He stared at the two women who were obviously enemies. But he wasn't concerned about whatever beef they had against each other except he wanted to hasten things and make sure Luana is tried and sentenced if found guilty. "For the last time, Luana, you will move away from my wife and the boy."Luana stared at Lyne for a longer period of time before moving backward and yanking off her hand from Lyne's grip. Walking back to the chairs and tables arranged in the corner and meant for the subjects, she sat down and crossed her legs."So, what is it?""Really?" Zeidan huffed. "You left here for the last three months, only for you to come back to ask questions.""Zeidan, I...""King Zeidan." Lyne cut her short. "You're in no way allowed to call him by his name unless you're of royalty. No matter who you are."Luana glared at her but he was glad she was standing up against her. "Fine." She replied after a long moment of silence."King Zeidan." She turned towards him. "You wanted to ask me so
Lyne watched the horizon from where she was seated on a wooden chair in the backyard with Aurora in her hands reflecting on what has happened so far. It has been two years now since she left Vampire City. She wondered if Zeidan might think she was dead or somehow alive. She missed him so much, no doubt about that, but things just had to be this way. It was very difficult for her, to come here with her pregnancy and how she had struggled during Aurora’s birth. Aurora cooed with a Duchene smile and a glimmer in her blue eyes. She ran her hands through Aurora’s light brown hair and she smiled back affectionately. Her daughter was indeed very beautiful and her true definition of happiness. She has been through a lot for this baby and it was worth it. She heard the door creak open and Marianne came out of the house. She came bearing a chair and sat beside her in the opening of the yard. “She’s a cute little one,” Marianne said looking at Aurora who was slowly drifting to sleep in her
It has been two years and a few months now since the war between Shelbrooke and Vampire City began. The were-cats have been attacking the city constantly and they had done a lot of damage already. The people no longer felt safe in their homes and they were losing this war. Luana sat beside Zeidan who was lying down on his bed. Zeidan has been sick since Lyne left two years ago. Everyone around him felt he was greatly heartbroken as his marked queen left him. The city has been without a very functioning King ever since then. The state of the city was not known to him due to his health. Luana herself had made sure she told the guards and everyone around him to keep this information from him as it could affect his health greatly. Zeidan’s heart keeps deteriorating despite the medications he has been receiving. She stared at pale Zeidan as he lay there on his bed. He still looked as manly and handsome as ever but she knew he was dying.“How are you feeling?” She asked.“Well, I am still
Zeidan lay still on his bed. Ever since Lyne left, he had been miserable and fallen ill and his health was not showing any sign of improvement. He reflected on how it all started a week and some days after Lyne left him and was said to be dead. He collapsed after dinner one fateful night and the people around had rushed to call Stevenson, his royal doctor. He had such blackouts again weeks later. Stevenson advised him to stop brooding and said he needed to take a lot of things off his mind. He had adhered to this and had stopped every thought that bothered him. Still, he was not improving.Lyne couldn’t have survived this long, even if he was to believe she was alive. It saddened him greatly and his doctor has been giving him syrup to help him get better. Sometimes, he feels better, some other times, he feels worse. He was sure he was losing the war with Shelbrooke now as his army was without their commander. Luana had stood in the gap most times and this had helped him to change his
Lyne had thought about what Marianne had told her. She had made her intentions known to Dan and Marianne the previous night that she would head to Vampire City. She truly needed to return as Marianne had said. Ever since she had come to stay with them, they have been very nice to her and her baby. Marianne was at the back clearing up the weed that had grown there. She was now packing her bags and baggage in readiness for her trip back to Vampire City. She will definitely miss Dan and Marianne. Dan had Aurora on his neck and he played with her carrying her around the sitting room while she was packing up. Then the doorbell rang. Lyne opted to get it but Dan volunteered to open it. Dan obstructed her view but she could hear their conversation. “Hello Dan, It’s so nice to see you.” The visitor said. “It is such a pleasant surprise,” Dan replied. “Oh my God, is this your baby?” “No no, she’s not.” “Is it just me or does this baby looks so much like Lyne and Zeidan mixed togethe
Luana turned to the dirt road that leads to the temple. The sun was already setting in the sky and she could see the temple standing out in front of her amongst the slightly tall weeds surrounding it. She rehearsed all her plans in her head as she drew closer. She only needed to convince Maya to her side. This she was very certain she would achieve. She came to the clearing in front of the temple and she halted her steps. Chloe was getting in her way and she needed to be smart about her execution which is why she needs Maya on her side. She had been trailing Chloe and Lyne all these while to get enough information so as to devise a means to take Chloe out of the equation. She remembers what she had seen in this place the last time she followed Lyne secretly without her knowing about it. Once Chloe is out of the way, then getting to Lyne would be easier. There was so much hatred to go around between Chloe and Maya, which made it all very much uncomplicated to get Maya on her side. T
It was early in the afternoon and everything seemed normal in the palace. Although it seemed normal, Zeidan knew there was nothing normal about any of it. His life was turning into a mess and there was nothing he could do about it. It has been two years now since he last saw Lyne and his health was deteriorating. He could feel life slipping away from him slowly, or perhaps he was just being too hard on himself for letting his guards down. He could not protect Lyne and her unborn child when they needed him the most and now he is suffering from it. “How are you feeling your Lordship?” Stevenson bellowed from the entrance of the palace as he was ushered in by one of the palace guards. He trotted towards the King who was sitting on the throne with his head in his left palm deep in thought. “I must have kept the King waiting eh? The King must not be angry for the journey to this place is a long one. There was a pressing matter that needed my attention back home that delayed me a little.
The thought of Styx's visit was what occupied Zeidan’s mind as he lay there on the mushy bed while Luana massaged his back. He remembered the decree he signed to protect Lyne. He had failed Luana. He had failed her unborn child. He had failed himself by not fulfilling his promise. Perhaps she was even alive somehow. If she was alive, he ought to have seen her by now. Another thing is that she would not have waited this long to come back to the palace. He saw disappointment and a lot of anger in Styx today. But he had tried his best in finding Lyne. Long before he fell sick he had checked everywhere but all to no avail. “Ouch! Lyne, slow down.” Luana stopped and sighed in exasperation. He heard her mutter inaudibly under her breath. Now, Zeidan suddenly realized what he had just done and sighed sadly. Then he turned slowly with a groan to face Luana who was staring at him with disdain. “What does her father want? She is dead. Why can’t you all just forget her? Here you are calling
