~Daphne’s Point of View~
They have to have a phone here, they have to. I was absolutely promised I could change my mind! I need a damn bat signal, someone to come get me!
Mind changed like you wouldn’t BELIEVE!
#Regret #DeepRegret
I could hear lots of voices outside my hospital room, and some kind of commotion. Then … I smelled it. My stomach immediately soured and I gagged, leaning over the bed to throw up.
The sound of it hitting the floor was somehow worse, and the door flew open as I continued to heave. It was mostly water, since I’d probably swallowed so much. Doesn’t really matter how good a swimmer you are if the current is strong. Too strong. Oh and you smack your head on a rock and get a concussion.
What an idiot you are Daph!
“What the fuck is that,” I gagged, as more of the smell filtered in.
I choked and threw up more since the idiot in my room had a follower who was holding the door open. Did something die and then something else ate it and puked it up and died?
“Let me help you,” someone said, and I felt hands in my hair.
“Make it stop, the smell,” I cried, heaving again.
“What an asshole,” one of them mumbled.
I heaved again, but anything in my stomach was now gone. I used a free hand that didn’t have vomit to cover and plug my nose.
“Please open a fucking window, do something,” I muttered, then grabbed at the bed sheet to cover my face.
Then I was being lifted, carried, and I could hardly protest as long as wherever the hell I was going was away from here.
“I’ve got you,” I heard, as I closed my eyes and just held on. I felt beyond weak and pathetic, it was all I could do at any rate.
When I felt the sun and wind hit me I dropped the cloth from my hand and breathed in so hard it made me choke again for a different reason.
“You’re okay, do you need a drink,” the voice asked.
I kept my eyes shut, somehow it helped with the nausea. I shook my head.
“I can hold her,” the other voice said. They sounded so similar.
“We’re good,” I heard, as something rubbed against my neck. A nose?
I definitely didn’t want to admit I liked it, but it was warm and comforting. And I was lonely as shit. But I was not even remotely here to tickle my fancy. This was supposed to be all about business. Right now I’m in the business of getting the hell out of here!
“Down,” I mumbled.
“Really I think you just need--”
“Down,” I shouted, popping my eyes open.
I cocked my head to the side as I took in the hot guy from the other side of the river. Even a knock to the head couldn’t possibly make me forget him. The functioning side of my brain immediately noted he was sans shirt. How about down under? I could do with that view again!
No! No! No! Bad girl! Focus!
“Down … please,” I said, sarcastically.
He made a face but tried to stand me on my feet. Instant dizziness set in yet I couldn’t possibly show it. I quickly wrapped myself in the sheet and tried to take a step but my legs weren’t in function mode and I collapsed right away.
“Hey there, take it easy,” I heard, as strong arms caught me.
Ohh who’s this one?
Smells good, and those blue eyes… Almost like the ocean. Light brown sandy hair and a killer smile. Tan like a lifeguard, dark and almost glowing. His body was cut and his abs had abs. He was only in small shorts I quickly noted as my eyes trailed his … happy trail.
“Do you use a tanning bed,” I asked, cocking my head to the side. It was all I had. Pathetic. What am I going to say? Can I see you naked? I already saw this other guy and well…
I’ll just say, memorable. Yeah, may even have to go as far as a 9.9 out of 10.
He looked at the other one and shook his head.
“Not sure what that is beautiful,” he said, as he put my arm around his shoulders.
I shivered a bit at his compliment. God, when was the last time a guy looked at me like he wanted to devour me? Had it ever happened? If it had, this guy definitely set the bar a thousand times higher.
“I’m Christian, what’s your name,” he asked, making my insides flip.
I licked my lips, wanting to commit every part of him to memory.
“And I’m Vance, do you remember me from this morning? Across the river,” he asked, getting in my face and practically shoving the other away.
I stepped back for a minute and took them both in.
“Are you… twins,” I asked, cocking my head to the side.
There were certainly similarities though Vance had darker brown hair and near purple eyes. How is that possible? My head moved back on Christian as I took in his clear light blue eyes.
Both of these guys were T-R-O-U-B-L-E if I’d ever seen it.
“We’re uhm, actually triplets. Our third is around somewhere,” Vance said, scratching his neck.
He turned slightly to the side and I gaped as I took in a massive silver marking on his back. It seemed to shimmer a bit under the sun. Is it a tattoo?
My feet moved on their own, desperate to check it out more. He saw what I was doing and grinned. He turned to allow me better access as I ran my fingers over it in awe.
“Jesus, did this hurt,” I said, as Christian turned and moved in front of me too.
He had the exact same thing. Without a second thought I touched it, and they both practically moaned. I snatched my hands back and more fully wrapped myself in the sheet.
“It’s a birthmark, our birth right,” Vance said, turning to show me his proud face.
“You gonna tell us your name,” Christian asked, turning back to face me. I snatched my hand back to my own body and made a face.
“Why bother, I’m leaving,” I said, turning to walk away.
I could swear they both laughed, but it was quiet so maybe I was imagining it. Surely they were mocking me in some way though, I was certain of it.
When it was obvious they were following me I decided to make a pathetic attempt at getting information, but my feet didn’t stop.
“How often does the helicopter come to the island,” I asked, remembering that we’d had to take the flight here from the mainland and it had been well over an hour.
So… definitely not hopping in the ocean and trying to make it anywhere. I had no clue how many miles it had been but certainly a lot and I’m not the best swimmer.
“A couple of times a year if we’re lucky,” one of them said.
I stopped abruptly and pulled the sheet tight around me before turning to face them.
“I… I could be stuck here for months,” I asked, timidly.
“Forgive me for saying honey but didn’t you choose to come here? I know the scavengers don’t just kidnap females. That was outlawed decades ago,” Vance said.
I made a face at that and spun around to keep walking. Though the rough terrain of rocks, dirt and who knows what bugs I was stepping on quickly reminded me I wasn’t wearing shoes.
“There weren’t exactly a ton of promising available options for me. But clearly this was a mistake and I don’t have any idea what that ridiculously hairy oversized ogre was going on about, but I am not some prize he won. If he thinks he is getting anywhere near me he’s gonna lose an eye,” I snapped, as I stepped on something that then made me gasp.
I immediately winced in pain and lifted my foot, it was dripping with blood and had a huge gash right up my arch. Before I could even move or do anything I was being lifted again. The sting of the pain hit me and I realized it must be a deep cut, but surely where it was didn’t help a bit. There was no way I didn’t slice a tendon, gah!
“Damn it! Ohhh, owwie owwie,” I whined, exhaling harshly.
I looked up into the mysterious violet eyes of the man holding me. Vance was it? Why does he have to be so yummy looking?
I felt hands on my foot and on my leg but those eyes. I bet he makes all the ladies drop their panties with those. His high cheekbones, his smooth skin.
The sound of a rip took me out of my love spell and I looked down to see Christian with a big smile on his face.
“Should be all better in a few minutes Omega,” he said, proud of himself. I then gasped in shock as he licked some of my blood off his fingers. I wiggled my toes and rotated my foot, the pain was already a lot less.
He must have wrapped it up and made a bandage. But it certainly would not be better in a few minutes! Damn it, a cut like that will take a couple of days at best to get right, certainly before I can just be walking again.
“Put her down Vance, and don’t you dare try to--”
The loud, harsh voice cut through what had been a calm, nice air. Vance spun us around and I was faced with another ogre, similar to the hairy freak from earlier.
“You can’t have her,” Vance said, his tone matter of fact.
“Yeah? Well you’ve had her for all of ten minutes and she’s already cut and bleeding. Clearly you can’t care for her,” the man said, as he rubbed his thick fingers through his beard.
God now nasty, there’s probably food still stuck in there from last week. I’m not at all a fan of facial hair but especially when it's on a caveman who doesn’t have access to a comb or shampoo. His friend who snatched me from the river looked the same. Never said no to a doughnut either I bet!
Well, like I had. But anyhow!
“Back off Darrow this isn’t your fight,” Christian said, stepping toward him.
“The hell it isn’t. You’d do well to remember who won her and bring her back,” Darrow said, clearly not budging.
“Hello? Are you all just gonna talk about me like I’m not here? Cause I am. Nobody is winning me. Nobody is anything to me! And you, you put me down right now,” I snapped, looking back at Vance.
He made a face but did so. I lunged toward the hairy ogre and put my finger in his face.
“You tell your friend thanks for saving my life but if my life is with him I’ll just jump in the damn river again,” I shouted, and collected up the sheet to storm off. I had only my bra and panties on under here so for now, the sheet was my friend.
I took two steps and gasped. Then I put my bad foot forward and all of my weight on it. No pain! I jerked the sheet up and fully well saw the bloody makeshift bandage. Christian then appeared and pulled it off.
“See? All better. Nobody can care for you like I can,” he said, as he kissed the top of my foot.
“But… But how? What the…” I stammered, trying to make sense of it.
“What is going on here,” I heard, making me look up.
I nearly had to crane my neck to fully take in the man standing before me now. He had on a robe, an honest to God green silk robe out here in the damn jungle. It had to be 90 degrees or more. It was barely tied at his hips and all I could think about was if that was all he was wearing. So far gone was I that I didn’t even notice he had a crown on his head.
A crown?
“Your son seems to think he knows better than the rules of the hunt, your majesty. This female was saved from drowning and claimed by my brother Barrett. He won her fair and square,” Darrow said.
But my eyes were stuck on the mesmerizing purple eyes staring down at me that nearly sparkled in the sun.
“We both found her at the same time father. She jumped in the river to get away from Barrett, clearly she doesn’t--”
“Enough,” the big man said, with a wave of his hand.
Then that same hand reached down and wrapped around me like I was nothing, a damn toothpick.
“Whoa! Hey,” I shouted, as I was thrown over his shoulder.
I rushed getting this book signed because of the editors going on holiday for ten days. Unfortunately I am not ready to begin daily updates until February. Please add to your library so you can get an alert when I update! This book follows The Omega's Twin Hybrids but both are a stand alone books. Thank you for reading!
“Put me down you oversized drag queen lumberjack,” I shouted, as I kicked and tried to wiggle free. He didn’t say a word, just kept walking. Nice view of his tight ass but otherwise not the ideal way to spend ten minutes. When he slowed a bit I began to fight him harder, trying to get down. SLAP “Ow, what the hell,” I yelled, when he smacked my butt. “That will teach you to defy me and also to learn some manners,” the man said, as if he were put out. “Well look here buddy, I am the one who is put out! I am the one being held hostage and-” “Gregor, really,” I heard, from a female’s voice. The sounds of heavy feet running filled the air as the lumberjack flipped me over and then I was airborne and trying to scream. Nothing came out but some weird noises that made no sense. Strong arms caught me midair before I could hit the ground. I was a panting mess, trying to catch my breath. I squealed when I realized that somewhere along the way I lost the sheet and quickly tried to cover m
~Daphne’s Point of View~ Freaky, giant bird claws. That’s what my hands were currently resting on. That’s what was currently holding me as we flew up, up and away. “Uhh, yeah this is like cool and all but I like the ground. Uhm, I like uhm, the ground. A lot,” I mumbled, as I popped one eye open. I was once on a roller coaster, one of the very few outings in high school. It took me half an hour of a pep talk to even get on and I had my eyes shut the whole time as I told the seatbelt how much I loved it. How I was its friend. How I believed in the seatbelt. Definitely no buckle up here. It really was a breathtaking view. Clear blue ocean with a clean sandy beach, snow capped mountains in the distance. Pristine forest all over. Lots of … sharp … pointy things. Things that would hurt. The wind he was creating was enough right now, hitting me smack in the face without so much as a hello. It was clear he was going toward the mountain, and it looked damn cold there. Just as I had tha
~Christian’s Point of View~ I watched helplessly through my wolf Scout’s eyes as the Omega was led away. The good news was that Liam didn’t accidentally kill her, but the bad news was that she was a million more times pissed off than before. And fuck if that didn’t turn me on. She was even more beautiful mad with her nose flared and her eyes narrowed, looking like she could burn the whole place down. There was probably something seriously wrong with me for how much I liked her like that. Being in her under clothes didn't hurt. Her skin was smooth and looked so soft. I couldn’t blame her a bit for being angry but we’re always led to believe that all the females who come here desperately want to be. Like its the highlight of their entire existence to find a shifter mate, which it should be. For her to keep saying it's a mistake and she’s leaving just punches me in the gut every time. *She is our female, I know it,* my wolf said, matter of fact. He sighed and kicked at the water a bi
~Daphne’s Point of View~ I watched as one of the biggest men I’d ever seen in my life playfully fed Gabby grapes and cooed at her as if she were a cat. Or a poodle. Some little animal. He had to be three times her size and I was desperate to know what kind of hybrid he was, though I was quickly learning that didn’t necessarily mean shifter. What was sex like with the two of them? Weird… There were actual fairies apparently. I had no clue if that meant like a little Tinkerbell or an elf or what the hell. But apparently hybrid human can be a very vague term. I rubbed my hands on the weird material of the dress Gabby had given me. Hemp? Definitely didn’t seem like cotton. It was kinda itchy and I had to hope my skin would adapt because going naked wasn’t an option. I also needed more bras and pretty quick. I had come with some clothes, and I hoped like hell they were somewhere. “Ohh Tracy,” Gabby said, playfully swatting at him and laughing. I nearly snickered. Giant lumberjack Hulk
~Daphne’s Point of View~ “No… no it can’t…” “Wake up Greta…” My lungs tightened and I couldn’t breath, yet somehow a huge scream was escaping my lips. “Hey, shh, it’s okay…” I whimpered and cuddled further into the warmth that surrounded me. The visual of my sister in the bathtub faded away with the new feeling of comfort. Of feeling safe and secure. My hand roamed warm skin and … hair? Yelch! My eyes popped open to see Barrett’s face merely inches from mine. I gasped and for some reason my instant reflex was to snap my legs together. Yet when I did they only molded around one of his. Why the fuck is his leg between mine?! “Why… What…” I said, still trying to wake up. Though I was pretty alert now. “You were having a dream. It must not have been nice,” he said, as he stroked my cheek. I jerked my hand away from his chest and put it on mine. “Did you… Did you sleep in here,” I asked, looking around. I had no idea what time it was but the sun was on full blast and unlike
~Liam’s Point of View~ *She’s clueless,* my beast said, licking his lips. He liked it that way, he liked the Omega needing some guidance. I wasn’t so sure. My brothers had raided her personal information. She was an orphan, no family. No home. A shifter happened to find her and steer her into one of our safe houses. It didn’t get much more of a blank slate than Daphne Patterson. Two names … it was weird. But she is stubborn, seems to think there is something better waiting for her at home anyhow. My dragon and I knew all we needed to know. She was strong and willful, clever and determined. And that body. Fuck. It’s all I’ve been able to think about since I first saw her. I’d flown overhead to survey the Omegas and spotted her immediately. She stood out unlike anyone I’d ever seen. Long, flowing brown hair and a full soft body. Unlike most female shifters with little to no hair, kept short and zero softness. Most Omegas are not that intelligent, only concerned with trivial things.
~Daphne’s Point of View~ “It’s just the best, there’s no rush like it,” Dwayne said. Maybe it was Devon? Derek? Aw fuck if I know. Fuck if I care! Nice on the eyes, probably would give me half an hour to remember, that’s about it. I stifled a yawn as the eighth man in a row told me how much he loved shifting and hunting. I’m sure it’s great, a massive thrill. But it's something I’ll never experience and never know. So hearing about killing and eating an animal as it slowly dies between your big teeth doesn’t really do it for me. Are there no non-meat eating hybrids at the Sky Light? It’s enough to turn me into a lettuce head. Even the two fairies I spoke with only wanted to talk about hunting! I had a lot of questions there, but was too scared shitless to ask. They were some very odd characters and everything in my body told me to stay away. When Rose said I was to have a date with every single interested man I shot that shit down real quick. I explained the premise of speed dati
~Daphne’s Point of View~ ~The Next Day~ “They’re all ready for you,” Cassandra said, as I nearly fell over. I looked at the first man in line and nearly choked on my lemonade. “Hey beautiful,” I heard, as I blinked through sleepy eyes to see Barrett. Isn’t the entire reason I’m doing this speed dating shit because I told him no? God he doesn’t give up does he? I suddenly sat up straight and looked him over. The last time I’d seen him he certainly looked a lot better, cheery and rested. It was clear he hadn’t really slept. He gave me a smile but it was obvious he was nervous. Sad even. Because of me?? A weird feeling of absolute guilt washed over me unlike anything I’d ever felt. I’m always the ugly duckling, the reject. But damn … I did that to someone. Shit I hadn’t even thought of it like that! Okay okay so now what? Light? Keep it light. “Hey yourself, you doing okay,” I asked, surprised that I cared. But damn even though I really didn’t want this guy like at all, I didn’
~Winnie’s Point of View~ ~One Year Later~ “I’m so nervous I should have worn an adult diaper! Ohh, having so many babies has not been kind to me,” Grace whispers as our limo pulls up to the premier. We all absolutely burst out laughing, and I go on so bad I’m afraid of crying and ruining my make-up. Grace had taken a small, non-speaking role in the film but also refused to be in the credits. She wore a wig and definitely looked different, but someone will notice. All of her children had non-credited roles too. I rub my little baby bump and Tyler does too. Our little guy Hawley is at home with all of his cousins, but his twin sisters get to come along for the big night. I can’t believe I’m pregnant again but I couldn’t be more excited. When I see my name next to Ty’s in big lights, my stomach flips. Finch and Jack both reach for me, and pull me so hard I fall out of the seat. “We’re so damn proud of you,” they both say, at the same time. I giggle and rub their backs. *Don’t cry
~Tyler’s Point of View~ ~One Month Later~ I watch my beautiful bride from across the room and just fall more in love with her with each passing minute. She couldn’t be more perfect, more than I deserve… But I try not to dwell on that. It was a damn shame I didn’t trust any of my family enough to even bother telling them about asking to marry her, and then actually marrying her. We’d made a statement on social media that our wedding would be in a few months but we jumped the gun and married right in Grace’s backyard just a week after our engagement. It was perfect. Vic was my best man and Grace was her maid of honor. Scotch was the ring bearer and Winnie gave her a beautiful bow to signify marrying her too. Both of her brothers gave her away, she claimed that was what she wanted. I don’t know much about her dad, even now though he was there. In the span of a month I found the girl of my dreams, her wolf, and now… she’s having our baby. She got pregnant likely from the weekend we g
~Winnie’s Point of View~ “Hi,” I whisper, as I open my eyes to see Tyler’s green ones staring at me. Pure happiness fills me and Hailey is so content she’s still sleeping away. The feeling of his warm skin under mine is all I want forever. He is mine, and I am his. “Hi beautiful,” he says, rubbing my back. I can hear the pups already awake, I can feel the connections of my brothers’ animals, they’re up too. But this moment is so perfect I can’t let it end. “This must be what Christmas morning feels like to a human child,” I whisper, as he grins. “This Christmas will definitely be…” he trails off as his face changes. I look at him in confusion. “I… I completely spaced on using a condom last night,” he whispers. My eyes grow wide, realizing the gravity of his words. I hadn’t noticed either, I was so damn excited. Is he mad? “Ohh, uhm, well my fertile time isn’t until next week but…” I say, as Hailey wakes up like a drunken sailor. *Hi ho! Morning,* she chirps. He gives a dry l
~Tyler’s Point of View~ We make all the introductions and go through all the motions of small talk, even having dinner. Grace has a cook like I do, but with all these kids I’d say it's more for their sanity than anything. Three of them had to eat different things from what we did, and I assume it's just easier than a fight. Because I was that picky kid, and thankfully the staff were instructed to do as I said, even before I was in kindergarten. “I called in the babysitter for the night, she’ll get the kids to bed so we can talk. If you have a million questions, throw ‘em at me! I wish I could have had someone to ask outside of these two. Though now I’m actually close with my father’s mistress who is a shifter, but that’s another story,” Grace says, as we move into the family room. I raise my eyebrow at her omission. I love how open and friendly they all are, and it’s not fake. It’s not forced. They’re not afraid to show me that no matter how much is in your bank account, everybod
~Winnie’s Point of View~ I’ve never had very vivid dreams but last night it was as if Hailey was personally controlling everything. Dreams of pups, running and playing. They have Tyler’s green eyes and my thick brown hair. They’re a bit mischievous like Finch and I adore it. But does Tyler even want kids? Human males his age are not even remotely thinking about families, settling down. He’s completely career obsessed. How can I fit into that world let alone with a family? Not to mention he’s a whole world away from where I live. Where I need to be to feel whole and at ease. Even Atlanta is half a country away. I pop my eyes open to find I’m alone, and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit it stings. But I remember him from yesterday morning and realize he’s probably working out. The bedside clock shows it’s just past 9am. His bed is impossibly soft, the sheets are silk against my skin. Who knows, maybe they are actual silk. Whatever they are, they’re him. His musk and his warmth still wr
~Tyler’s Point of View~ “Let’s move in the house,” I whisper, finally pulling away to catch my breath. My dick is literally inches from thrusting inside her, it’s suddenly all I can think about. There’s never been a time, even my first time when I was fourteen that I’ve not assumed a woman is just using me. They always want something, always. There hasn’t been a female who hasn’t asked me for money, for gifts, for help with their career. They want a picture with me to post online. Winnie obviously doesn’t need money, that’s a huge plus. She really doesn’t need to work or need a career. So what’s her angle? We both get out of the pool naked, and I certainly don’t miss the color in her cheeks when her eyes scan my body. I hate to admit I’ve seen shifter porn but at this point, who hasn’t? Those guys are not only ripped but they’ve practically got elephant trunks that put human porn stars to shame. There’s no way she couldn’t get one with the snap of her fingers. I know my dick is mor
~Winnie’s Point of View~ *Hmm, so good. I mean maybe not as tender as I’m used to…* Hailey moans, tearing apart a raccoon. I hear footsteps in the woods, and the sound of a dog trotting. *He’s looking for us, sooo cuuuute! He likes us,* Hailey coos, as she pulls another piece of meat. I swoon just thinking about it. I shouldn’t have, but when I went upstairs to get undressed I searched online whether or not he has a girlfriend. Basically … no. But there were hundreds of pictures of him with women. “Hollywood’s serial bachelor.” Apparently there was also a film he did a few years ago where he played a gay male in the army and he kissed men and had sex scenes. So yeah, there’s a definite rumor mill about whether or not he’s in the closet. Is that something I can just ask him? *Why not! We deserve to know,* Hailey says, matter of fact. In the scene we did today, we should have kissed. We were literally right there, lost in each other’s eyes and in the moment. Inches apart. Then e
~Tyler’s Point of View~ “We killed it! Killed it! Guaranteed Oscar performance,” I rave, though I could give a shit about the awards. Suddenly I’m filled with the need to make this happen for Winnie as much as I want it for my career. Not to mention I’m desperate to see what they offer me to sign on. This role is exactly what I need to be taken seriously as an actor. Hawley is strong but sensitive and caring. He’s a beast in bed but also in the wild, determined to prove he’s just as much of a bad ass as any hybrid. That’s already how I feel looking at Winnie. I’m suddenly more overprotective of her than I’ve ever felt over anyone. I hear the low growl of her stomach and decide I’m not ready to go home. We need to celebrate. The five people who were in the room as we filled it with our magic, our hot and intense chemistry were absolutely fucking blown away. Audition my ass! That’s how you fucking do it! Be the first one in, kill it and get the roles on the spot. Tyler Hudson auditi
~Winnie’s Point of View~ “No I can’t talk to your dog,” I laugh, my belly practically hurting with the very idea. Though I had to wonder if a telepathic fairy could pick up on emotions or perhaps thoughts. I’ll tuck that away. He doesn’t look convinced by my response and his face looks beyond sexy. Then again, I’ve been around this backyard with him all night and there hasn’t been a single second I haven’t wanted to jump his bones. Goddess help me. I already had promised that later this week I’d take him to Atlanta to meet Grace. I can’t even begin to imagine how incredibly lonely he must have felt all these years not knowing there are others like him in the world. I feel beyond blessed and lucky to have had such a close family. To have older brothers that are always there for me and have always been there to teach me any and everything. Until they weren’t. The day they left was devastating to me and while I do have other siblings they’re not Jack and Finch. I yawn and stretch
