Trey POV

While on my run, I caught a familiar scent. I'm hoping that my nose was playing tricks on me but lo and behold, you can already guess who was in the middle of the woods. Alone. Kai was going to be in deep shit when I get back. She didn't notice me yet. Instead of approaching her, I sat there. I was curious to know what she was so focused on.

“Who knew her wolf would be this fine-looking? Size and all. I'm more impressed than intimidated. A little aroused even,” I heard Hunter say.

“Quit it, she's not ours anymore.” But I'll admit, her wolf is no doubt a sight for sore eyes.

“I wonder why, jackass. And cut the crap, there's a bond forming. You feel it, I feel it and I'm sure she and her wolf do too.”

“Doesn't mean she'll accept it.”

“She hasn't said anything yet so I wouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions like a rabbit on steroids if I were you.”

Turned out she was just looking at the falling snow and licked off some that got on her face. After that, she rolled around in

There's nothing wrong with it; I'm just a little worried that... too late. He's aroused and I can smell it. That was fast. And no doubt, I caused it.It wouldn't be a big deal if the all too familiar feeling in my pelvic area and between my legs was growing by the second. Yep, his triggered mine. And I'm 100% sure he could smell it. It was obvious when he walked up to me and had an intense gaze on me. Me being me, aka a stubborn motherfucker, I stared back with the same, if not more, intensity. He actually looked impressed. He walked up to me and got on his knee. Him doing that is better than me trying to reach up and failing. He then put an arm around my midsection and pu

Trey POV“It's her, isn't it?” Daisuke asked.“Who?”“You know who.”“I don't know what you're talking about.”“Ok then let me refresh your memory. Your wife or is she someone else?”“Don't you have better things to do?”“I guess you're right. I should start getting to know her better. Maybe I should ask Kai what she's like since you obviously won't. Then maybe I'll start planning on how to spoil my godchild or children.”“That's not what I meant, moron.”“Whatever you say. How old is she again?”“Why do you want to know?”“Are you hiding something?”“Goddess, she’s 22 going on 23.”“Woah.”This is why I didn’t want to say it.“I didn’t know you liked them that young.”“Come on, seriously?”“I’m kidding. But on a serious note, are you sure you want her? Honestly, it doesn’t look good for you and I doubt her father will accept it.”“You’re two years older than me so the stunt you pulled would get you into trouble too. Besides, we’re married so it’s too late for it to matter.”“Isn’t we

Takumi POVI take it back. Taking care of a child full-time is a lot harder than I thought and it's only been a few days. And to think that Twilight has been doing this for a year and a half on her own. No wonder she's always so grumpy and snaps at me. I would too if I were her.Later that night...Twilight POVI got a message from Trey.Just got here. Take your time if you’re not ready. I’ll waitI didn't think that he'd be on time. I made my way downstairs and found him waiting by his car.He showed up in a black dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and the top button undone. It brought out his muscles in a way that was too good to be true or real. How is it possible for anyone to look so fuckable in a simple outfit? And the way his pants hung on his waist. I bet if his belt came off, they'd fall...I wish Asteria would stop putting those ideas and images into my head. And she's been doing this since yesterday. I was hoping she'd be better than Tis in that department but sadly, no.

Trey POVI knew the look in her eyes all too well and, from first-hand experience, that all hell was about to break loose.Without wasting any time, I took her hand and led her outside. When she tried to go back in, I pulled her into my arms and wasn't planning on letting go.“Let me go.” She demanded while struggling. I could feel her wolf trying to take over and I was hoping to keep her restrained this time.“Calm down. Think about the consequences, it's not worth it.”When her eyes went back to their normal colour, I breathed a sigh of relief.“What was that about?”“I don't know.” She shrugged. “By the way, what was with the Ams?”“You told me about your names when we went drinking. I wasn’t sure what to call you in that situation. Too soon?”“No one’s ever called me by it so I don’t know. Do whatever I guess.”“Right. So, why did you lie to everyone and say your pup’s father died?”It was pretty shocking when news got around that she had given birth without anyone knowing that sh

Later...Third-person POV“A fake pregnancy? Really?” She asked him on their way back.“What?”“It wouldn't have hurt you to give me a heads up.”“It was a spur of the moment.”“I think I should be worried about how you’re so good at lying with how easily you pulled that stunt tonight.”“It wasn’t not lying. It was acting and I just know how to keep my cool. It’s easier to tell when I’m lying than you think. And I mostly did it to make the situation less uncomfortable for you.”“Thanks, I guess. Anyway, care to explain the ring?”“I did earlier. Hope you like it, Wifey.”“Fine. As long as you don't call me that ever again.”“Ok. Wifey.” He chuckled.“Seriously?”“I couldn’t resist. And here's your stop.” He said as he pulled up into the driveway.“Wait here.”“Sure.”She went upstairs to put Natsumi to sleep before joining him.“Here's your stuff back. They’ve already been washed, and the shirts are ironed.”“Thanks, but maybe keep them. You never know when I might need clothes to cha

The next morning…Third-person POVTrey wasn’t there when she woke up, but he had left a message on her phone, apologising for leaving without saying anything and saying that he had put the pillows and blankets back in her closet. He had also left a gift basket with a variety of snacks, berries and a bottle of whiskey.Later at the park…“I’m thinking of potty training Natsumi.” She told Takumi.“Oh?”“Yeah. Lately, she’s been embarrassed about asking for a diaper change. Apparently, it’s a sign to start potty training. But it’s entirely up to her. You can help if you want to. That's if she wants to try it.”“Sure.”“Give me a sec. Tsumi, would you like to use the potty on your own?”“No mowe baby pants?”“Yes.”“Ok, I twy.”“Well, that was easy,” He commented.“No kidding. I was thinking of using the three-day potty-training method if she said yes.”“How does it work?”“Basically, she'll be going commando for three days and having extra liquids and fibre. So whatever nice rugs you do

Twilight POVI knocked on the door and waited.“You know; we could just go in,” Asteria said.“You say that as if we own the place.”“He won't mind.”“You don't know that.”I was snapped out of what could've...would've turned into an argument by something tugging at my shirt. I was expecting a pup since they usually do that when they want to talk to me. It's not that I mind, it's kind of cute actually. I just wonder how or why they think it's a better idea to do that instead of just asking. Back to the main focus. But it was just Trey's wolf and from the way he was wagging his tail, he must be excited to see me. A little too excited if you ask me. It's like looking at a large pup. Because of that, I felt the urge to give him head pats and belly rubs.As if he read my mind, he lowered his head and waited expectantly. I guessed that it was for a head pat, so I gave him a few and it earned me a few licks on the face. I guess that makes us even. After a while, he rolled over onto his back

Third-person POVWhen she woke up, she found herself already shifted and back at the cabin with tons of blankets and clothes on. She also noticed that the fireplace was lit and that she had been sleeping on the couch with her head on Trey’s lap. She knew that he was awake when he began caressing her behind her eyes, but she stayed like that and pretended that she was still sleeping. Mostly because she didn’t want to move and was more than happy to stay that way forever. But she then sneezed, and he stopped.“Well, I guess I’m busted,” She said. When she sat up, he pulled her into a tight embrace.“Goddess, I’m so glad you’re ok.”“What are you talking about?”“Long story short, I woke up to find you had shifted. When I brought you, the time told me that we were out for about an hour. But geez, you should’ve told me that you shift back in your sleep so I wouldn’t have let us sleep outside.”“Thing is, I don’t. It’s only the second time that’s it happened, and the first time was years a

    1. Book 2 was never planned. It’s literally based on me putting two brain cells together to come up with ideas cuz the first book exhausted the rest of my brain cells, and I obviously didn’t expect to be writing a book 3. I was going to write one, but now it’ll be book 4 (we’ll get to that another time). 2. Natsumi’s name was originally Hakumei because it translates to twilight. Then I changed it to Koharu (which means little sun) because of her blonde hair, but I decided to make it Natsumi because...I just liked it better ok. 3. Back to the second point, Natsumi was originally blonde like Takumi, but I changed her colour to black to make the genetics thing a little more realistic. 4. In the beginning, Twilight and Trey were already supposed to be together (as in during those three years, she and Trey made up), but I don’t know why I didn’t add it in. 5. Twilight wasn’t supposed to have two wolves, but I thought it would be cool, so I added that. 6. Twilight and Trey were suppose

This is where the second book ends (yay). I’m ending it here because I felt that the storyline was starting to get too long for one book. This means that there’ll be a third book, but (drumroll) it’ll be part 2 of this one. But I’m calling it Mates and Temptations because The Pains of Guilt Part 2 didn’t sound catchy. And as a special little something, I added a bonus chapter after this one and a little blurb about the third book. I don’t have an exact date for when I’ll release book 3 because when it comes to my writing, I hate deadlines (they make me rush things and it affects the quality of my writing). The only reason I had one for this book is that I already had a lot of chapters ready for release long before I finished the first book. Anyway, book 2 will be available for purchase from retailers around mid-January or the first week of February (there's a ton of editing I need to do while also working on book 3). Blurb: Twilight and Trey have finally reconciled and accepted each

Twilight POV Crap. Busted. Wait, no, I haven't done anything yet, so I'm not busted. In fact, why am I acting guilty of doing something I didn't do when I should be pissed right now? “How many?” I asked. “Can you ask a normal question, so I know what you're talking about?” I showed him the wallpaper. “Oh. That.” Is he serious? “That's all you have to say?” I asked. “I was supposed to say more?” “Ok. Well, this is unbelievable.” “It's not as if I can deny it, and besides, it’s just a picture.” “Just a picture? Actually, I'm more surprised by the fact that you're even calling it a picture.” “C'mon, it's not that bad.” Not that bad? He's practically asking me to throttle him right here and now. “Besides, it's my favourite one,” He continued. “Favourite one? You mean there's more?” I'm having a flashback of all the not-so-graceful moments I've had while he was around. And they're a lot. “Yeah.” “Tell me you're joking.” “I'm not.” “I'm never getting comfortable around y

Third-person POVThe next day, Natsumi came into Twilight's room and jumped on her causing her to wake up.“Happy biwthday, Mama.”“Thank you, honey, but you don't have to wake up me like that.”“But excited.”“Sigh. I can't stay mad at that face.”“C'mon, Mama.” She dragged her out of bed. “See pwesent.”“Ok ok. I'm coming.”She was taken to her dad's room.“So, she actually woke you up. I tried to stop her, but she was already gone.”“Pop-pop, give Mama pwesent.”“Alright.”He gave her a gift bag. Inside was a simple, white summer dress with spaghetti straps and black butterflies at the hem.“You likes it, Mama?”“Of course, I do.”“I's best pwesentew.”She didn't want to burst Natsumi's bubble

Thanks.”“Got you pwesent, Papa.” She gave him a gift bag and inside was a watch. “Likes it?”“Yes, I do. So, I'm having dinner with my parents later and they asked me to ask you to come over. If you want to.”“Ok but will...”“Yeah, she'll be there.”“Then I'll have to bring Trey with me. I'm not trying to get even; he'll just be there to stop me from doing something I won’t regret.”“It's alright.”Later that night...“Are you sure you want to eat that much?” Matako asked. “Or are you aiming to pack more pounds than you already have?”

And the wedding is at 9...”In her hurry, she tried to get out of bed, but almost ended up falling off and landing on her face before he caught her.“Not that I'm not taking you seriously, but I think you should slow down a little before you break a bone or two.”“My best friend's been waiting 25 years for this day, and I'm not about to screw it up for her. If I have to break a bone or two, then so be it.”“Alright, but don't attack me. I was just saying.”Half an hour later...She was about to exit the shop when she got an incoming call from Mitsuri. Twilight POVIt’s been almost two weeks since I last spoke to him. Everything is supposed to be fine now, or at least I thought it’d be. This whole thing is bothering me, and it’s not supposed to.I want to call him, but call him and say what? I could start by apologising for bringing up the two-mates thing out of nowhere. Then what? We go back to how things were in the beginning? Honestly, that’s how things should’ve stayed, and maybe, I wouldn’t be so conflicted.Trey POVShould I call her? I’ve been staring at my phone, with her contact on the screen, for who knows how long. I don’t even know if she wants to talk to me.“How long are you going to keep staring at her number?”Daisuke was sitting in front of me.“When did you get here?” I asked.“A while ago. You were so lost that you didn’t even

What are you doing here though? You still have two weeks left.”“I was let out for good behaviour. That or they got tired of the noise I was making every time I beat the daylights out of Daichi.”“The latter sounds more believable. Are you going back to your pack now?”“What if I said later?”“I wouldn’t mind you staying a little longer. Come on,” She took him to her room.“You can use my shower and take a nap or sleep in here afterwards. I got a few things yesterday in case you wanted to stay here, but I forgot to get men’s shower gel. The closest thing I have is a lemon-scented one.”“That’s fine as long as I get to shower. I wouldn’t want my pack to see me in such a pathetic state.”“I’ll leave you to it then. Oh, and a few of your clothes are still in my closet,” She said be

The next night…Third-person POV“May I ask you something?” Trey asked.“You already are but sure.”“I’m curious to know what you do that makes you so tired most of the time. I get that you have a pack and pup to care of, but it doesn’t always add up.”“I have a job, but I do work from home most of the time. Other than that, I do other small things, like helping out in the kitchen whenever we have a pack dinner and the farms on Mondays and Wednesdays. I mostly got into all that after Natsumi’s dad and I split up to keep myself busy. I thought I’d stop after a while, but I guess enjoy it more than I thought I would.”“Would it make any difference if I suggested that you slow down?”“No. Your words would just go in one ear and out the other.”“I thought so,” He sighed."Anyway, you never told me about what you do for work. I remember you mentioning something about pups that one time."“I'm a certified child psychologist. I like working with them, and they feel the same.”“Ah, that's why
