King Fenris, Alpha Damien and Luna Abby ran outside, while King Uther and Aidinth prepared to shift and fight from the air. Aidinth kissed me gently and snuggled close to my neck, “I will be back. I love you.” I put my hand on his cheek and said, “You better come back. I can’t raise three babies by myself. I love you too.” He chuckled and ran to catch up to his dad. I sighed as he ran away, and Queen Chumani guided me to the sitting room.
“Sweetie, he will be fine. They are going to be in the air. There really isn’t any reason to worry,” Queen Chumani smiled as she tried to comfort me, “I’ve been through this more times than I care to count. They have rarely been hurt, and it’s never a serious injury. But I will not jinx it this time. I’m certainly not saying it won’t happen, just that it hasn’t happened before.” I laugh at her superstitiousness, “I know. It still bugs me that he’s out there, without me fighting along side him.” Queen Nina weighs in, “Sweetie, you are helpin

With the war done, Aidinth, Alpha Damien, Luna Abby, and both kings went to the dungeon to question Alpha Dolph and his Beta. When they came back, King Uther immediately got on the phone with the council. They are ones who dole out justice in the wolf species. He told them what happened, and the leader of the council said that we should put both of them to death. King Uther had them taken to the gallows and they were beheaded for their crimes. When they all got back, I suggested, “Alpha Damien and Luna Abby, would you like to see our new house now?” Luna Abby smiled, “We would love to.” We all drove to our house, talking and laughing along the way. I asked, “So how are Nico and Ash?” Luna Abby smiled, “They are great. Ash is getting bullied in school, but she is at the age now that she doesn’t want our interference. We are just supporting her in every way she needs us to now.” I sighed, “I wish kids didn’t have to be so cruel.” Luna Abby says, “Me too, but it is serving a pu
Adrien and Julien showed up, and I said, “I think momma here has been poisoned. What can we do about that?” Adrien said, “I’m not really sure. In the wild, they would have to let it run its course and see what happens.” I shook my head, “Not gonna happen.” I looked at my mate and pleaded, “Do you think dragon blood would help?” He smiled, “It might, I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt.” He took a knife and cut his hand just enough to make it bleed. He held it to her mouth and Saige told her to lick it all up. Momma started licking the blood and started acting like she felt better. I smiled as I watched her move around, “I guess dragons blood works on more than one species.” Aidinth laughed, “I’m glad. These pups still need her.” Saige spoke up, “I asked where she got the poison, and the male said, she found a steak. No one else ate it.” I asked the male, “Will you show Adrien and Julien where the steak is?” He nodded. I said, “They will protect you.” Saige said, “he says he knows. He
As we laughed and talked over breakfast, I couldn’t help but feel how happy and blessed we are that we have friends we can call when we have a problem or just to have a little fun. Luna Abby has always been there for me, since I was that six-year-old girl who only had two girls coming to her birthday party. She has always been there for me, no matter what, and I love her so much for it. As I was lost in thought, I heard Luna Abby yell, “Chloe! Are you okay?” I blinked my eyes, shook my head, and said, “I’m fine. Just got lost in thought. That’s all.” She smiled, “Care to share your thoughts?” I smiled, “I was just thinking of how lucky we are to have friends that we can count on at any time. You two have been there for me since I was a six-year-old girl with only two girls coming to my birthday party. Friends like that are irreplaceable. I have never had a second thought about calling you for anything… even if it was just for fun. You don’t run across those kinds of fr
When we all walked in, we were met with extremely stoic faces, until Adrien and Julien introduced us to the group of seven. Adrien introduced Luna Abby last, “And this is Abigail Riggs and her husband, Damien Riggs. Abby and Chloe have an idea that they would like to present to you, and Julien and I feel that it would go a long way to reduce, or eliminate, the poaching problem we currently have. One of the council members, an older woman with dark black hair, spoke in a harsh tone, “Why is poaching a city problem?” Adrien smiled, “If we keep catching poachers at the rate we are now, this town will soon be a ghost town. They are also becoming violent to Chloe and Aidinth, because they call us every time they hear them on their land.” The woman’s eyes widened, “I apologize for the harsh tone. I am sorry they are getting so crazy. Why don’t you tell us your idea?” Luna Abby starts, “Because of the poaching problems here, we would like to host a carnival and animal education eve
After the meeting, Luna Abby and I went to the chef supply store whileAidinthand Alpha Damien hung out on Main Street. As soon as Luna Abby walked in, she smiled, “Oh boy; this could be dangerous for me. I could really spend some money in here.” Her eyes glazed over, due to a mind link, and she soon said, “And Damien won’t give me a limit to spend. He just told me to get whatever I want.” I laughed, “So, if you can lift it, it’s yours?” She laughed, “That’s about right.” As we walked through the store, I was showing her everything I had. When I showed her my mixer and then told her about howAidinthdecided I needed every attachment, she laughed, “So, your mixer has all these attachments?” I nodded, “Yep.” She smiled an evil smile, “I
I woke up Friday morning in a pretty good mood. We had been working hard on the event all week, and I knew that it was going to be very informative and fun for everyone. Luna Abby and I had been working on the food for the carnival for the last few days. We started with the foods that we knew would be okay if we cooked them ahead of time. Things like chili for the chili dogs, and a few kinds of refrigerated pie. Today, we need to do a sampling of the menu for the carnival for our working lunch at city hall. I took my shower and put on a business casual outfit. I walked downstairs, and Luna Abby was already working on breakfast, “Good m
I smiled a little as I suggested, “Why don’t you all stay over tonight? We have plenty of rooms available for all of you.” Luna Abby gushed, “They have the most comfortable beds you’ve ever tried.I’mdead serious. You will not regret it.” Queen Chumani said, “I will talk to my husband about it. Something tells me he will be fine with that.” After dinner, King Uther accepts our invitation to stay overnight. He sends a couplewarriorsto pick up theirbags, and we stay up preparing for the event. We had all the food prepared, andall ofthe plans have been done. I suddenly thought of one person we needed to talk to.
I turned around and saw one of the first poachers that we caught. I looked at the man like he had three heads, “I am not a tree hugger.I’mnot an activist at all. Come to the presentation at eleven this morning. You will see just how lucky you got.” The man said, “I look forward to it.” We walked away andAidinthsaid, “You do know how hard it was for me to stay out of that, don’t you?” I laughed, “I do know how hard that was for you, and I do appreciate you giving me the chance to handle it myself.” He held me close, “You are my world. I will do everything in my power to keep you happy.” I snuggled closer to him as we walked, “I know. That’s why I love you so much.”
What a ride we have had in these last ten years. Aidinth and I are still blissfully happy with each other, and our kids are amazing. We are still being called to areas around the world to host anti-poaching campaigns. My favorites have been to China, to protect the pandas, and to Africa to protect the wild cats. I fell in love with the wild versions of these animals. The werebears and werecats have been trying to protect themselves as well as the full blood version with a fierceness that I have not seen anywhere else. Mainly because they were getting desperate. Aidinth and I went there and ended up calling Luna Abby in for reinforcements. The poachers for these animals are willing to kill and die for the money they expect to receive for the parts they keep of these animals. It’s crazy and stupid. Money should never be the driving force behind what we do. These poachers do not get it though. We had a lot of poachers locked up in those areas. They won’t be getting out any time soon ei
Six weeks later, we are at home, and I am downright miserable. I am waddling everywhere I go, and Aidinth, somehow, still thinks I'm cute. Today, we have company. Both of my brothers came up to visit and brought Sergio and his wife with them. We have been having a blast. Luna Abby came up yesterday with Alpha Damien and told us that the anti-poaching event in Alaska went great. So far, they have locked up one hundred eighty poachers. They think some may have chosen to get out of poaching altogether. We were all absolutely thrilled at that news. Today, Adrien and Julien came over to meet Sergio, Zaiden, and Allen. They all went on a walk around the woods, and we visited while Luna Abby and I cooked dinner. In the middle of cooking dinner, I felt a warm liquid rush down my legs. I whispered to Luna Abby, "I think my water just broke." She looked at my feet and said, I think so too. She smiled, "Let's get the doctor. Okay?" I nodded and she grabbed my phone. I logged in and she
Saturday morning, I woke up and jumped out of bed. I am so excited about this Pow Wow. I love them so much! Aidinth has never been to one, so he has no idea what to expect. I am super excited, so as soon as I’m done in the shower, I get dressed and walk downstairs. I decide that I want to make Indian frybread, after I finish making breakfast, to set the mood for the Pow Wow. As Aidinth and I are eating breakfast, Luna Abby calls to tell me they are in the building and there must be five thousand people there. I was floored. She said that King Uther made it, along with a few of his warriors, and Gryphon plans on showing up with a unicorn and Pegasus. I chuckled, “Be on the lookout for Sid. You know how he likes to make an entrance.” Luna Abby laughed, “Oh yes he does.” We finished talking about the arrangements, and the plan for the presentation, then we ended the call because she had people approaching her to introduce themselves. I smiled, knowing the event is in good hands
As we sat on the couch eating snacks and laughing at movies, I couldn’t help but wonder what is happening with Luna Abby. I’m sure she is still flying or driving, but it’s eating at me. Aidinth pauses the movie and smiles at me, “You can’t get out of Princess mode, can you?” I shrug my shoulders, “I’m just wondering where they are. That’s all. I know Luna Abby will keep me informed. She’s amazing at that. It just bugs me.” He pulled me close to him, “Do you need to go bake something?” I laughed, “You know me so well. I may need to do that. Let’s finish watching this movie, then I will think about it.” That is when my phone rang. I answered on the first ring without even looking to see who is calling, “Hello?” To my relief, it was Luna Abby, “Hey Princess Chloe, I have Alpha Damien, Gideon Begay, his mate Willow Begay, his brother and second in command, Denali Begay, and his mate, Isla Begay.” I put the phone on speaker and said, “Hello everyone, I am Princess Chloe Bergeron
Aidinth and I sat on the couch, napping, laughing, and watching TV for the rest of the day. Once in a while, I would step outside to check on the wolves. It is so good to see their pups thriving. It feels good to know that I had something to do with that. The white pup has learned to camouflage himself on his own now. The only time he doesn’t is when he is going in our garage for the night. He knows that he is safe in there. I woke up this morning seeing much more sunlight than I am used to seeing. I looked around and realized I’m still on the couch! Did Aidinth leave me down here? I started to get up and found that an arm had a vice-like grip on me. I’m sure it’s just to keep me from falling off, but I really need to pee. I tapped his arm, and he instinctively loosened his hold, without waking up. I walked upstairs to our room, and did my business, then took my shower. I dried myself off and walked to the closet. I put on a pair of maternity leggings and a huge t shirt, bec
Wow. The last three months have been a whirlwind. It has been three months since the event in Louisiana, and it was a major success. The local humans have joined the game wardens in keeping an eye out for poachers. Sergio has discovered that it’s mostly people who come in from out of state that are poaching. The locals who were poaching got caught very quickly after the event. Their own family or friends turned them in. It was nuts for them for a little while, but things have settled down a lot for them. Right now, I’m sitting with Aidinth at the doctor’s office, waiting for my doctor to come in the room. As she enters, she smiles, “So, would you like to find out what you’re having today?” I smiled, “I would love to know, so we can prepare.” She brought the ultrasound machine in, but it didn’t look like the same one she usually uses. I asked, “What is different about that machine?” She explained, “This is a high-definition ultrasound. If we can get them in the right position
When we got to the airport, Aidinth watched the guys unload the car with wide eyes, “Was there anything left in the store?” I laughed, “I couldn’t help it! They had all my favorite clothes in every size that I’m going to need.” He laughed as he wrapped his arms around me, “It’s fine, my love. I know you need them.” Then he put his hands on my belly, “They did seem to triple in size overnight.” I nodded, “I know.” We got on the plane, and I sat down. I took a deep breath and suddenly felt a little flutter in my stomach. I put my hand on it, and it happened again. This time, I could feel it from the outside too. I must have had a weird look on my face, because Aidinth asked, “Are you okay?” I smiled, “More than okay.” I motioned for him to sit down, and he did. I took his hand and put it over the spot where the baby was moving. His eyes glistened with unshed tears, “That is the coolest thing ever. That’s my child in there.” I nodded and he kissed me tenderly, then he said, “Things are
As we made it to town, I started noticing kids just walking around town. I asked Queen Judia, "What's going on with the kids? Why are they just walking around?" She shrugged her shoulders, "I really don't think they have much to do. They are in town, because it's more boring at home, and there is no school today." I asked, "Do you have a fairly large area that I can use to give them something to do?" She said, "We have a park, but it's not that big. It's mainly for the little ones. But it is big enough to add on to it." I smiled, "Why don't we go over there first. Seeing these kids like this is really bugging me." Queen Judia laughed, "Let's go." When we got to the park, I agreed that this was mainly for little kids. I smiled, "Let's give the bigger kids something to do." I suggested, "First, how about an obstacle course?" The kids gathered around us, and I greeted them all, "Hey guys! I'm about to improve your park, so there is something for you all to do. First, how
When we got back to King Mateo’s castle, we ate a late dinner, and sat outside in lounge chairs by the water and just enjoyed each other’s company. We had been talking and laughing until I heard a hiss, and a ball was thrown into my lap. I laughed as King Mateo shook his head, “Chloe, you have spoiled him beyond belief.” I laughed at Hugo, “Youaren’tspoiled, are you, Hugo? You just love me.” Hugo nodded his head and made a hissing sound that sounded like a laugh. Everyone laughed at what he did. Queen Judia laughed, “Chloe, you make him do things that I have never seen him do.” I laughed, “That’snothing. Watch this.” Then I looked at Hugo, “Can I hug you, Hugo?” He nodded his head and I levitated him to my eye level. I was petting his face, and said, “I need a hug. Is that okay?” He nodded and I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him. Aidinth chuckled, “I never thought I would be jealous of an alligator.” I put Hugo down and tossed the ball f
