Valentino was lying on the rooftop of the packhouse in a long-sleeved white shirt and a white thong, drowning himself in one hundred percent alcohol. It has been two weeks since the incident and he was still not over what happened to him.
“Valentino?” someone called out to him.
Turning his head to the right, he said, “Fuck off, Grayson, what more do you want from me?”
Grayson sat down beside Valentino. With a sheepish smile he said, “You should not be drinking such strong wine, you will die.”
He scoffed, “It’s fine. It’s not like there is anything worth living for.”
Grayson sighed. He gazed up at the moon and said, “Valentino, you know what a mate means to us. I am really sorry for leaving you hanging like that. I did not mean to.”
Just as Valentino wanted to growl at him, his phone dinged beside him.
He picked his phone up and read the notification: Wolf, you have a message from Lonely Man.

“I need you to file these documents and look over the agenda for next week’s meeting,” Alaric’s boss said. Alaric looked at the man and said, “I am the financial advisor, not your secretary’s manager. It is not in my job description to do everything else.” His boss stared down at him and said, “And I am your boss. Do what I say or you can just quit.” Alaric looked at his boss and sighed. He honestly did not need this job, but it was a pass time. The man walked away and Alaric looked at the documents his boss left, then put it in the first drawer in his desk. “I wonder what he will do when he finds out that you like men and not the woman he fancies,” Zuri, the sales manager, said. Alaric looked at Zuri and shrugged. “Maybe I should quit.” “And let him win? You should stay here and make his life miserable,” she suggested with a wink. Alaric smiled without commenting. It was not worth it to work unde
Alaric sat in his office until late again. When his boss returned from lunch, he piled more work up for Alaric to do. It was early morning hours when he returned home to an empty house. He suddenly frowned and remembered that Valentino was staying at a hotel and not in his home. Sighing, he quickly got into the shower and out, then phoned him. “Hello?” Valentino asked, sounding as though he just woke up. “Did I wake you?” He asked as he sat down on his bed. “Mn, did you just get home?” Valentino asked him. “Yes, your visit made things difficult for me,” Alaric said, and pulled on his shorts and shirt. “Sorry for that,” Valentino apologized. “It’s fine. Do you still want to go to the beach?” He asked him while he slipped into his slops. Valentino yawned and got up from bed, “Yes, I still have to give you your card back.” Alaric chuckled and said, “Okay, I will be there shortly after
Alaric lied down beside him and said, “I too had a mate, but he was called husband. I was married to him, but our village was attacked and I ended up here in your world instead of dying.” “Huh?” Valentino asked, confused. He sat up and looked down at Alaric and said, “You need to explain it to me clearly so I can understand. Did you not say we need to get to know one another?” Alaric scoffed and said, “I was part of a race one thousand human years ago. The other races were jealous that we were far advanced than theirs and stole what we cultivated to use against us. I was nothing but a poor man, but my husband was rich and was one of the leading men who had led our race to where it was — he loved me for who I was and even though many said I was useless, he believed otherwise. He always told me that as stressful as his job was, whenever he was with me, nothing seemed to matter.” “He sounds nice,” Valentino said with a smile.
Alaric arrived at work with a cup of coffee in his hand and frowned when he saw two unidentified men at the front desk. They were talking to the receptionist and when she saw him enter; she told the two men, and they turned to look at him. They stared at him for sometime then approached him; one man asked, “Are you Alaric Saint?” “Yes, what seems to be the problem?” Alaric asked. “We received a report that you were seen with a minor outside this building yesterday,” the man said. Alaric’s fists formed at his side, he went over to sit on a chair and looked at them and said, “Okay, since you received the report, I do not mind answering your questions, but first, I want to know who reported me and when because the so-called minor visited me in the late morning hours, why did it take you so long to arrive, are you not worried that he could be dead?” The two men looked at each other, then one said, “We would like to further q
“Do you know how hard it has been without you these past years? The children are all grown up now and need so much attention that I cannot give them because I have to work. A few months ago, I contacted a babysitting agency, and they finally sent someone that the twins love and so do I.”*Koda sat across from an elderly lady and asked, “Do you have kids of your own?”The woman smiled at him as she nodded her head and said, “Yes I do, three boys who are all working.”Koda nodded his head slowly as he heard through the pack link, > I dislike her daddy, she smells funny.Don’t be rude Heather, the two of you keep complaining and it’s annoying! Can’t we just go to aunt’s house? I dislike all these strangers, daddy,“Thank you for coming today. The agency will be in touch with you after the final interview.”“Thank you sir, I am looking forward to wor
“See you tomorrow,” said Helianthus to her father. She ended the call and turned around. The twins were looking at her eagerly. She smiled at them and said, “Okay, you two, time for bed.”“Listen here Sunflower, I don’t want to go to school and I refuse to sleep,” Heather said, all sassy.“Well then, you are going to stay up all by yourself while the rest of us sleep,” Helianthus said and walked off with Briar, who gave her a house tour.Heather turned to her father, who was sitting with his tab on the couch, and said, “Daddy, I don’t like her anymore.”“Too bad and it is too late to change your mind now,” Koda said without looking at her and continued to tap away.Heather huffed and ran after them, finding the horrible two in their father’s bedroom.Helianthus looked around the room and saw a picture of a woman in a frame. And saw that she looked like Heather.Looking down at the twins, she asked as she pointed at the picture, “Who is this?”“Our mother,” Briar answered.“Where is she
Koda arrived home and saw that his children were sitting at the dining table obediently doing their homework. He went over to his kids and kissed them on the cheek and asked, “Why are you children so good today?”They looked at their father, then looked at each other and remained silent, getting back to their work.Koda shrugged it off and went looking for Helianthus and found her in the laundry room sitting on a chair and folding the clothes.“I am back from work,” Koda said.Helianthus yelped as she jumped up from the chair and looked at him, horrified.“Ah, ah, welcome home si, sir,” Helianthus mumbled, afraid.Koda raised a brow and asked, “Did something happen?”Briar came over and hugged his father’s leg and asked, “Daddy, can we go for a run? My legs are itching.”Koda’s eyes shot over to Helianthus, then quickly back to his son and said, >What did I tell you about bringing that up around her?“It is too late, she found out.”Koda’s eyes w
A few days later.Koda woke up to a grumbling stomach. He groaned and turned in bed and his arm hit against a space where Helianthus was supposed to be.He frowned and listened carefully within the house. He heard cutlery falling with a few mumbles and curses. He got up and walked to the kitchen with silent steps and saw that Helianthus was in the kitchen baking. He walked into view and his hoarse morning voice hit her ears, “Why are you up so early?”Helianthus jumped but quickly calmed down and looked at him surprised, “And you, why are you awake? I put you to sleep not too long ago.”Koda turned around and looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it was three in the morning and he went to bed around twelve. It would have been later if Helianthus did not force him to stop working and go to bed.He looked back at her and said, “I’m hungry.”Helianthus chuckled and answered his question, “Well, I got the bright idea to bake bread and made muffins and fudge.”Koda nodded his head an
“Destin, where are you?” Jade called his daughter.“Here,” a small voice answered.Jade walked into the living room and saw his daughter lying on the floor scribbling on paper. Jade crouched down and looked at the drawing his daughter made and asked, “What demons are you drawing?”Destin’s head snapped up and she glared at him and said, “Daddy it not monster, it my papa.”“Urgh,” Jade sighed as he got up and picked Destin up as well and grumbled, “It looks like a damn octopus, not a wolf my child.”Destin grabbed Jade’s ear and said, “It my papa daddy.”“Yeah whatever, get your sm
The Sins looked at their brother and shook their head, this idiot was pretending to be sick while his mate was pregnant for what?In the hospital room, Mateo sat down on the bed beside his mate surrounded by the family. Seeing that the problem was not too bad as it seemed, the vampires left, they knew better than to stay on foreign land for longer than they should.“So? What now?” Corbin asked as he looked at Jade who was asleep.Mateo looked at the necklace in his hand then at Jade and said, “I can’t believe that I did not see it coming.”Kane sat down on the floor and asked, “How did she get it right? It’s barely detectable.”Mateo looked at his sister and said, “I gave
Jade was bloated, big and extremely nervous. The Silver Clan found out about Mateo’s condition and now they were coming over - so not only are a bunch of wolves heading this way but vampires too!Jade thought that vampires only existed in movies and scary stories but for them to be real? How could such things exist?Jade was worried for the sake of himself and for his child. He did not want to believe that whoever they were, was family to the bastard who was lying in bed still after a whole two months! Were they going to come here and hurt them? Jade really wanted to pack his shit and leave but the money and the bed were so good not to mention, he could please himself with Mateo’s body whenever he wanted because Mateo could not move. One thing was good though
Jade was on his last as he grew exhausted from nausea, his body just felt raw and the stress that Mateo brought a few nights weighed high on him.Sitting with his head on his fist, he looked down at the ground then looked over at the bed. The clan had not contacted him in fact, he heard that they might all be dead because of what Mateo did and now, it felt like the reason why Mateo was in the hospital was all because of him.He stood up and walked over to the door. He looked at the driver or in this case the Beta and said, "I want the doctors to check on me, I really do not feel well."He looked at Jade and nodded his head, "I will send one up to the room or would you prefer to be checked in a different room?"Jade thought it over, he wanted to know what was wrong with h
Mateo woke up the next morning beside Jade feeling like he was on cloud nine. He looked at Jade and could see that his mate was exhausted to his very bones. He moved over and kissed Jade on the lips then climbed out of bed.Mateo went to make coffee for himself then went to shower. After he got out of the shower, he returned to the bedroom to check on Jade and saw that he was no longer lying on his stomach but his back.He chuckled and closed him making sure that he would not get sick, got dressed in his clothes then went down to his car and changed into clean clothes. He climbed into his car and made his way to the location he texted Duke.He arrived at a clearing and saw that Duke and his pack were waiting for him. Mateo smirked and climbed out of the car.He wal
"So what are you going to do about Duke?" Jade asked Mateo who was hugging him.Mateo looked over Jade's shoulder and saw the table, "Well, I first want to bend you over that table and pound you in until you cannot use those legs of yours again."Jade let go of Mateo and turned around to look at the table Mateo was talking about. He walked towards it then lied himself flat down onto the table face down. He turned his head to look at Mateo and said, "I am still a virgin."Mateo walked over to him and knelt down beside the table and looked at Jade at eye level and said, "I will not do anything that you do not want to."Jade stood up straight and looked at Mateo, "I do not know what it means to have this bond you have been talking about so I cannot relate to you."Mateo smiled at him and said, "I understand, the bond is the greatest felt when we are intimate with our partners. We can wait as long as you want to but the sooner the better, I am not gett
Jade sat in his apartment patiently as he waited for Mateo to come. Mateo knew where he was so he should know how to find him here at home. The meeting with Duke surprisingly was too easy but why did he need to talk to Mateo? And Mateo? His wolf's name is Accius -- why did he not ask him about it?The doorbell rang and he jumped up. Jade rushed to the door and opened it.There stood Mateo looking as dull as he always looked but Jade did not care about that at all.He rushed into Mateo's arms and wrapped his arms around his neck then started balling his eyes out.He was so scared and Mateo could tell it just from listening to the sound of his cry.He hoisted Jade up and walked into
Jade was put into a car with Xavier. The driver was one of Mateo's men.The man was given clear instructions to take Jade back to the hideout that he did not know Mateo knew of and was completely stunned when he heard the address given because it was exactly the right place - now this all just made Jade want to know what was going on.First, he turned into a werewolf and now? How did he know his boss and everything else? Was there some sort of history between their boss and Mateo?Jade looked over at Xavier who was still unconscious even after being treated by Mateo's people and punched him on the arm to try and wake him up but there was still no response from him.Their boss was so gonna be pissed but wait! Why did everyone suddenly die like that, they gave strict instr
Mateo was sitting in his office with a frown on his face as he looked at the documents he received from the background check he got done on Jade.“Is there a problem Mr Silver?” His secretary asked.Mateo looked over at his secretary and nodded his head, “Jade is part of the Black Wolf Clan. The public does not know this but the Black Wolf Clan belongs to a few wolves I’ve had problems with in the past when I arrived in the UK.”His secretary sat down in the visitor’s chair and crossed her left leg over her right and said as she thought, “I have heard of him and the others through my contact. Many fear him from the time when he murdered all those policemen that went after him.”Mateo chucked the papers on his desk and leane
