Chapter 63: Deceived

The door slammed loudly in the master's bedroom which startled the life out of her. She looked wide-eyed as the intruder shut the door so hard that the room literally shook from the force.

"W-What..." she uttered, her heart racing in panic as she searched for the person, but when she saw that it was no stranger at all, she began to calm down. Her heart started beating fast, but now it wasn't because of the panic or the fear, but with excitement and happiness.

Because standing in the same room was none other than her own husband.

She immediately stood up, eyes were wide from disbelief. "Hubby?" she whispered, not believing her own sight.

Is he really home?

Did he finally come back to see her?

Xavier stood still, looking at her with indifference, but she was too focused trying to confirm that her husband is finally here to even notice how he looked at her.

She couldn't believe it. It seems like years since they have seen each other even though it was literally just a week. She mis
