Luana turned to the dirt road that leads to the temple. The sun was already setting in the sky and she could see the temple standing out in front of her amongst the slightly tall weeds surrounding it. She rehearsed all her plans in her head as she drew closer. She only needed to convince Maya to her side. This she was very certain she would achieve. She came to the clearing in front of the temple and she halted her steps. Chloe was getting in her way and she needed to be smart about her execution which is why she needs Maya on her side. She had been trailing Chloe and Lyne all these while to get enough information so as to devise a means to take Chloe out of the equation. She remembers what she had seen in this place the last time she followed Lyne secretly without her knowing about it. Once Chloe is out of the way, then getting to Lyne would be easier. There was so much hatred to go around between Chloe and Maya, which made it all very much uncomplicated to get Maya on her side. T
It was early in the afternoon and everything seemed normal in the palace. Although it seemed normal, Zeidan knew there was nothing normal about any of it. His life was turning into a mess and there was nothing he could do about it. It has been two years now since he last saw Lyne and his health was deteriorating. He could feel life slipping away from him slowly, or perhaps he was just being too hard on himself for letting his guards down. He could not protect Lyne and her unborn child when they needed him the most and now he is suffering from it. “How are you feeling your Lordship?” Stevenson bellowed from the entrance of the palace as he was ushered in by one of the palace guards. He trotted towards the King who was sitting on the throne with his head in his left palm deep in thought. “I must have kept the King waiting eh? The King must not be angry for the journey to this place is a long one. There was a pressing matter that needed my attention back home that delayed me a little.
The thought of Styx's visit was what occupied Zeidan’s mind as he lay there on the mushy bed while Luana massaged his back. He remembered the decree he signed to protect Lyne. He had failed Luana. He had failed her unborn child. He had failed himself by not fulfilling his promise. Perhaps she was even alive somehow. If she was alive, he ought to have seen her by now. Another thing is that she would not have waited this long to come back to the palace. He saw disappointment and a lot of anger in Styx today. But he had tried his best in finding Lyne. Long before he fell sick he had checked everywhere but all to no avail. “Ouch! Lyne, slow down.” Luana stopped and sighed in exasperation. He heard her mutter inaudibly under her breath. Now, Zeidan suddenly realized what he had just done and sighed sadly. Then he turned slowly with a groan to face Luana who was staring at him with disdain. “What does her father want? She is dead. Why can’t you all just forget her? Here you are calling
Lyne stared at the fierce and fearless woman that was staring back at her in the mirror. A lot has happened in two years and she had made sure she protected her most cherished gift of all with all she had; her daughter. She was not that scrawny little girl that was always at the mercy of bullies. Or the lady that got unending taunting from Luana. Lyne remembered how growing up in South Park with her father and her siblings had been. It had not been really pleasant for her as she was always picked on by her siblings. She remembered how they take turns to scare her with their wolf abilities sometimes. This was because she had no wolf then and was the odd one out of the family. Her life was somewhat lonely even while living with her own family. She gently ran her left hand through her golden hair sighing deeply as she did so. The memory of how she met Zeidan came rushing back. Her dad had taken them all on vacation to South Jungle. Often she would leave where the rest was and sneak in
The thought of Chloe lingered on in Shelbrooke’s mind as he sat in the comfort of his office. The day he had disclosed his plans to take out Lyne, the reaction that Chloe gave that instant in this office that day was a thing he should be worried about. She had first told them all that they needed to spare her and suddenly agreed after he stood his ground that he will not change his mind about killing her and her baby. He stood up and searched his pockets for his cigarette in silence. Finding it in the rear pocket of his trouser, he sat down. He reached for his drawer and searched for his lighter without any luck. “Hey Reyns, got a lighter with you there?” He asked with one cigarette already in his mouth. Reyns dipped his hands in the pocket of his T-shirt and pulled out the lighter that was with him. He threw it to Shelbrooke and he caught it, lighted his cigarette, and threw the lighter back to him. Shelbrooke took a long drag of his cigarette and puffed out the smoke, sighing
Vampire City was becoming a shadow of itself. Although he has not been outside the palace walls for two years now, Zeidan could perceive that things were not going on smoothly. He had a feeling that Luana was only trying to cover up so that he will have no cause to be worried whatsoever. The attack of the were-cats on the city has been frequent and brutal and he knows that the people were tired and searching for answers. The crowd he heard outside the palace, sounded like an angry mob and Luana refused to tell him why they were at the palace. What else could have brought them if not for seeing their king for them to be hopeful again? Zeidan had however not stopped thinking about his City and how to protect the people in it. The sadness and sorrow that filled his heart, body, and soul ever since he fell sick could not be compared to anything in the world. Perhaps it was also another reason he was not getting better coupled with the fact that he had failed to protect the woman he loved
Luana sauntered towards Chloe’s room. The joy she felt in her heart was extreme. All her plans has been going well just as she wanted. Lyne was her first target and she was able to get her out of the picture. That was what aided the effectiveness of the rest of her plans. Deep down within her, she knows that if Lyne had been there, she might not have been able to even proceed with the rest of her plans. The plan to take out Zeidan was also going very smoothly and very soon, it would be accomplished. The fool had not even been able to notice that he was not the true father of Gabe. It was all part of the plan. More so, the royal doctor has not been smart enough to notice that someone had been poisoning the king. Very soon the syrup will not be effective again as the king’s heart will be damaged completely. Then she will be able to proceed with the concluding part of her plans. All she needed to do now was make sure she keeps feeding him the poison. Her plan to take out Maya and Chloe
Luana shut the door behind her. She paused a little at the entrance and reflected over what Chloe had just finished telling her. This could really spell trouble, especially if all what Chloe had said about Lyne was true. She had said Lyne looks tougher and stronger than she used to be. The worse of it all was the fact that she came with a child. There was no doubt the child will be hers and Zeidan’s. “Well, there is only one way to find out.” Luana said to herself. She left where she stood and headed for Zeidan’s room to see for herself. She walked briskly towards the entrance to Zeidan’s room and on getting there she paused momentarily by the door. She could hear the muffled chat between Zeidan and Lyne. She could not make up what they seem to be talking about. She took a deep breath, hesitated for a moment and then pushed the door open.Luana rushes in to find out whether it was true and she was shocked to see Lyne sitting on the bed beside Zeidan. She was dressed in black leather
Sometimes when one thinks of the past, moving forward to the future seems hard for them. Every night, Dad would always come to tell me tales of how they fought with a magical stone called the Onyx. He said it was what brought us together as clans all over the lands, excluding the Werecats. The breeze blew my light brown hair which was slowly bleaching into blonde like my mom's as I kept writing my journal. Although I still haven't believed there was any such thing as magic, I still needed to find out. I jumped down the fence, in my leather top and jacket with boots, my two long swords clasped to my back as I walked back to the training field. I looked at the people fighting and some bowing to me. With pride and elegance, I swerved my hips past the boys, while my four friends followed from each side. Tracy, Eretria, Romena, and Sasha. Two of them were hot blonde chicks in their mid-twenties, while the other two were brunettes. We are the Angel Squad and we rule the United Clan Train
"What's wrong, Lyne?" Zeidan asked looking up at her. She now had strange eyes and he wondered if she still recognizes him. Lyne opened her hand and he could see the Onyx on her palm, green and glowing. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was Lyne's nose bleeding and her eyes returning to normal. His hands quivered and loosened around Luana which made her grab the opportunity and kicked him in the stomach while he tended to it, she kicked him in the face turned, and stabbed his stomach with a knife.Awareness dawned on him as the object sank into him. He looked at Luana with shock and his eyes were getting blurry."You had every chance to be happy with me. But you ruined it all." Luana said and further twisted the knife inside of him, making him scream out.Lyne still lay on the floor, bleeding from her nose. He gasped and was finally released so that he could sit on the floor, weak and helpless. He raised his arm but no help came. "Die, Zeidan. Goodbye." Luana left him with Sh
Lyne looked at Luana, a smile curving her lips as she resolved to fight with all her might no matter how good she may be at magic. Or using the Onyx, but she sure is good with her claws. She stretched her fingers, eyes intent on Luana whose black eyes were also fixed on her. As they both snarled at each other, they also did the same with the charge and attack. Lyne swooshed her claws at Luana's face which she moved slightly backward to avoid and in turn twirled on her heels and hit her stomach with her knee. She bent and held on to her stomach as she felt the sharpness but only for a while before she was back on her feet. Luana threw a punch from the left to the right side which she dodged and grabbed her wrist, then right to the left and she grabbed the second wrist too, then holding both wrists captive, Lyne hit her forehead with hers, not minding the resounding bang she felt. Luana cried out and she released her so she could nurse her bleeding forehead. "You bastard!" Luana swo
With blazing eyes and a torn-apart soul, Lyne glared at Luana and the stone in her hand. "You know, if I were you, as a mother who has empathy for her daughter," Luana began to say as she walked in circles around Lyne. "I'd dive into that water and save my baby." Lyne looked back at her daughter who was still afloat, her tiny arms unable to hold her on the surface for long. "You may have won this time but not next time," Lyne hissed, looking into Luana's eyeball. "And that next time is soon."With that, she jumped into the water and swam her way to her daughter, arms and legs fluttering the strong current. She grabbed her daughter by the waist and held her tight to her body, swimming back to the shore. She climbed back to the surface and bent to check her daughter who sat on the floor, weak. "My baby." She muttered, hands running over Aurora's face and body. "Are you okay?" Aurora breathed heavily. Lyne felt guilty. She was the reason her daughter passed through all these. If she
Shelbrooke was too engrossed in staring at Lyne that he was unaware when Zeidan turned and grabbed his ankle making him fall. As Reyns moved to attack him, Zeidan grabbed his spear on the floor and pointed it at Reyns who chuckled and drew out his long swords."I'm sorry that you got played not once but twice, Zeidan. However, we can't blame you but the bitch that always thought she saw the good in you." Reyns said as they turned to the center of the field, each of them stretching their weapons at the other."I didn't ask her to find the good in me. I was already good to myself." Zeidan replied, his eyes not leaving Reyns and his swords."Then, it's obvious, you had her under your magical spell. Once we have the Onyx, I'll have the power to break that stupid spell you placed on her." Zeidan huffed. "Admit it. You like her and you're just afraid that she'll reject you if you let your true intention known." The other man held on tightly to his swords now stepping forward. "That's neve
Amber and Effinton stood gallant in front of Lyne and Zeidan, already in their fighting wear. Amber was placed as leader of the archery team since Chloe had died. She was also as good as the former leader, which makes it a win-win situation. Effinton also wore his black leather suit and pants with his boot heels. They all stood at the council table, all focused on the map before them."We need to come up with a better strategy than before. A unique one that will disassemble pure enemies before they even get closer to the field that separates Vampire city from the rest of the clans." Effinton spoke up and Zeidan nodded."You're right. But what do we come up with? We have exhausted the rest of our strategies on past wars." Zeidan replied but Lyne was seeing a different thing."Maybe we don't need a new strategy but ones we have used before and can put together to fight. They won't know what hits them by the time we strike.""I think the Queen is right," Amber spoke up, pointing to a sm
Shelbrooke moved forward, his steps cautious. The rest of the team geared up, some of them suddenly shifting. Luana let out her claws and Lyne snarled at them, her strong sharp teeth revealed. "I must say I'm quite amassed by your bravery and confidence. I mean, you even managed to come into his den." Luana said, walking behind Shelbrooke, her eyes turning black."Don't tell me you're thinking about lifting a finger because I won't hesitate to draw life out of you." Lyne threatened, gritting her teeth. Shelbrooke roared, his voice booming in the cave."You lose girl." He snorted and rushed towards her. Lyne jumped up and landed behind them, turning sharply when she heard Shelbrooke order the others. "Let her be guys. I know how to handle her." She snarled at him, eyes catching her father's body from the corner of her eyes. "Bring it on." Shelbrooke hopped on her but she turned sharply and hit him head-on, her teeth sinking into his neck. A painful cat cry pierced the cave and he
Lyne received the letter from Amber, tore off the pin that held them together, and read it. When she was done, she looked back at Zeidan who stood behind her. His men were busy clearing the palace but when he saw the look in her eyes, he ordered for the both of them to be left alone. When they had gone, Zeidan moved close to her."What does it say?" He asked and she raised her blue gaze at him."They want me to come to South Park."He frowned. Yes, news reached them about Lyne's arrival but why would they need her to come to visit them? He had thought Styx would come to visit her. Perhaps, he didn't try to because he doesn't care any longer or he thought it was fake news."Why?""It says here that they want me to become the Alpha.""For South Park?"Lyne nodded but she still has worry written all over her face. She should be happy about it."This is unusual. Charles wasn't supposed to like this. He had been clamoring for that position for as long as I can remember. He should get it a
Maya exhaled audibly as she stared at the body of the man she had just finished killing. Before her, bodies lay on the floor and she could see Shelbrooke and Reyns looking at her in admiration. "I have a request to make, however," Shelbrooke said and she glanced at him."What request?" She asked still shaken from the fight. This was weird. She never gets weak, no matter how many people she kills, but then it dawned on her. Her time is up. "Remove your cover," Shelbrooke said."What?" Maya exclaimed."We need to see your face." Reyns chipped in and she felt all their gazes on her at once. What was the point? She had been hiding her face for a long while and her time is almost up. She touched the edge of the fabric, looking up at Shelbrooke. Images of what had happened the other day came rushing back. The grounds shook and it was daytime already. No one could go to the surface to survive the blast as the sun was up. Going to the surface at that time would only cause their death, fast
