Chapter Ninety-Five

The greatest irony of the world lies in expectations, as I rushed around preparing for a ceremony worthy of an Alpha I tried my hardest to suppress the bitterness that was building inside of me. 

Though I was not alone in my endeavours, everyone who I’d ever held dear to me was by my side, I couldn’t help the feeling of emptiness that engulfed me, the devastation that existed in my every breath, because the only person in the world it ever mattered to have by my side, was no longer there. 

I couldn’t get over the irony of everyone insisting that the funeral be prepared with the utmost care to make it one worthy of a king, because “not only was Jasper an Alpha, he was a member of the Honour race”.
