He had been so clear in his attitudes at the hospital, it had soon occurred to the interested doctor that I was not just a usual employee to the powerful Christos Fernandez but something more and I had felt so dismayed when I saw the disappointed look in his eyes. As if he had thought a girl like me wouldn't be so stupid as to fall for my boss.

Of course, Christos noticed the look also and the silent hand he placed on my shoulder was another warning to the doctor to back off and just do his damn job. Sure enough, the man needed no prompting after that. Seeing that I was not available as he had earlier thought soon dispelled his interest and he focused on the job at hand.

So professional he was that even when that arrogant boss of mine made it clear I would only be taking an injection under a woman’s care, he had simply nodded without a blink from him. Of course my reaction was different, I had blinked so severely at his rude behaviour, I could not hide my disbelief.
