Katelyn POV
I’m still in shock a little bit. I would have never guessed that there are so many in my old pack with such evil intentions, including my brother. Well, I have kind of figured out about Alpha Marcus, but my brother, Caleb, is what has me all worked up. I could care less about Bambi, but for the first time in my life, I sort of feel sorry for Mike. Not only does his father have an evil mind, but so does his Beta and his mate.
I can’t bring myself to look into anyone’s mind yet, but Ford and Wyatt have filled both Bridget and me in on what we don’t know.
Deep down, I know that there is something fishy when supposedly out of nowhere, Alpha Marcus announces Mike has found his mate. I wonder what the pack would say when they find out it is Alpha Marcus’ plan to join forces with Bambi’s pack, and Alpha Marcus has tricked Mike into thinking Bambi is his true mate.
Oh, I know I shouldn’t have done it, but I just wanted to knock that stupid smirk off of Alpha Marcus’ face and boy, did I.Ford’s voice booms within my head, “Baby, what did you do? No. I’m not going to ask about that. Instead, I’m going to ask why?”With a faint smirk on my face, I tear my eyes off Alpha Marcus and turn towards my mate. I innocently ask, via the mind link, “What? I didn’t do anything wrong.” I bat my long eyelashes a few times and act like I don’t know what he is talking about. However, Katelyn huffs through the mind link, “Yeah, right. I don’t believe it a bit. I’m not even reading Alpha Marcus’ mind, but I already know someone said something to him through a mind link.”Via the mind link, Wyatt adds, “Bridget, you need to refrain from doing things like that. We don&rsqu
Luna Joy turns back towards us and continues on. “When the group left, I ran to the unconscious girl laying on the ground. She doesn’t look much over 18, if that. Her clothes were ripped, but I couldn’t tell if that was because of the beating or because they were going to do something else more vile to her. I couldn’t handle seeing her like that and we immediately brought her back to our pack hospital. She has been unconscious ever since, so we know nothing about her. We are all waiting for her to wake up and find out what her name is and what pack she is from.”I glance over at Katelyn, who is wrapped up in Wyatt’s arms, with tears streaming down her face. She is so concerned about this omega. If the omega’s story doesn’t tug at my heart, Katelyn’s grief-stricken face would. The rest of the flight goes by fast as Alpha Ted and Luna Joy give us more information a
Katelyn POVHow can something like this happen to her? She did nothing wrong. Being an omega isn’t a crime, and it doesn’t justify what has been done to her.I want her to be safe.As I look at the girl’s beaten and bruised face, I can’t hold back the tears anymore. The pain she has gone through just because she is an omega is terrible and wrong. No one, regardless of them being an omega, should ever have to go through something like this. Absolutely no one.Tears begin to roll down my face. The pain not only in my chest but throughout my entire is too much. I don’t have to look into her mind, because I can physically feel her pain. That is one aspect of being a healer that I’m still grappling to understand and control.Every part of my body hurts. I mean really hurts. I don’t think those jerks missed any part of her wh
I have never been this happy before. My wolf can’t stop purring or wanting to cuddle our mate. This is all new to me.I watch Mason sleep next to me on our bed. Our bed. That has never sounded so nice in my whole life. The only downside is that it has taken so long for us to find each other, but why.Even though I haven’t been outside of Mason’s room since we have claimed each other, I know there is something I haven’t been told yet. Well, it has surprised me when Alpha Seth said that I have to promise to never tell anyone about the pack’s location. If I couldn’t promise him that, then he wouldn’t bring me to see my mate. However, there is nothing that would have stopped me at that point. I’m so close, and I can’t just walk away empty-handed. I think I would have promised the world to Alpha Seth.Just like the last few days,
I’m honored, but at the same time, so sad. I haven’t been with the pack for long or officially one of the members for more than a few weeks, before Former Alpha Seth along with Alpha Wyatt ask me to do something very important for them. As soon as they told me about Tammy and her situation, I immediately agree to sit with her and hopefully help her when she wakes up.I can’t bring myself to look into her mind, though. Shoot. I hate looking back at my own memories. How can I peer into someone else’s mind who has had even more trauma than me? Plus, I don’t have to see anything. Former Alpha Seth has told me enough to know what I’m dealing with here. Now, I just need to wait for Tammy to wake up. That doesn’t stop me, though. I still talk to her every day. Even though she is unconscious, I want her to know she is safe, and she has people who care about
“Alpha Wyatt! Luna Katelyn!”Wyatt and I stop in our tracks and turn towards the screams. I don’t recognize the voice, but then again, almost everyone here is new to me.I softly chuckle as a young boy, probably only around 16 with bright red hair, scurries through the crowd while he waves his hands frantically above his head, trying to get our attention. The gathering has been a mix of good things along with a sprinkle of a few bad things and people just to keep us guessing. Not surprisingly, several packs have completely ignored us, because of the pack’s dislike and belief that omegas are a terrible mistake the Moon Goddess needs to resolve quickly. However, I’m rather proud to say most of the participants have been either neutral or even positive when finding out about omegas. Many even thought omegas were only a tale from the past.We have been able to even find several othe
It has been a long couple of weeks, but I’m so glad the gathering is finally done. Leave it up to the werewolf council to end this event with a bang. A formal dance isn’t exactly how I would have ended the gathering, but I’m just happy that we are getting an evening off, while I get to admire and dance with my baby. I don’t know if I’ve said this enough, though, but I’m so lucky that Bridget is my mate.Speaking of me looking at my mate. I can’t stop smiling at her as she comes out of the bathroom dressed in a stylist black floor length black dress with a slit up the side. My eyes keep scanning her amazing body from head to toe, trying to see if I have missed any little detail that would make her look even more amazing than she already is. However, everything is perfect. Yes. My mate is perfect. She tilts her head and put on her diamond earrings as she walks into the b
Just like the last couple of weeks have gone, as soon as Katelyn enters the ballroom, not only do I sense it, but my wolf does, too. However, tonight something is different with my wolf. It is almost like he realizes something, but he hasn’t told me yet. Whatever it is, it has my wolf whimpering in pain, but what could it be that would cause my wolf so much agony.Taking a sip of my drink, I keep my eyes locked on Katelyn.Something is wrong. But what? For once, since this whole gathering started, Bambi is off with her new friends and I’m sitting alone with Beta Malcolm at our table while Alpha Marcus and Caleb are off doing whatever. Knowing my father, I’m sure he is trying to confirm some new allies, but with the introduction of Alpha Wyatt’s pack, it is going to be much harder than he had originally thought. You don’t have to be a genius to see that Alpha Wyatt is not only smart but also
Katelyn POV I walk across my bedroom to the crib. Even though the baby is crying, and you can’t hear anything except him, I smile as I stop at the edge. Our first born and the next alpha to the Sun Moon pack. My pride and joy. I lean over the edge of the crib and softly coo, “Are you mad, Max? You can’t be hungry. You just had your milk.” I gently pick him up from the crib and begin to sway back and forth, while cradling my son in my arms. “Hush, baby. You need to rest. You have to grow up to be big and strong.” However, Max continues to cry. Knock. Knock. Still swaying back and forth, I glance up at the door. “Come in.” The door opens and Fiona pokes her head into the bedroom. “Uhm, you can’t get him to calm down again?” I slowly shake my head. She steps into the bedroom. “Do you want me to help?
I breathe a sigh of relief at seeing Alpha Marcus lying motionless on the ground. However, it is short-lived as I turn and scan the battlefield. My heart aches seeing all the injured and dead werewolves. This didn’t need to get to this point.A faint smile suddenly spreads across my face as my eyes stop at Sammy and Katelyn. Sammy is getting up off the ground and is completely healed. As she stands, she changes from her light tan wolf to Alpha Marcus’ gray wolf.Well, at least she is feeling well enough to use her abilities. That is a good sign.My mate is amazing. My smile slowly fades as my eyes spot Mike, who is staring at Katelyn and Sammy. What is Mike doing? He knows he can never have Katelyn again. Right. My thoughts are interrupted when the Supreme Elder calmly walks out of the trees, along with a few of the other elders, and scans around the open fiel
Mike POVI slowly open my eyes. The bright sun instantly makes me squint and close them again.I’m alive.I thought I was dead.I’m sure that I was being ripped to pieces.I lift my arm to block the bright sun from my eyes as I slowly open them back up. Wait. I thought I was in my wolf form. My wolf!I mentally ask, “Are you still here with me?”My wolf slowly mumbles, “Yeah, but I need to rest.”Oh, that is a relief.I move to sit up, but pain instantly shoots through my entire body. I quickly look down at my body, trying to see how bad the damage is, but I don’t see any. Wait. Where are my injuries?I quickly touch my legs and turn them slightly, but nothing. There isn’t one injury there. My eyes quickly go to my stomach and my chest, as my hands randomly pat that a
I watch from the side of the clearing as Mike goes limp on the battleground. NO!!!I try to run towards him, but Ford’s wolf quickly bites my ear and stops me. Through the mind link, he barks, “Bridget, baby, follow the plan. We know that this could be a possibility if Mike came here, but we can’t stop now. We have to take down Alpha Marcus.”I glance back at Mike, but he is gone. The only wolf laying lifeless on the ground now is Caleb.I slowly nod my head.Through the mind link, I announce, “It is time! Sammy, be careful. Everyone, get into position. Tammy and Fiona, you need to make sure that you focus and only use your powers against Alpha Marcus.”I glance around the battlefield. Again, through my mind link, I make an announcement to all the werewolves, except Alpha Marcus. “The future beta Caleb is dead, along with many others who supp
I bolt through the trees, over the boulders, and around the bushes. I move my feet as fast as I can. With each step, my heart pounds harder as the sound of battle hits my ears. The growls of victory along with the howls of pain stab my heart. This shouldn’t be happening, and it is all because of my father. His sick need to be the most powerful and have everyone bow down to him is too much. It must stop.No wonder my mother isn’t anywhere to be found. I’m sure that she couldn’t handle him either. With that thought running through my mind, I jump into the clearing. The sight that meets me is not something that I have ever wanted to see. Werewolves are everywhere and fighting to the death. The stench of blood and death is in the air.Nearby, several wolves are torn apart laying lifeless in a pool of their own blood on the ground while several other dead werewolves are sc
Wyatt POVKatelyn and I stand on either side of the wounded beta. We take our hands off the beta as he opens his eyes. After shifting back to his human form as we heal him, he looks between my mate and me, before he asks, “What happened? I thought I was going to die.”I shake my head. “Not today. We won’t let that happen.”A faint smile dances across Katelyn’s face. “We brought you back, and we will heal others too, as the battle continues.”Before the beta can ask anymore, I say, “Since you are back, we will go onto the next one.”Katelyn and I stand up and look around the battlefield, while the beta glances between my mate and me. However, we don’t get any rest, as Zee and Scott bring another severely injured warrior from one of our packs. The beta continues to sit and watch us as Katelyn and I take the injured
I burst into the clearing. The growls and howls of battle have been ringing through the forest, but I’m still surprised when I come into the clearing. Not only is Alpha Marcus’ pack here, but all of his allies, along with all of our allies. The clearing is full of werewolves. All of them are fighting with everything that they have. Our first wave of warriors appears from the forest at the same time that Katelyn, Ford, Bridget and I arrive. The plan is to have Katelyn and Bridget stay along the sidelines to use their abilities to locate people and heal them, if needed. The key person who we are trying to locate is Alpha Marcus.I glance around the field. I see a lot of blood and the smell of death is in the air, while fangs and claws continue to fly everywhere, but I’m not seeing Alpha Marcus yet. Before I can ask, Bridget states via the mind link, “Alpha Marcus isn’t here y
Mason POVWyatt has given the signal that things will happen fast now. Alpha Marcus has people trying to find out who is meddling with his allies’ companies. It is only a matter of time now. However, we still will not bring the physical fight to our pack lands. That doesn’t mean that our allies won’t see the war coming to them, though. When Alpha Marcus realizes our pack is behind everything, our allies won’t be safe either.Luckily, we have come up with a plan for that. Donna’s old pack is more than willing to have the physical fight on their pack lands, which is actually the best location. Her former pack’s lands are at the edge of Alpha Marcus’ alliance pack lands. On the other hand, our alliance packs are located practically in a semi-circle around her old pack, which is why it makes perfect sense to have the physical fight there.
Katelyn POV“I said that I’m just tired. There is no need to have the doctor look at me.” I scan the small group of people in my bedroom. Yes. My bedroom.I woke up just a few moments ago to Wyatt, Ford, Bridget and Dr. Bright standing beside the bed. They are all looking down at me, but I honestly don’t have the energy to fight right now. I’m just so tired.Bridget smiles and sits down on the bed next to me. She gently grabs my hands. “Katelyn, I saw the last two puzzle pieces. That is why we are here.”Wyatt huffs, “You still haven’t told me why you brought the doctor with you or who the last two pieces are.”With Bridget still looking at me, she smiles and gently rubs her thumbs against the back of my hands. “Their names are Max and Trish.”Wyatt sighs. “Okay. When are
