEKIEL'S POINT OF VIEW After our final examination, everyone was excited after hearing the official announcement from our department's dean about the rumor of having a week's vacation. What excites them the most was the idea that Mr. O'Connor was the one to shoulder all the expenses that will be incurred. "How I wished I could join you, guys." Lia and Zette looked so sloppy the moment they have heard about the announcement. Orion was laughing while teasing them. I saw how Astrid threw him her indignant stare As if trying to stop him from teasing the two. "You should enjoy that one week. Besides, you really deserve it, guys." I just patted Zette's head as I forced myself not to laugh after seeing how Orion walked out while laughing so hard while she was grimacin
KOLTEN ZEDEKIEL'S POINT OF VIEW We used to visit my grandparents whenever we were not busy during weekends. I told them about our relationship, Grandpa gave me some pieces of advice, he told me that those were the same advice he gave to Dad before. Grandma talked with Astrid in the kitchen while seemed like teaching her how to bake. I even heard them laughing about something. The moment we heard something burdening was the same time when we heard Grandma scolding her. Grandpa and I just let out a deep sigh for the nth time as hearing them, that actually happened every time we went there, but I guess, Astrid used to her attitude as she even bought and brought her own apron whenever we visited them. I took a bath early this since our couch strictly told that we should have been there as early as seven o'clock in the morn
