“You need to see a doctor, Becca, and no, don’t tell me you don’t like going to the hospital because I will not settle for it this time. I was a fool to believe you the last time.” I forestalled her from saying the words I knew were coming.

“But I am at work right now.” She used the next excuse she thought would work and I found myself chuckling despite the mood I was in.

“Not anymore. You are not.” I stated authoritatively.

“I am not?” She finally raised her head to look at me in an askance tone.

“As of now, you are closed for the day, my lady. Time for you to go home and no, you will not come back until the doctor says you are fit to resume work.” I warned in a stern voice that was meant to convey my seriousness and she rolled her eyes.
