Chapter 5- Lara gets poisoned.

She rose, gained her composure, and tried to attack Amelia again. Her target was Amelia’s ears. She knew that her ears were her weak point. If bitten, she would lose her power and be defeated. But Amelia was too vigilant and tricky, and she would never allow her to touch her ears. Amelia bit her arms as she tried to attack her ears. Clara reacted again by biting her huge thighs. A smirk was implanted on Amelia’s muzzle, as she hardly felt much pain due to having a bulky body.

In a jiffy, she raised her thighs, and Clara was at once yanked backwards and thrown into a thick tree, cracking her ribs. She fell to the ground with a thud, breathing heavily. Amelia stood rejoicing as she could see that Clara was hurt deeply and might not rise again. With a swift motion, Clara rose and succeeded in biting Amelia’s ears. The excruciating pain that swept across her nerves made her release a long howl that slightly rose and fell in pitch. The audience just kept waiting for Amelia to rise, but she failed.

The atmosphere was filled with the rejoicing slogan, “Long live! Blood Moon Pack!” But since Alpha Gabriel was absent himself, Amelia’s powerful Beta freed himself from the chains and came running to the spot, carried Amelia with the help of the soldiers, and fled into the deep forests to escape from being enslaved. The powerful Beta could be defeated only by Alpha Gabriel himself. All the other soldiers including Beta Leon were inefficient in handling him.

Almost immediately, Alpha Gabriel reached the spot, carrying his unconscious mate in his arms. Melancholy was writ large in his face, and he kept examining Lara very closely while carefully placing her senseless body on the mattress that was brought by an Omega slave. It seemed that the great, mighty, and commanding Alpha would shed tears soon. But then, he was the Alpha, and he had to be strong, and he was supposed to have control over his emotions.

Ella was just spellbound at the sight of Lara. She resembled her exactly in her looks as well as in her physique. “No wonder they were calling me ‘Lara’.” She considered.

“Well done! Clara! You will be rewarded for your bravery. You have made us proud by gaining a victory over the powerful Alpha Amelia. It was a cumbersome task. But you accomplished it.” Alpha Gabriel appreciated Clara’s performance in the battle, although he was extremely sad at that moment.

"But where is Amelia? Beta Leon! You should have imprisoned her. I wanted her to be our slave. How could you let her go?” Alpha Gabriel yelled again.

“It was just your absence that kept me confused, Alpha! Pardon me for my negligence. But I wondered if we could enslave a female Alpha or not!” said Beta Leon with his head bowed.

“You better resign from the post of Beta then, Leon! Do you even understand what you have done? You have let her escape! She will attack us again with double her force! We will again incur huge expenses and heavy losses for our army. Her powerful army has already injured so many of our soldiers and killed a few as well. We will have to get them treated from our own treasury now. We will have to give compensation to the families of the soldiers who have lost their lives in the battle.” Roared Alpha Gabriel.

“I am extremely sorry for my negligent behavior, Alpha. I was just a little confused while her Beta got an opportunity to carry her away with him and escape. I am ready to get punished for the same.” Confessed Beta Leon in a subdued tone.

“I will forgive you this time just because you are an extremely capable, honest, and loyal Beta. But I command you to be more vigilant and prompt the next time.” Said Alpha Gabriel with a smile.

“I am worried about my mate at present much more than anything else on this earth. Call the doctor and ask her to examine Lara immediately.” I instructed the Alpha.

“I have already summoned him, and he might just be reaching this spot,” said Beta Leon.

He had hardly uttered the words when the doctor reached the spot. He examined Lara and said, “She has been administered aconite. I would have given her the antidote for the aconite, but then she has been administered such aconite, which has been turned by magic into highly poisonous aconite, that even the antidote would have no effect. Was she visiting that witch in the recent days?"

“Yes! The greed for more power and strength had instigated her to visit the witch, and she had started blindly following her instructions. I tried all I could to stop her from falling into the trap of the witch, but then she kept ignoring my advice as though she were hypnotized.” Narrated by Alpha Gabriel in a sad voice.

“She can now be cured only if she is administered the venom of a rarely available species of scorpion. Only the witch herself can give more information about where it can be available.” Suggested the doctor.

“The witch will never give the same information. She is too vicious. She has deliberately forced her to consume the aconite. She gets complacent with the deaths of each werewolf who falls into her trap. She once fell in love with a werewolf who deceived her. Since then, she started taking revenge by killing werewolves in this manner.” Alpha Gabriel stated:

“But if you want to save Lara’s life, then you will have to find some way out to extract the information about the availability of the venom from the witch." Suggested the doctor.

“This girl will give the information. The witch has sent her in Lara’s disguise to confuse us.” Said Alpha Gabriel, looking at Ella in a stern manner.

“Hey girl! Give us the information if you already know about it, or else you will have to collect the information from the witch. If you don’t do as told, then you will be killed, and we will feed upon your meet." Ordered the Alpha.
