So, I went back to the drawing board with this book, reevaluating the plotline and taking my time to figure out how to wrap up this story and give it closure. Yes, the story is ending this month, hopefully, the last week of October, but I don't plan to drag it into November. Regular updates will start tomorrow. This month is also my final exams month, so the pressure is there. I read all the comments about you guys not wanting a long story, and I am not a big fan of that either, so let's bring this bad boy to an end and move on.
Well, see you all tomorrow with new chapters, and to everyone that reached out to "author Rever" on all platforms, thanks for the kind words.
Thank you all for the gems, time, and money you have spent on my work.
Sincerely
Author Rever
Silently, Elijah studied Dr. William's face for any sign of lying, which he never found in the doctor's expression. Finally, Elijah leaned forward and said, “Let me get this clear, so none of the seven is his?”“Yes. Hayes fathered none of Jewel's children.” Dr. William replied. There was a long pause as Elijah tried to force his brain to come to terms with that fact and then he scoffed in disbelief, shocked about how much Madam Jewel had gotten away with.“Do you have a copy of the results?” Elijah finally asked after collecting his thoughts.Dr. Williams's face fell, remorse and guilt evident as he whispered, “No… I gave Hayes those because he requested them the day Meeks visited him at the hospital... The copies were all destroyed after his death… Jewel said that if anything about the results come out in any way, I and my children would be dead, so I had to do what I had to do to protect their life...”After hesitating for a while, he sighed and said, “If Meeks didn’t get killed,
As he stared at her bare body while she reached out for her robe, Josh sighed, running his fingers into his hair, mumbling, “I am divorced now. There’s no need for us to keep this a secret anymore and keep having sex in remote places like this.”A soft, yet humorless laugh slipped from her lips as she wore her robe, turned to face him, and then said, “You think you are more special than the rest, huh?”“Well, your screams last night said so, and we have been doing this for years. Why would you keep having sex with me if I was not special, sweetheart?” Josh cockily uttered, pushing the sheets off him as he got out of bed.“I wish I would have ended up with her Ex-husband, then her brother since Melina used to love bragging about how great he was in bed and gentle-”“Jessica!”“What?! Huh?! I screamed because you are always rough! But just because I like that doesn't mean you are special.”Rage flashed across Josh’s eyes before his gaze softened as he shook his head, remembering what he
The sight of Jessica made Elijah frown slightly, but when their eyes locked, he immediately turned his focus back on Sen. Butcher who was now shaking hands with Bryan. “Happy birthday, Mr. Butcher. It's always my pleasure getting an invitation to your birthday celebrations each year.” Bryan said with a faint grin as he let go of the old man's hand. Returning a small smile, Mr. Butcher then darted his eyes on Elijah, mumbling, “Not a lady tonight... you have upgraded your plus one to someone way more intriguing.” “Happy birthday Congressman Butcher. It's my honor to be here to celebrate your big sixty...” Elijah humbly replied, but the look in his eyes was still piercing even though he tried not to show it. His gaze softened slightly when he saw the calm smile Mr. Butcher had sent him which was enough to put Elijah's heart at ease and to make him grin at the old man. “Isabella, come here, please.” Mr. Butcher instructed, looking back at a young beauty, pointing to the young woman
Even though Dice was confused as to why there was a bunch of men coming toward him and a lady shouting in the bathroom when it should only be Elijah and the janitor, he stood his ground, ready to defend.“What is going on?” Dice firmly asked, glaring at Tony, the five men, and Josh rushing toward him with a deadly aura surrounding them. “Step aside!” Tony shouted, puffing his chest as he stopped in front of Dice.“What do you guys want?”“Move!!”Suddenly they heard Jessica screaming from within, her voice shaky, “Elijah, I am begging you... You are hurting me!”After overhearing the conversation outside, Elijah frowned slightly as he reached into his coat pocket with a sigh, and took out his phone, holding it against the left side of his chest, directing it casually at Jessica, who was too busy playing her role to see that he was recording her.Eyeing the two guys on his right, Tony winked at them as a signal, making both men rush for Dice, causing him to step back from the door and
Struggling against his anger, Elijah drew a deep breath, knowing he had to stall for a moment, and said, “So these two are the ones paying you to do-”“Hahaha! Nah… Take a wild guess.” Tony mocked, and at that moment, his ringtone interrupted.Slowly, he took out his phone and answered in a pompous tone, “Yes, Sir. We have him, and are detaining him.”Then he pressed the speaker button, letting everyone listen to Mr. Butcher said, “Since that's the case, there's no need to call Bamford then. Detained him in the basement with his man and called Dr. Lethal to take a look at Jessica.”“Umm... She might need to go to the hospital, Sir.” Tony nervously mentioned, looking back at Jessica's bloody nostrils.“Tony... Get someone to take her to a damn hospital or something. Today is my birthday, and I wouldn't let such a scandal get tied to my reputation with all that is already happening... I will explain things to her father later, and we can get that piece of shit handled for his insolence.
The anger Elijah felt suddenly burst out of his throat in a bitter laugh as he ignored the pain it caused him, his rage fuelling his courage, and then his face went cold as he said, “I did no such thing, and maybe if our Senator would have used his brain and not his heart-” Frowning, Isabella raised her hand, swinging it for his face, but Elijah caught it in midair and tossed her hand away from him carelessly. “How dare you!” Sen. Butcher shouted, moving for Elijah, but Dice, Larry, and Rick stood in his way, Dice mumbling with a death stare, “Fuck off.” Raw shock flooded Mrs. Butcher's face, and she turned her attention towards her husband who seemed to be lost in his thoughts as he stared frozen at all the men surrounding Elijah. Scowling, Elijah met the senator's gaze, saying, “All I wanted was to congratulate you on turning sixty and have a nice night, but you had to join in with those two in offending me-” “You see yourself as the victim here?!” Isabella lashed out in disbeli
As the lights from the cameras went off and on, Matt, Rayn, Rookie, Dice, Jerome, Larry, Rick, and a couple of Elijah's men kept Peach in the middle of them as they made their way out of the hospital parking lot.“Please get out of the way! We are not taking any questions!” Dice announced firmly as the reporter struggled to get a glance at Peach's face.“Mrs. Darius!! What's your intake on the news that your husband forced himself on Jessica Astor last night, at Senator Butcher's party?!” A news lady screamed from the back.Eyes blurry with tears, Peach halted, her fists tightened at such words about Elijah, which Dice and the others had already filled her in on what happened last night.“Mrs. Darius, is it true that your husband bribed the police to side with him on this matter, and that's the only reason Mr. Butchen and his men got arrested last night?” Another journalist asked, pushing up to the front of the pack.“Members of Congress, like other citizens, are subject to investig
“Beep... Beep... Beep...” That sound made Peach grip tighten on the knob after she had pushed the door open and saw Elijah lying in the hospital bed, wearing a blue gown. “They're going to wake him up, right?” Peach whispered, unable to move from where she stood, swallowing down her fear. “Yes. Mr. Darius was in so much pain last night, that’s why we had to put him to sleep, but he will awake. It’s just a twenty-four-hour thing. He is just sleeping.” Dr. Wilson's voice startled her, making Peach jump back a little before she turned around to see the doctor holding a clipboard. A gentle smile graced his lips as he laughed softly, “Sorry for scaring you, by showing up from out of nowhere.” “It’s fine.” Peach said, almost in a whisper, giving the doctor a weak smile as she slowly brushed her palm against her arm. There was a brief pause as Dr. Wilson stared at her puffy wet eyes, darting left and right. Then he softly sighed, widening his smile to comfort her, and then asked “
