Chapter 325: I Can’t Wait

The merpeople’s leader called my name outside the half-circle of light just then, but his voice sounded very distant. When I looked up at him, he was leveling his entrancing eyes at me, while he pressed his webbed paw outside the circle, as if there was a glass wall blocking him.

That sight was very familiar to me—I must have seen it somewhere. Nonetheless, my body reacted quicker than my mind, and I raised my palm, spreading my fingers so that it overlapped against his hand that was outside the half-circle, and soon we were brushing our noses against each other’s, our breaths tangling.
