“ Do you know who she is?" Monica asks floating in the air, blue smoke emerging from her body, glaring daggers at Silas.
It took a while for Silas to recover from the shock he was in, blinking a few times before letting his pried talk for him.
“ Do I look like I care?"
Monica fell in rage and the smoke immediately turned to blood red. She launched at him, attempting to kill him but Reed stepped in front of his son causing Monica to stop in her tracks.
“Please, forgive my son, he is foolish and prideful, I failed to reach him properly."
" Indeed, you have, he has the power and the authority of an Alpha but he is prideful and doesn't think about the consequences of his actions.”
Silas felt angry at his father for pleading on his behalf, he attempted to push his father aside but Reed didn't move.
“ Who…who are you and how did you come out of that child?” Thalia asks, still in shock at the whole drama.
Monica looked at Thalia and the once blood-red smoke returned to its blue form.
“My name is Monica, and this child your rude and reckless son rejected is the true Alpha and not just any true Alpha, the one that is beloved and dared by the Moongoddes herself; and I am the wolf sent to protect her and stand by her side.”
A gasp was heard from the crowd who were still forced to submission position. Reed, Thalia, and Silas were wild eyes once again.
“ It can't be, this child…this child is nothing but a worthless wench that means nothing. How can the Moon goddess choose her of all people!” Thalia said, looking at Marietta's bloody body on the floor with hatred in her eyes.
“How dare you question the Moon goddess and call her child a worthless wench?! It's clear you don't know what the Moon goddess has done for you.”
Thalia looked like she was another to talk back at Monica but the glares Monica and Reed were giving her stopped her from saying anything.
“Please, forgive my wife, she does not understand what the Moon goddess has done for her and I failed in every aspect of teaching her,” Reed said with his head down in shame.
Monica didn't say anything and everywhere went white as a graveyard except the night wind blowing the dried leaves away in a union.
“I harm those who harm her, cause those who curse her, protect those who protect her, and kill those who try to kill her.”
Monica said looking at Silas with her blood-red eyes as if warning him that she would be back for him. She veered around to look at Marietta's almost lifeless body lying helplessly on the floor, kneeled before her and the blue smoke surrounded her, the blue smoke surrounded both Monica and Marietta with a wind strong enough to uproot trees and damage houses.
The moon turned blue and shined brightly on both Marietta and Monica making the blue smoke that surrounded them shine bright blue.
Everyone witnessed in shock at Marietta’s body floating in the blue smoke enveloped her body.
Monica looks at Marietta with love and care before turning into a blue smoke disappears into thin air and is laid gently on the ground.
The crowd was still in a daze when they heard someone coughing. Marietta slowly opened her eyes and blinked a couple of times before trying to sit up. She looked at everyone with wild eyes and confusion.
“Where am I, who are you people and why are you staring at me like that?”
Sylvie ran towards Marietta, “ Are you alright, do you recognize me, do you remember your name?”
“I think so, except my head keeps feeling like it's being hit by a rock, I can survive. By the way, who are you, where am I and who are these people?”
“ Do you remember your name?”
“ My name…my name is…”
Marietta held her head and closed her eyes as if trying to subside the pain she was feeling.
Reed, feeling guilty at what his wife and son did to Marietta, looked at her with pity and vowed to protect her and fund her education until she was done with her studies and he would send her to a far-off pack to protect her from his wife, son and anyone who wishes to harm her.
“Sylvie, don't stress her too much, please take her back home and tend to her needs,” Reed said, feeling ashamed to look at Marietta who was staring at him in confusion.

It was the last day of school and Marietta looked at her reflection in the mirror, she was wearing a black hoodie black ripped jeans, and black booths. Ever since the night Slias became the Alpha and Marietta lost her memories a year ago, she had found a liking to any clothes that are black but she wears other colored clothes too.
Marietta stared at her reflection in the mirror again and was satisfied with what she saw. She took her backpack and stepped out of her house.
Sylvie was already waiting for her in her car and honked at the sight of Marietta, signaling her to come over.
“Morning sleeping beauty, better hurry up, we're gonna be late for our last day of school, and the last days of school are always the best because you get to do whatever you want and not get in trouble for it!”
Marietta laughed at how silly Sylvie sounded and did her face.
“I'm coming, I'm coming,” Marietta said in between her laugh and got in the car.
“You love causing trouble don't you?”
“Oh come on, it's always fun to cause a bit of trouble, you have to live a little or you will regret not doing it when you get older.”
“Well, since today is the last day of school, what do you think we should do?”
“Come to think of it, we don't have to do anything, why? Coz the trouble will come to us.” Sylvie said with an evil smirk, started the engine, and started driving.
“What did you do?” Marietta asked, looking at Sylvie with a suspicious look.
“Oh my dear beloved friend, you'll see.”
“Oh my Moon goddess, what has she done?” Marietta said, looking like she was about to cry.
Sylvie parked her car at the parking lot that she saw open, they both got out of the car and started walking towards the entrance of the school hall.
The school entrance was decorated with toilet paper and people pranking themselves and their teachers.
“Now I see why you were super excited to come to school today,” Marietta said, looking at the decorated entrance and laughing.
“You haven't seen anything yet my dear friend, the fun is just about to get started,” Sylvie said in a whisper.
Immediately Marietta entered the school hall, a really loud and furious scream was heard, making Marietta jump out of her skin.
“What…what was that?” Marietta asked no one in particular and scanned her eyes through the bodies of students around her.
“That my dear, that my dear is trouble.”
“What…what trouble?”
“We better get to our lockers and head to class before it gets here,” Sylvie said, pushing Marietta through the bodies of students.
“Who did this!?” The furious voice of Lolla. “who did it? Better talk now or regret it later.”
No one said a thing and the once noisy hall had now turned to be as quiet as a graveyard.
Marietta looked up to see Lolla covered in pink gue. She widened her eyes and turned to look at Sylvie who looked unmoved by the condition Lolka or anyone was in.
Marietta whispered to Sylvie, “Was that the trouble you were talking about?”
“I can say for sure, coz I did a lot of this to different people and can't seem to remember them all,” Sylvie whispered back before smirking and continuing her business.
Marietta decided not to interfere or have anything to do with Lolla and faced her locker. She opened it and brought out her chemistry and biology textbooks. She closed her locker and was about to leave when Lolla covered in pink gue that had pink glitter mixed in it stopped her in her tracks.
“Oh, I didn't know it had glitter in it.”
“You, you did this to me!” Lolla said, pointing her finger at Marietta.
“Did what? I didn't do anything.”
“Don't lie to me, I know you hate me because Silas and I are still together. You act as if you don't remember anything, but I know you are pretending and plotting your revenge.”
“I honestly don't know what you are accusing me of but, I gave a class to attend.
****
“Did you see how Lolla stared at you with helplessness and drained of life, gosh that was so fun and refreshing to watch, I wish school didn't have to end so quickly. Sylvie said as she drove me home.
I got out of the car and bed Sylvie goodbye. I walked on the muddy floor and was surprised to see Alpha Reed in front of my
Sorry, I came here unannounced again." “Again?" Marietta looked at Alpha Reed with confusion at why he said ‘Again’ when he had never been to her house except now. “Oh, sorry. I forgot you lost your memories and didn't remember anything until a year ago.” “It's not a problem Alpha. Please come inside.” Marietta said and unlocked the doorknob, inviting the Alpha into her home. Marietta was glad she had arranged her home earlier that morning because if Alpha Reed had come a day before or yesterday, she would have wished the earth would open up and swallow her whole. “Would you like a cup of coffee, tea, beer, juice, or water?” Marietta asked walking towards the kitchen. “Don't you think that I'm too old to drink coffee, beer, and juice?” Alpha Reed asked with a smile. Marietta felt stupid immediately he replied to her question and the thought of hiding in the kitchen for a while, pretending as if she was making tea ran past her mind in a flash. “So, tea it is?” “Tea, it is.”
“Miss…miss are you okay?” The stranger asked, looking at Marietta with an emotionless gaze. Marietta looked at him with shock in her eyes and whispered to herself, “Was I daydreaming? I can't believe I was daydreaming.” The unknown man looked at her suspiciously before asking, “Is your leg okay?” “My, my leg?” Marietta asked, snapping her eyes away from him and looking at her wet leg. “Oh, it's okay, I'm fine,” she said, scratching her head and smiling shyly. “That's good.” The unknown man stood up and looked at her with a lazy eye. “My name is Harley Montgomery, I'll pay for the damage I did to your Snickers.” “My snickers, what happened to my shoe?” she asked and looked at her foot to see her shoe already drenched in coffee. “You don't need to worry yourself, it's okay, I have another pair of new sneakers,” Marietta said, searching through her bag and suddenly remembered that she left it at home. “You know what, I'll just go buy a new pair in a nearby mall…in an hour or tw
Chapter 8 Memories It's been two weeks since Harley and Marietta met. It was past midnight and ding was heard in a silent room. Harley was on the balcony with a glass of wine in his hand. Went into the room, picked up his phone from the table, and went back to the balcony. He looked at the message that was written and who it was from. “Why hasn't she slept yet? It's past midnight. Hm, I didn't know she was a night owl.” “:I couldn't.” He hummed and told her not to worry about it and switched it off. He was about to dip it back in his pockets when he suddenly thought about something. “Why not have a little fun.” He said to himself with a smirk. : “We only met two weeks ago and you keep trying to talk to me at every chance you get, you know that's called trying to act clingy right, or do you want me that much?” **** Marietta stared at the message on her phone and was dumbfounded. She didn't know what to say and kept repeating the words in her head. She dropped the phone on th
“You have to come with us to our pack and you can't refuse,” Harley said standing up. “Pack your things, but only the important ones, leave clothes out of it so no one would suspect you left.” “Your pack and my pack have been rivals forever, why are you helping me?” “You were taken out of the pack, so you are no longer a member of the Laufey pack. Does that answer your question? If so, let's get going.” Marietta looked at Zack in shock but he didn't look surprised so she decided to do as Harley had instructed, he's the Alpha after all. **** Three hours later, Marietta, Harley, and Zack arrived in front of the Montgomery pack. Marietta sighed, “ I'm back here. I didn't know your pack was this beautiful.” “That’s because you never left your pack,” Zack said smiling childishly at her and both Harley and Zack started walking towards the pack house. “Hey, wait for me!” Marietta yelled, running after them. Catching up to them and panting, “Goodness, I'm…I think I'm out of…of breat
“Leave us.” Harley said, looking at the raging Marietta.”Both Zack and Lexy left and shut the four behind them.Harley told Marietta to sit on the chair beside him.“What exactly do you remember?” Harley asked.Marietta told Harley all that happened to her, she told him how she failed to awaken her wolf for two years and finally succeeded when she was 20 years of age. She also told them how she got rejected by Sails the night he was given the Alpha title. All the while she was talking, Harley didn't say a word and looked sad, hurt, and deep in thought.Marietta who was burning in hatred, looked at Harley and saw his sad and hurt expression for the first time immediately calmed down. “Harley, Harley, are you okay?” Marietta tapped his shoulder and he snapped out of his daze.“Are you okay? You looked lost.” “Oh, yeah, sorry about that, I was just thinking about something.”“Mind telling me?” Marietta asked, making her voice as soft as possible.“It's nothing that big of a deal, it's
Back in Lautey’s pack. “What, what do you mean she's still alive? She can't possibly be alive, she should be dead.” “Alpha Reed took her out of the pack on the last day of school and she was spotted in the human world and then back here, a few weeks ago.” An unknown man in a suit with a mask on, said looking out the window. “If she’s back then why didn't she come back here to see her best friend? The last time I remembered, my son rejected her and she lost her memories.” “Which means, she can't possibly come here on her own. Someone has brought her back. Well, thanks to that someone whoever it is, he or she just made my work a lot easier.” Thalia said, looking at the unknown man at the window. “It's not that easy.” “And why is that?” “Because Thalia, the person.. no, let me rephrase my words, the people who brought her back are the Alpha and beta of the Montgomery pack. She's currently in their territory which isn't easy to get in by the way.” “What! Why is it that every time
“Who's next?” “What do you mean?” “Why don't I rephrase that, what are you going to do now Thalia?” “We'll go with the original plan and watch out for Lolla. Easy.” “You know nothing is that easy, right?” “I know, but let's just act like it is.” “So I'll look for a way. Now that I have the title of both Alpha and Luna to myself, I'll manipulate Slias and get him to start a war with the Montgomery pack.” “And if he doesn't listen?” “Oh he will, I'll make sure of it,” Thalia said with an evil smile on her face and walked towards the window. ** Montgomery pack ** “Remember what Selene said about me…” “Us.” “Yeah sorry, I was going to find a witch to help me revive Monica's spirit fully?” Marietta said looking at Harley. “Vividly,” “She gave us a deadline to how long the piece of Monica’s spirit in me would last.” “Haa, I don't remember that, like at all.” “Wait, who are we talking about?” Both Zack and Lexy asked in union looking lost. “Selene, the Moon goddess came
Both Harley and Marietta gave her an innocent smile before looking at each other.“We will free your kind but first you have to help us and don't play tricks,” Marietta said looking at Miranda suspiciously.“Deal.”“That’s too easy and fast, what's your take on it?”“I trust you and as I said earlier, all I want from the both of you is to free me and my kind from this shit hole,” Miranda said looking frustrated at the cave.“Okay, I guess we gave a deal then.”With a smile on her face“Follow me.” Miranda led them to a part of the cave where a stream sprinkled with beautiful diamonds and crystals and a small flat rock. She took a bowl, dipped it into the stream, and gave it to Marietta.“Drink up and Harkly, can you help me hold her?”“Wait a minute, how did you…?”“Know your name?”“Selene told me?”“The Moon goddess?” Harley and Marietta asked in union. “I guess that's what she's called now.”“How long have you been here?”Marietta asked, placing the bowl of water beside her on the ro
In the final moments of the battle, the Dark Sovereign’s forces began to retreat, their advance thwarted by the resilient defense of Rivendell. The clash had been fierce and costly, but Marinetta and her allies had succeeded in holding the line. As the enemy withdrew, the battlefield fell into an uneasy quiet, marked only by the distant sounds of retreat and the lingering scent of smoke and sweat.Marinetta stood amidst the chaos, her armor battered and stained, her breaths coming in heavy, ragged gasps. Around her, the wounded and victorious alike began to assess the aftermath of the fierce confrontation. The battle had left its mark on Rivendale, and its people were left to grapple with the cost of their hard-won victory.Harley approached Marinetta, his own appearance reflecting the toll of the battle. Despite the exhaustion etched into his features, his eyes shone with pride and relief. “We did it,” he said, his voice a mixture of weariness and triumph. “Rivendale is safe.”Marine
The dawn of the impending assault brought with it a chilling sense of inevitability. Rivendale, once bustling with the frenetic energy of preparation, now lay in tense anticipation as its defenders braced for the clash that could determine their fate. Marinetta’s leadership had unified the packs and allies, but the uncertainty of the Dark Sovereign’s plans loomed like a dark cloud over their preparations.Marinetta stood atop the command center’s balcony, her eyes scanning the horizon. The morning light painted the landscape in stark contrasts, and the weight of responsibility settled heavily on her shoulders. Harley joined her, his presence a reassuring anchor amidst the storm of looming conflict.“The preparations are nearly complete,” Harley said, his voice steady. “Our forces are in place, and our defenses are reinforced. How are you holding up?”Marinetta glanced at him, her expression a mix of determination and concern. “I’m focused, but the anticipation is difficult. We’ve face
The darkened sky over Rivendell was lit by the faint glow of distant fires, a stark reminder of the ongoing war. The command center was a hive of activity, but beneath the surface, tension simmered. The recent discovery of a traitor within their ranks had shaken the confidence of Marinetta and her allies. Every decision now carried the weight of distrust, and the looming threat of the Dark Sovereign’s next move only added to their anxiety.Marinetta paced the command center, her mind racing as she reviewed the intelligence reports and strategy documents. Her concern for her people was evident in her furrowed brow and tense posture. Harley approached her, his expression serious.“Marinetta, we need to discuss the implications of Lucien’s betrayal,” Harley said, his voice steady despite the gravity of the situation.Marinetta looked up, her eyes reflecting the determination that drove her. “I know. The information he leaked could have catastrophic consequences. We need to assess the dam
Rivendale had settled into a tense calm after the recent campaign, but the air was thick with anticipation. Marinetta and Harley were well aware that the Dark Sovereign’s forces had only been temporarily disrupted. They needed to stay vigilant and ready for whatever came next. The command center was a hub of activity as Marinetta, Harley, and their closest allies gathered to review the latest reports. The room was dimly lit, the only illumination coming from the flickering screens that displayed maps, troop movements, and intelligence updates.Harley broke the silence. “The northern campaign has given us some breathing room, but we need to remain on high alert. We’ve disrupted their plans, but we can’t afford to underestimate the Dark Sovereign. We need to anticipate their next move.”Brian, studying a series of new reports, nodded in agreement. “The intelligence suggests that the Dark Sovereign’s forces are regrouping and recalibrating their strategy. They’ve been quiet lately, which
In the aftermath of the siege, Rivendale slowly began to recover. The city was a testament to resilience, its people and defenders working tirelessly to repair the damage and restore normalcy. Despite the victory, Marinetta and Harley knew that the Dark Sovereign’s forces would not give up easily. The respite was short-lived, and they needed to be prepared for whatever came next.Marinetta and Harley convened a strategy meeting with their closest allies and key city leaders in the command center. The atmosphere was heavy with the weight of their recent battles and the uncertainty of the future.Brian addressed the group, his voice carrying the weight of the situation. “Our victory in Rivendell was hard-won, but it’s clear that the Dark Sovereign is not going to relent. We’ve managed to push them back, but we need to anticipate their next moves and prepare accordingly.”Zack, who had been analyzing recent intelligence reports, added, “The dark energy readings have shifted. It seems lik
In the days following the battle at the dark fortress, the atmosphere in Montgomery was tense and charged with urgency. The victory was bittersweet, as Marinetta and Harley knew that their enemy’s final assault was still imminent. The Dark Sovereign’s forces were regrouping, and it was clear that their next move would be critical. The command center was abuzz with activity as the team gathered for a briefing. Brian, Zack, and Silas were all present, their faces reflecting the seriousness of the situation.Brian addressed the team with a grave expression. “The intelligence we’ve gathered indicates that the Dark Sovereign is preparing for a major offensive. The dark energy readings have intensified, and it appears that they’re mobilizing their forces for a siege.”Marinetta leaned forward, her gaze steady. “Where will the assault take place? Do we have any information on their target?”Zack nodded, bringing up a map on the screen. “The Dark Sovereign’s forces are targeting several key l
The aftermath of the battle at the fortress left the team in a state of somber reflection. The command center buzzed with activity as they analyzed the intel gathered and prepared for their next steps. Marinetta, Harley, and their team returned to the compound, their faces marked with exhaustion but also a fierce determination.Brian was already hard at work, pouring over the latest reports and analyzing the impact of their recent victory. “We’ve dealt a significant blow to the Dark Sovereign’s plans,” he said as Marinetta and Harley entered the command center. “But we need to understand the full scope of their strategy and anticipate their next moves.”Marinetta took a deep breath, her mind racing with thoughts of the upcoming battles. “We’ve uncovered some crucial information about their ritual, but it’s clear that they’re preparing for something monumental. We need to find out more about this final assault they’re planning.”Harley nodded in agreement. “The Dark Sovereign’s forces
Back at the compound, the atmosphere was tense as Marinetta and Harley recounted their findings and experiences. The team had managed to disrupt another critical focal point of the Dark Sovereign’s power, but the sense of impending danger remained palpable. Everyone gathered in the command center, ready to hear the latest updates and strategize their next move.Brian, who had been working tirelessly on the maps and intel, looked up as Marinetta and Harley entered. “How did the mission go?” he asked, his tone reflecting a mix of concern and curiosity.Marinetta and Harley took their seats, clearly exhausted but determined. “We managed to neutralize another dark energy source,” Harley said. “But the intensity of the dark magic and the strength of the dark warriors we encountered were more than we expected. It’s clear that the Dark Sovereign is consolidating power and preparing for something significant.”Brian frowned, nodding in understanding. “We’ve been monitoring several other locat
As dawn broke over the compound, Marinetta and Harley returned, their bodies exhausted but their spirits resolute. The early morning light filtered through the trees, casting a golden hue over the compound’s fortified walls. Inside, the mood was a mixture of cautious optimism and tension. The successful disruption of the dark ritual had provided a temporary reprieve, but everyone knew that the real challenge lay ahead.Brian, Zack, Silas, and the rest of the pack were waiting in the command center, ready to hear the latest update. The room was filled with a quiet intensity as Marinetta and Harley entered, their faces reflecting the weight of their recent battle.Brian looked up from the maps and reports strewn across the table. “How did it go?”Marinetta, still catching her breath, addressed the group. “We disrupted the ritual and neutralized the dark crystal, but it’s clear that the Dark Sovereign’s forces are more resilient than we anticipated. We encountered a powerful dark figure
