Lyne felt a cotton fabric beside her and she squeezed it, trying to feel him. She exhaled and turned sideways, placing her arm on the bed. When she didn't feel anybody save the cotton cloth, her eyes flung open. That was when the memories came rushing in. She sat up and took in all the details in the room she was sleeping. It had a familiar scent. Almost like she was home. A mantelpiece faced her and when she looked to her left side, she could see a high table with lots of books on it. It was organized and looked more like cleaned out. Unlike what she saw when she last came here. Looking to her right side, she saw the door to the room open. She got down, noticed the change of clothes, and went through the door. She was met with drawn curtains and a tall, well-dressed, or well-armored woman, holding a mug and looking outside the window."You're up so early." She called and Chloe turned, shocked a bit."So, are you." She replied, leaving the window."I don't wanna think about the fact
Lyne left Chloe’s room and headed for the palace as instructed. As she came in through the big entrance, she saw Zeidan sitting on the throne with so much worry written all over his face. She was very surprised to see Luana leaning against the wall behind the throne. She seemed worried too, but as she noticed her walking in through the palace door, the worried look left her and was replaced with disdain. She walked through the big long table that was in the center of the room surrounded by four chairs on either side and one at the far end of the table. As she approached them, Luana stepped forward, and then she prepared herself for what was coming. "Now look who we have here, it’s her majesty, The Queen her royal highness," Luana said as she walked towards her. "I did not come here for you Luana and I don’t have time for this either."She noticed the anger building up in Luana. "But you had the whole time in the world to neglect your duties as the future queen of this kingdom, didn
Seated on his chair in his office, facing the door, Shelbrooke knew he had little chance of winning the war against Vampire City. Not with the presence of Luana. But he believes with a clear-cut strategy, he could be victorious. That is why he had called this meeting to strategize on how to launch their attack on the City without being noticed. He leaned forward, placing his hands on the table before him, and looked at Reyns who was seated beside Gorge on the sofa to his left. "You promised to find a way to get rid of Luana, we can’t attack her in Vampire City, and it would be suicide." He said looking at Reyns. "About that, I was able to convince her to leave the city. I can assure you she will not be there next week." Reyns replied convincingly. "How did you manage to do that?" Gorge asked rather confused. "You know Rob, one of Luana’s father’s army, his trusted messenger; I disguised as him and went to Vampire City."Shelbrooke and Gorge listened with so much interest."I foun
Lyne began to pack her bags and started getting ready for her journey back to South Park where she could stay with her family and feel safe. She could not live with the thought of Luana being a better queen than her. She knew Zeidan will also be considering making her queen and with the way things are, with the way she got away with almost everything, even after Zeidan reassured her that there was nothing to be afraid of, she still did not feel safe. She was not bothered about being Queen anymore. As far as she was concerned, Zeidan could go on to give Luana that title as she stood a better chance and would make a better queen than she will ever be. Luana deserves it more than she does as she was a better fighter. Now all that mattered to her was the survival of her unborn child. She and Zeidan shared the same place for keeping clothes, making it hard for her to pack her clothes. It was made of a well-polished Oakwood. She packed out all the clothes on her side of the cupboard and pl
The soft breeze lifted some strands of hair off her face as she rode her horse through the narrow pathway between the tall trees. This was her only chance and she mustn't miss it. If her mother was going to die, she'd better tell her everything she had been keeping in her mind for a long time. As Luana kept moving, she remembered her last days in her Father's house as a soldier. Strong and brutal. Loyal and hardworking. Never taking no for an answer. Images of the evening she had just arrived from the battleground clouded her mind. Her twenty-one-year-old self just returned from war."Father, I'm back." She had called as soon as she arrived inside the mansion, housing a strong chief of the army of Vampire City and his wife. "I made sure to close in on the intruders as soon as they tried maneuvering through the forbidden steeps, killing a handful of them. They should back out for a while now."She explained, getting closer to her parents who stood in the room, arms spread to embrace
Luana took in the dark, smokey room once again, with steam coming out of a teapot which indicates someone has had a change of drinks. She walked into the office and saw Shelbrooke sitting on his executive chair with two men standing. One by the wall and the other has his hips leaning against the table. The one by the wall has a mop of curly, rough red hair and a plump face. He had a plus-sized stature and the baggy shirt he was wearing made things worse. He had the stripes as well. The second one was rather tall and good-looking. He was lean and fair-skinned with blonde hair leaving a waxed bunch of hair on his forehead. His glowing golden eyes complemented his hair and skin. He also left two buttons of his red polka-dotted shirt open, revealing his manly chest. He had the stance of a loose playboy. Her type of man. She swallowed. "Look who is here," Shelbrooke stated, his tone slightly sarcastic. "Have you already decided that the best thing that can ever happen to you is receiving
"What is that?" Lyne asked Zeidan who stood up abruptly. "I don't know but I'm not sure it's good." He replied, turning sideways to look at her from the corner of his eyes. She was starting to get worried. But she heard something faint. It was like a whisper but very distant. It was Zeidan's voice but he wasn't moving his lips. “damn, it's a war. I should have known. Now, I have to protect my family.”"Family? You're accepting our baby?" She asked but he looked back, eyes widened."You can hear my thoughts?""I guess. I heard you say it...""You can hear my thoughts!" He smiled broadly and embraced her warmly. "You have my powers."Before she could say anything, another loud beat was heard, making her heart skip. "Zeidan?" Zeidan released her and walked to the door. "I don't think it's something serious, so I'll just go and check.""Zeidan, it's a war." She pointed out, arching a brow. "Lyne," he walked back towards her and grabbed her face in his hands. "Don't run away and don'
Zeidan ran through his army right to the front of the vast fields only to see a massive number of Werecats in their shifted forms ravaging the city. Things have gone completely out of hand that he wondered how long he had been unaware of the attack. He transformed, his fangs and claws out as he started going into their midst, jumping and stabbing or slashing their necks. A huge cat jumped from the right side but he was fast enough to slash its side, making it fall with a thud and when another one slid from the left side, he jumped and gave its face a scissors kick, grabbing another one by the ears and hitting it to the ground. While he was busy punching the one on the ground, his hands grew weaker and his ears were filled with screams, people yelling out instructions of retreating and charging forward, and a loud screech. He placed two hands on each ear as he knelt, head ringing and thumping. He knew that feeling, but where exactly was she? "Lyne?" He managed to mutter, looking arou
