Violet's POV
I have been alone with my thoughts since he left me, the oblivion of how things would be from now on has got me brooding with several questions on my mind.
"When will this contract end?", I said aloud.
"Can't wait to get done with these, it's driving me crazy", I said aloud again.
I needed a break from what life has been bringing my way since all these days ranging from my relationship to my stressful low paying job and a nasty job, so I never bargained for these new events and it's really driving me crazy.
I laid on the bed for hours and thought to call my mom's number but decided against it as Ansel warned me against doing that majorly for my safety and that of my family and even if I wanted to there is no phone.
I looked up and discovered it was around past 1 in the afternoon and I had not freshen up, so I moved into the bathroom to shower and got dressed in no time.
My stomach needed food as I couldn't eat well in the morning due to the way Ansel stared at me all through the breakfast.
I left the room to go to the kitchen and got down to work, Ansel wasn't home, soon after he left my room in the morning I saw him drive out of the.
I decided to make some pasta and while at it I decided to prepare Ansel's food alongside mine.
The food was almost done and I felt pressed, I couldn't hold it anymore and I went out into the living room but I couldn't find any so I had to go upstairs, I ran upstairs to relieve myself and spent sometimes up there.
That was my undoing, maybe I should have just switch off the fire before going up because the food had gotten really burnt before I got back, there was alot of smoke in the kitchen and I was coughing so much and loudly.
"What the heck is happening", came a familiar voice from my back and I looked back to see Ansel in a dark blue suit with black trouser looking at me so surprised.
I was engrossed with what I was doing that I didn't notice when he got in.
"Can't you do without giving me lesser troubles?", he said this time around looking so angry.
"I'm so sorry, I was just trying to prepare something for us so that you won't bother yourself when you get back". I said trying to defend my actions but he wasn't having it.
"Why should you bother?", he quizzed further.
"Did I not ask you to stay put inside your room", he said again this time raising his voice that I was so afraid that he may hit me.
"I never meant any harm, I was j-", I was trying to explain myself further.
"Will you just shut it", he yelled cutting me shut.
He moved to the window to open it, while I moved to the pot to take it away from the cooker but let me guess that was my greatest undoing at that moment as the pain from the hotness of the pot handle was so excruciating.
I screamed in serious pain and teared up a little bit as the pot fell off my hand and it's content was scattered all over the kitchen.
I went in my kneels immediately in pains with tears in my eyes looking at my red palm that has suddenly home reddish.
He looked at me, came closer moving away from the window and examined the mess on the floor in the kitchen.
"Leave this place right now, just go to your room", he said calmly this time around.
"But-", I tried to come to my defense and get him to pity me but he wasn't having it anymore.
"Common leave, I don't want to see you", he yelled at me again.
I left without arguing this time around picking up my pace as I ran into the room.
"I should have stay put and not overdo things", I said regrettably as I entered the bathroom to clean up myself.
I came out after a thorough shower and met him waiting for me inside the room, he had taken off the suit and tie and had folded his white shirt which is still tucked to his shirt.
He looked at me and I can't just place his expression rightly either pity or annoyance, I couldn't tell at that instant.
"Sit", he said sounding so authoritative this time around revealing a balm in his hand.
Well I wasn't ready to be yelled at this time around, so I sat sitting at the other side of the bed not so sure of what next to expect from him.
He reached for my palm and looked at it so closely, he had a slight frown on his face and used the balm to rub my palm, I winced slightly in pain but he didn't say a word as he was so indifferent to my pain.
"Take that for dinner, I got it on my way back", he said pointing to a take out on the table.
I wanted to thank him but words failed me
"And stay put in bed after dinner because I can't have any troubles again coming from you, I've gotten quite alot on my plate", he added.
He got no reply from me again, he moved towards me this time around to examine my face but I moved my face away slightly from him, my face was all puffy and teary.
He moved to me this time closer and wanted to touch my face which I moved away from him though a bit slightly, he stretched his hand but kinda decided against touching my face as he withdrew it.
I watched him leave finally left without a word and stared into the sky as I thought of the recent events.
"Who is this man?", I asked myself finally as I continued to stare into the sky.
