“Is that all you know?” I ask, my arms suspended in my pockets, hovering around Betty as she concludes her unbelievable confessions.

“Yes. They can't know about it or they'll kill me,” Betty pleads, with tears dropping on her folded fist under her chin.

“I know those I'm dealing with. You need not remind me.”

I signal to someone behind the glasses. Immediately the door swings open and two officers walk in.

“What are they doing here?” Betty asks, troubled, exchanging glances at the men and and me but I'm lost in thoughts.

“Why are they taking me? You promised. You fucking promised to let me go–”

“There you got it all wrong Betty. I promised to keep your identity secret. I said nothing about granting bail. We'll have a little chat once I confirm all your confessions. Please take her.”
