Chapter 6

The cold air made Zachary lonelier. When he was young, he thought that his flair can make him visit every place. His eyes stayed at The Shield. He can see it because he's in the highest part of the tallest tower, the Seacrest Tower.

The lights of the Seacrest City were colorful but it didn’t make him happy. It was like everything he saw was black and white.

His virtual screen appeared. Cammi was calling him. He tapped the answer button but didn’t bother to talk.

“Zachary, NPU Theo is finding you.” as usual, Cammi was the only one who cared about him.

“Where are you?”

No response.

“Please, come here. At least make a report. Your sister won’t be proud of you if you lost your position.”

Cold air embraced him. The coldness was the only thing he felt since Dealla went missing. The Zenith spread the news that Dealla was abducted by the Desaix family but it wasn’t true.

“They are making our training fast. They want us to graduate already. There’s something wrong.”

Zachary remained silent. Cammi sighed before she ended the call. He received a message, it was from Theo. He sighed before teleporting. He landed right in front of Theo’s office.

He waited for the biometric eye scanner to finish.

Zachary Brouclier detected. Access granted.

The door of Theo’s office automatically opened. Zachary silently entered. The office was well arranged, it reflected Theo’s personality.

Theo was not in his uniform anymore. He was already wearing a white t-shirt and a gray pajama. He was drinking tea but he put the cup on the table and came closer to Zachary.

“Good evening, NPU Theo.”

“Good evening. Take a seat.” he pointed to the chair beside his main table.

“No, thank you. I’m just going to rep-”

“Cammi already reported. I messaged you to have a private conversation.”

It made Zachary interested. He had the feeling that he will like the matter they are going to discuss.

“If it is not related to my training then I must say that I need-” he was pretending that he had no clue.

“This is about your sister.”

A silent moment passed.

“What about her?”

Zachary knew that Theo was somehow closed to his sister. He noticed that he treated her differently but he they didn’t conclude what their relationship was.

“We spotted the Desaix brothers many times after Dealla went missing. They were unseen and quiet but in the past few days, they became active again. But we didn’t saw Lilia even once. She’s the only one who is capable of fighting Dealla’s flair.”

“What’s your point, NPU Theo?”

“I think they are doing a ritual and maybe the Desaix brothers are the ones who are finding the ingredients or whatchaever. You probably don’t understand, but I want you to find your sister. I’ll give your first mission.”

Zachary was confused.

“I know that there-” Zachary stopped when Theo glared at him.

He’s hard to understand!

“Yeah, you’re right. I know what you’re thinking, Zachary. I’m giving you the freedom to do what you want that but there’s a payment.”

“Payment?”

Theo leaned towards him and whispered.

“Cammi.”

Zachary and Cammi were walking silently. The Falling River was clean and quiet. Only the noises of nature can be heard.

“Do you think the story of the Falling River is true?” Cammi spoke.

“It’s just a myth.”

“You think so? What if it’s true and NPU Deal-”

“Why did you come along with me?” Zachary changed the topic. He wanted to ask it Cammi before they left Seacrest but he hesitated.

Cammi did not answer.

“Did NPU Theo told you to kill me?”

“Of course not! He wants me to protect you.”

Zachary raised his eyebrow.

“Oh? I’m speechless.” Zachary said sarcastically.

Cammi remained silent. They continued walking and they stopped when they heard voices.

“Tell me honestly, you want something from me, right?”

Cammi was stunned. Her cheeks became red. She looked away.

“I love you, Cammi.”

Her eyes widened but she did not look at Zachary.

“But, I want to find my sister first and make sure that she’s safe before I’ll give you what you want. I appreciate everything you did. You were the only one who was there for me when Ate Dealla went missing. I hope you’ll understand.”

A long silent moment passed before Cammi responds.

“We’ll find your sister.”

Embriman witches were the first they encountered. Embrima is the most chaotic place. Witches, werewolves, vampires, and the Desaix family were not on good terms.

“Secrestians, you’re still finding that useless girl?”

Christina, the head of the witch's unit. She has curly hair and dark skin. Her smile seems not genuine but that’s how she smiles.

“We want to meet the Desaix Family, not you and your minions,” Cammi spoke, wearing a b*tch face.

“Oh, honey. It happened that you stepped into our territory. We must give you a welcome party.”

Cammi gulped. She can beat them but she doesn’t want to waste time. Zachary held her wrist.

“I’m sorry for disturbing your day, ladies. We’ll leave now.” Zachary did not wait for their response. He teleported together with Cammi.

“What did you do?”

Zachary let her go. He scanned the boundary of the Cansona, it was a tree. He turned to her and answered.

“NPU Theo wants me to visit every place so I’m doing it. Now, we’re in Cansona. Welcome to Cansona, baby.” Zachary said playfully.

Cammi laughed while blushing.

They stayed at the Cansona for few days. They were in NPU Harry’s house. He’s the leader of the Cansona.

“What are you planning, Zach?” they are now heading towards Bulwark, their real destination.

“Enjoying my freedom.”

They arrived at the Bulwark boundary. They tried many times to enter and they failed many times. They became weaker and weaker.

‘Zayn, we’ll do our best. I want to become a Paragon and save humanity.’

Zachary's dream kept on repeating. It was confusing him. He doesn’t have any clue what was all about.

‘Don’t open your eyes until I say so.’

Cammi’s face was the first thing Zachary saw. She looked pale and stressed. Her eyes widened when she saw Zachary opened his eyes.

“Finally. I thought you’re dead,” she said jokingly and hugged Zachary.

“Where..are we?” he was looking around. The surroundings were unfamiliar to him. He saw trees and the air is different from the Seacrest.

Cammi smiled at him.

“We’re in Bulwark,” she said proudly.

He gasped. He knew that Cammi was telling the truth but he can’t believe that they were able to enter Bulwark.

“Yeah, we’re in Bulwark,” Cammi repeated and laughed.

Zachary also laughed.

“Fuck, but how?”

“I don’t know, I was sleeping. When I woke up, I’m already here in Bulwark.”

Zachary nodded but still not able to contain everything.

“But how did you know that this is Bulwark?”

Cammi shook her head and laughed. She distracted herself by preparing food. It was fruits and vegetables.

“I surveyed the area. I gathered a lot of information. And I heard that there’s a girl entered here. She’s a Seacrestian. No one knows her real name but now, they calling her Peony.”

Their conversation went longer. Cammi was able to get useful information. It made them more motivated.
