Chapter Forty-Four

“Hello, Darling.” I shivered as I felt the kisses placed on the back of my neck, Magnus’s scent enveloping me as he chuckled. I turned in his hold and buried my face in his chest, lifting my face to kiss along his neck.

“You’re here. Did you remove the spell?” I asked curiously, tilting my head back to see his face, growing softly when I noticed the dark circles under his eyes and the tired lines around his face. He even felt drained and tired.

“It took more effort than I expected.” He said as he sighed and ran a hand over his face. “It was a strong spell and I managed to remove it. It also isn’t as far from the main pack grounds now, it was the spell that distorted distance and perception of its placement. It’s not a day's journey. It’s just a few hours at a good pace.”

“Gods. I’m sorry it took so much out of you Magnus.” I whispered as I gave him a soft kiss, trying to soothe the turmoil I felt from our bond. He shook his head and tucked some hair behind my ear.

Life has got in the way lately so I’ve had some trouble. I’m going to do my best to finish this book by the end of the year. I hate that everything has been getting in the way of this stories progress but I’m doing my best to have it done as soon as possible.

    Brodryn I flew nonstop, my wings aching with the punishing pace. I was accustomed to flying longer and farther than this but the stress of needing to get to Kara, the iron blood cuffs being so close, carrying Blaze’s dead weight and the fear and Corey I was still feeling and experiencing was enough to fatigue me far earlier than I would have liked.
