The students were all in a crazy trance that I couldn’t reverse. “Great,” I said. “I can’t shut down any of their minds.”
“Of course you can’t, my dear.” Thorne laughed haughtily. ”I have shielded their minds from you. Let’s see how you fare against your peers. Students, please apprehend these ominous rebels.”
The students charged toward us, ready to tear us apart.
Adrian said, “I don’t think we can face them all.”
“We can’t. Run!” Eric commanded.
We all ran as fast as we could to escape chancellor Thorne and her traumatized hybrid soldiers. But before we could, I stopped to carry Natalie.
