**Olivia's POV**

My eyes fluttered open, but I suddenly closed it because of the light that radiated through the window. After adjusting to the light, I fluttered my eyes open and gasped at where I was— in the dungeon.

What in the world am I doing in the dungeon?

The last thing I remembered was being dragged by the guards and calling the Alpha for help. They might think I'm mute, but I'm not completely mute. There are some voices I can still form, and it works when I'm in desperate need of help.

I looked around and facepalmed. Did he really bring me to the dungeon? When I called, and he turned and walked towards me, I thought he was bringing me to stay with him, but no, he put me in the dungeon.

I sighed as the last hope I had in me vanished completely. It would be better if I stopped putting my hopes high like this.

I looked around the dungeon and saw diverse kinds of slaves. Some were old men while others, children. The ones that were older than me had been taken by the other masters and were kept away from us, while the younger ones remained. I looked to my right and saw a woman, who was probably in her 30s shedding tears in a corner. My heart ached for her. It was heartbreaking seeing this kind of woman who was used for sexual purposes crying. I wanted to comfort her, but I couldn't, and it brought tears to my eyes.

I don't want to stay in a place like this. Most of the people here were used as sexual slaves, and I wasn't ready to be one of them. Being a sexual slave wasn't something anyone would want. I'm among those that do not want it and hate it so much.

The next thing that came to my mind was how to escape from this hellhole. I used my eyes to scan the room like a spy and saw a door leading out of the place.

This should do. If I'm careful enough, I will be out of here before I know it.

I scrambled to my feet as quietly as possible, careful not to make a sound and tiptoe towards the door, praying vehemently not to be caught, but it seemed luck wasn't on my side because I saw a few shadows I assumed to be the guards. I decided to try my luck and still push through with this.

I could recall seeing where the guards kept the key after locking the cell and quietly carried it.

“What do you think you're doing?” A young girl, who had been kept there too, asked and I shook my head.  It's not like she would understand if I demonstrated for her and if by any chance I tried to speak even when I couldn't, they would know I'm mute and use that against me, so I simply shook my head and continued what I was doing.

I smiled when I was able to get the keys. I quickly started unlocking the door and when I opened it and wanted to step out, the guards caught me.

“You! What the hell do you think you're doing?” One of them asked and I gasped.

He approached me and I took steps back. He continued following me until my back hit the wall.

“You're so stubborn, aren't you? Where were they going?” He poked my head and I winced in pain.

I frowned when he continued to poke my head and glared at him.

“Lower your eyes!” He ordered and was about to hit me when the second guard spoke into his ear. He brought his hand down, throwing a deadly look my way.

“And oh, she's a mute, so she can't respond to whatever you're saying at the moment.” The second guard explained and I sighed.

“No wonder, she acts like a disabled.” The first one said, and my frown deepened.

How dare they look down on me like that? My glare hardened, but they said nothing and held my hand, dragging me out of the dungeon. I struggled with them to let me go, but they didn't as their grip became tighter.

I felt a sudden feeling of fear rush through me as they held me. What were they going to do to me? I continued to struggle with them, but my struggles stopped when I noticed that they were taking me to the throne room. I suddenly felt a pang of hope hit me. Maybe the Alpha has changed his mind and wants me back.

The door opened, and the guards threw me in, bowed to the Alpha and left, but not without glaring at me. I stood to my feet and looked up to see Alpha Devon seated on his throne with a glass of wine in his hand. My eyes met his, and I shuddered under his icy look.

“It's nice that you're alive, Olivia,” He drawled, and I furrowed my eyebrows. Was I supposed to die? He studied me for a while, still sipping his wine. I bowed my head and waited for whatever he was going to tell me.

“Don't get your hopes up, mute. Put yourself together because I know exactly what's going on in your mind right now and trust me when I say that's never going to happen,” He frowned and I sighed. My hopes were dashed again. “Since you're mute, I'm not really going to waste my time with you. The only thing I'm grateful to the moon goddess for is that you can hear me and so, I wouldn't have to stress myself while talking to you today,” He paused and moved closer than bent to look into my eyes. “You're the only one who isn't affected by the kind of power I have, and I think it's because we're mates,” I facepalmed.

“So here is something you need to know and the earlier you stick it in your head and make meaningful sense with it, the better for you.” He stood up and walked up to me.

“Instead of being my mate, you're going to become my personal maid.” He smirked and I gasped.

How could he do this to me? I looked at him with glassy eyes.He stared back at me, his eyes held so much hate and resentment. “You might be probably hurt by what I said, but I am not taking back my words. This isn't how it should be. We aren't meant to be,” He said, and my heart broke. “I don't want a weak wolf as my mate, it can't work that way,” He sipped his wine and tears rolled down my cheeks.I could sense the hurt in his voice, and it broke my heart the most. It wasn't my fault that I became mute, it was never my fault. Who was I kidding, thinking I could be accepted like this? He thinks I'm weak, and I don't blame him at all. His thoughts might also be fueled by the fact that whenever I get into trouble, I may not be able to ask for help. He wouldn't even want to help me anyway. How do I t

**Olivia's POV**“Just know that it's going to sting… a lot.” The other lady smirked and I gasped.“Come on, Candice. You don't have to make her feel scared.” The doctor folded her hands.“I'm not trying to make her feel scared, Susan. I'm only stating the facts. Suppressants hurt a lot.” She chuckled.Suppressants? What were they giving me suppressants for? I looked at the doctor with a panic stricken face. She sighed.“Don't be scared, okay? This is for your own good. You're a Stealer wolf, and it would be dangerous for you to roam about, since all the unmated and widowed wolves are after you. With this suppressant, we'd be able to cage that stealer wolf in you and make your scent unperceivable for them. I hope you understand what I mean?” She asked and I nodded.“Can't she talk, or is she too terrified to speak?” Candice asked, and I lowered my head.“She's a mute.” The doctor replied and took the syringe.“What!” Candice burst out laughing. The doctor hit her and glared at her. S

Olivia's POV“We need you to poison Alpha Devon and lock his wolf.” He dropped the bomb and my eyes widened. What the heck!I knew it. I knew there was a reason why my father would come to me and speak so nicely to me. He dared to come to me to ask for my help in poisoning my mate. I knew immediately that the only reason he was speaking kindly to me was that he needed something from me.Even though he had treated me poorly in the past, I was still shocked that he would ask me to do something so terrible.I couldn't believe that my father would want me to harm someone like Devon.I was confused. I stared at him as a surge of anger began to well up within me."Listen to me, Olivia." He continued. "Devon doesn't love you. He is only with you because he doesn't want to stay without a mate.""You have to help your father. Remember that this is the only way you can prove to me and everyone else in the pack how useful you can be.""Perhaps it was for a time like this that you were sent to li

  • The Mute Luna   Chapter 7

Devon's POV After eating my meal, I decided to stroll to the training ground to see how well she was doing. I knew that she was willing to do whatever I said and it was just to please me. I wasn't going to allow her to know that she could please me so easily too. I strolled, to the training ground, expecting to find her there. At least she was supposed to have started the training. I was surprised when I got there and I didn't see her. "Maybe she had to take a detour. For someone as naive as her, things were bound to catch her interest." I had told myself that, at least I believed it to be true. But then even after twenty minutes, she hadn't shown up. Somewhere, I began to feel worried. What if the drugs which the doctor gave her weren't potent enough and wore out? Did it mean that she was in danger? I started pacing to and fro. About fifteen minutes after, I noticed someone approaching from the corner of my eye. I stopped my paving abruptly and behold, it was her. She looked

Olivia's POV What just happened? Bad enough that he had insulted me and insinuated that I was acting like a slut, but he still punished me. I knew that something was wrong when I noticed that man whispering to him. Now I don't know what he heard. He seemed so angry and it hurts me. I hate having to be the source of his anger. He said I would train thrice as hard. That meant I would go harder and might end up staying out for eighteen hours rather than the usual six. It also meant that I would not eat until I was done with the training. I sighed. Food was not my problem, I had been starved for so long that not eating felt like a normal thing and eating felt like a luxury. Well, it's a luxury I can't afford for now. Devon had called me weak, stupid, idiot, foolish, useless, a liar, and a slut. It was high time I changed all of that. I was going to prove to him that I am better than he imagines. I will show him that I can be strong, I am not weak. I am neither stupid nor useless. Bu

  • The Mute Luna   Chapter 9

Beta Brent's POVAfter discussing with Olivia during the day, I couldn't return home. Somewhere I kept having this feeling that she had been caught. I knew what kind of trouble she would enter if she was caught with me. Not just that, she could lose any form of trust which Devon had developed for her. That was going to jeopardize our plans. Nevertheless, I returned to the pack house. The Alpha summoned me immediately after he heard I had returned."Brent, tell me you succeeded." He said. "I don't think it would be that hard to convince that girl. She is too gullible and naive.""It was kind of hard," I confessed. "The girl has formed a deep-seated hatred in her heart for me, she refused to even let me touch her.""I did tell you then to be careful about how you treated her. I told you there would be used for her one day but you never listened to me." He accused. "Now you can see? We need her but she is keeping a grudge.""Well, what do you expect me to do? How did you expect me to go

Olivia's POVMy gaze remained on the vials that stood in my drawer. Was I supposed to listen to a man who had made my life hell? Or protect a man who was bound to make my life another hell?Would I ever experience something like freedom in my life? I picked them up. One was red and the other was green. I knew that the red one was poison. That meant that the green one was the one that would lock up his wolf forever.I took the green one and placed it in my dress. I the red one, I hid it properly. Even if I wasn't going to accept yet, I wasn't also going to allow myself to be jeopardized by it. It was time for me to begin my service to Devon for the day. I quickly made my way to his chamber. He was seated in his bed with his back to the backrest of the bed. His eyes were on me from the time I entered the room, almost as if he had been expecting me.I bowed in greeting, putting my hands in a pleading manner before me. His gaze suddenly turned hard, seeing me gesture my greeting. I think

Devon's POVThe food was sweeter than usual and if she hadn't tasted it with me, I wouldn't have believed that she didn't slip something into it. Everything seemed to taste good and I just felt somehow happy about it.I decided to go out and check on her if she was training properly. I noticed that she was doing her training well but how she did it would tire her out too quickly. No wonder she was always so tired after training.I helped her by giving her some tips and I noticed how well she took them. Suddenly I felt dizzy as if my eyes went closed for a nanosecond. I opened it immediately. Are you okay?"I feel a little dizzy."Maybe you should go and rest.Seriously, seeing her gesture things to me always made me pissed. I sighed and turned to go. Being an Alpha meant having to look okay even when you weren't. So I had to force myself to walk steadily to my chamber. I knew I was being watched by her and I didn't mind. The moment I entered my chamber, I felt this pang in my head. It

Devon's POVThe sudden appearance of the red moon was quite baffling. It arrival before it said date took us off guard. The pack guards went in search of the sage in the caves but as usual there was nothing. Perhaps, this was just a facade of the red moon? I pondered.I got back to the palace and Olivia was not in her room. I asked about her from Gabi and she told me Olivia was in the garden.I got there and saw her staring at a plant. "Hey, love. What are you looking at?" I asked her."Hi, um, it's this green plant, it shines but it won't let me uproot it," she replied."Let me see," I said as I drew nearer to the plant. It was the sage! "My, it's the sage," I said in excitement. She grinned. "Well, uproot it!" She said to me. I tried to uproot it but it wouldn't. This was just a plant and not a tree, yet it was hard to uproot. I tried severally but it would not come out of the ground. "How about we do it together?" She suggested. I agreed and when we did, the sage came off so easily

"Bring the girl in," I said into the phone and then hung up.A few minutes later, Damian walked into the house with Trisha who was frightened. Candice could not hide the horror on her face."Will you claim not to know this woman?" I asked her."I don't know her," Candice replied with confidence."Stop lying!" Trisha yelled at her. "Look at what you've gotten me into. These guys came to the club and dragged me out like a loser. I warned you about this but you still indulged me into it by tempting me with what I love the most," Trisha said to Candice in anger."Liar! I don't know you!" "Well, how's Olivia?" I asked her.She shrugged. "Not so good. She's still inside," she replied."What must have happened? Why is she so shaken?" I asked."Well, Devon came by today. Turns out that the reason why Olivia is upset and quiet is because of him," she said with a sigh."Oh my, what happened?" I asked as I pretended as if I did not know what was going on."It turns out Olivia has a video of Devon cheating on her with some girl and some pictures too," she replied."What?" I exclaimed, pretending to be shocked. She nodded, buying all my pretentious act. Damn, I was a good actress!"It's so strange. Devon is so in love with Olivia. I can't belie

She won't come out and I have been hearing crying sounds coming from there," she said as she led me to her room.We got to her room and there was Olivia laying face down on the bed in a red dress. I had no idea that the dinner date meant so much to her."Get out," she replied without looking at me."Olivia, I..." Damian's POVThe security personnel went through the CCTV footage but unfortunately, there was no sign of Devon leaving the hotel. He was only seen going into the men's room. I almost missed the next person that went in when I suddenly saw her and asked him to pause. "Zoom in," I said to him and he did. A woman was going into the men's room too. She had black hair, but her face could not be seen. "Hell, what is a woman going to do at the men's room," I pondered out aloud. The security personnel shrugged. "Is there no footage of the woman or Devon coming out of the men's room?" I asked him."No, sir. You can see from the footage that nothing like that happened and there doesn't seem to be any glitch anywhere in the system," he replied.I groaned inwardly. "Thank you very much," I said as I patted his shoulder."You're welcome," he replied as I walked out of the room. Where was Devon and who was that woman? Was this the launch Devon claimed to be at?Perhaps, images might be deceiving, but I had no idea what pushed me to leave the palace and get to the hotel. On getting there, another message came in, directing me to the room Devon was in. Trisha exclaimed, almost spitting her cappuccino in my face."Hush, calm down Trish," I said to her as I looked around the strip club, ensuring that no one was eavesdropping on us."What do you mean by calm down, Candice? That I should frame Devon up? Are you kidding me right now?" She literally yelled at me."You're not really framing him up, Trish," I replied."What do you call drugging a man in an hotel room, and taking pictures with him?" She demanded."Stop sounding like this is the first time you're doing such a thing," I frowned at her."And so? At least I know the kind of men I do such with. Not men like Devon and especially not Devon. Please, Candice!" She flared up.I slapped my forehead. "So, you're not going to do this?" I asked her."No amount of money will make me mess with someone like Devon. Count me out," she said as she stopped her cappuccino and turned away."Not even for half a million bucks?" I asked her and she paused and turned around."Ha
