Weylin Turner was sleeping peacefully, snuggling into the soft cushion of the backrest of the couch. The sun hasn't risen yet, causing the prevalence of the chilly atmosphere. Covering his ears with the blanket, he moved a bit. Suddenly, he felt like someone was moving around in the room. Initially, he ignored the sensation but the more he ignored it, the more the frequency of the steps had increased.
Opening his right eye, he glanced at his surroundings only to find his wife walking around, wearing a short gown.
"Hm? What's up?" Weylin gazed at her with droopy eyes. He was still half asleep as he tried to figure out what she was doing.
"Wake up, Mr Turner," Garaine smiled, eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Mrs Turner!"Within a blink of an eye, Weylin pulled his wife by her hand, hiding behind a giant rock. Slipping his fingers into her hair, he pulled her close, causing her head to rest on his chest as if he was trying to protect her from the cruel world."Are you alright?!" The young master asked, his voice contoured with worry, cupping the back of her head gently."Y-yes," Garaine stuttered, still in a daze because of the sudden turn of events. She could feel the loud heartbeat of her husband as if his heart would jump out of his ribcage. Subconsciously, she clutched his shirt, forming wrinkles on it.Again the gunshots were heard, making Weylin scowl.
"Brother Thomas?!" Garaine uttered, gazing at him with disbelief in her eyes.Lips curving upwards into a devious smirk, Thomas chuckled without humour. Running his fingers through his hair, he cracked his neck before his sharp gaze fell on Garaine."Do you like my surprise, Mrs Turne-" Thomas paused. Clicking his tongue, he continued. "I mean, Mrs Smith?""How do you know that he is not Claude Smith but Weylin Turner?" Garaine frowned, her hands clenched into fists. Suddenly, her eyes widened, brows almost disappearing into her hairline, as if she had realized something. "Don't tell me that you belong to some mafia gang!""It looks like our sweet Garaine has hit the bull's eye," Thom
"Mr Turner…" Garaine uttered as soon as Weylin left her hand upon entering their hotel room.Weylin stopped, turning his back to his wife while the latter glanced at him, agitated. Weylin's shoulders slumped before he let out a deep breath."Freshen up, Mrs Turner," Weylin said in a low tone, his voice contoured with compunction. Without turning his face towards her, he continued. "It's been a long day. You should get some rest.""We need to talk," Garaine asserted, clenching her fists as she could apprehend the heavy tension in the atmosphere. She could clearly sense that her husband wasn't even a bit interested in talking to her."We can talk later," Weylin answered, turning
After the previous day's accident, Weylin decided to return to their home as soon as possible to avoid any other troubles. As an efficient leader, he couldn't risk either his life or his wife's life.Garaine was combing her long hair, getting ready to leave for England. She glanced at her husband who was struggling to button up his shirt with his bandaged hand. His fingers tried to grasp the small button but because of his injured intrinsic muscles, he couldn't properly hold the button between his thumb and index finger. Braiding her hair, she kept observing her husband, waiting for him to ask her for help, but he was so immersed in his task that he failed to notice her gaze on him. This stubborn Mr Playboy! Cannot he just ask me for help? Poor him! Just look at the struggling guy.
Garaine's eyes bulged out as soon as she realized that she was held at gunpoint. Brows knitted into a deep frown, she took a step back subconsciously."W-who are you?" Garaine asked again, clutching onto her clothes.Judging from the masked man's eyes, she could clearly tell that he was smirking. Within a blink of an eye, he raised the gun at forty-five degrees above her head and pulled the trigger. A petrified Garaine closed her eyes tightly, anticipating the moment. Slowly, she opened her eyes when some small particles touched her skin softly like a feather. Confetti was falling on her while there was a balloon tied just above her head which was popped by the gunshot. It seemed like it was some kind of surprise welcome. She was thrown for a loop as she glanced at the man standing in front of her.
(Warning: Mention of violence, torture and blood)Getting down from his car, Weylin's calloused fingertips massaged his glabella gently, trying to relieve the splitting headache. He thought of spending some quality time with his wife, but because of the unwanted intruder, he had to compromise on his wish."Good heavens! This headache is killing me!" Weylin mumbled, closing his eyes briefly. "Tch…Spending time with Mrs Turner is so soothing. It makes my worries disappear within a blink of an eye." Sighing heavily, he dragged his feet. "I was supposed to return home with my wife but because of that weird woman and her crazy demands, I have to return alone. Tsk tsk... it's a monotonous journey."As he walked on the path, the bodyguards, who were stand
"I think I am heading in the right direction," Shadow mumbled, her boots click-clunking against the hard floor as she walked in the dark path towards the secret room of Weylin. As soon as Weylin and his bride had left for Hawaii, she sent her spies to keep an eye on the newlyweds. Her instincts kept whispering to her that something might happen. Proving the old saying 'woman instinct never fails', that night the attack on Weylin happened. No sooner had she received the news, she secretly sent a private jet so that the assassin could be brought without any slip-up.When she thought the situation was under her control, she lost track of the assassin after the jet landed in England. Weylin's men took the charge of an assassin, hiding him efficiently from the entire world. Taking for a ride, Weylin's men secretl
"Dad?" Weylin uttered as he slowly entered his father's office. "You are already back?" A surprised Blake stood up from his chair. Walking towards his son, he smiled. "I thought you were going to spend around four to five days there. Did you enjoy the trip?" A guilt-stricken Weylin's lips slipped down in despair, feeling like he had committed a great crime. Listening to his father's gentle voice, he couldn't help but feel even more guilty. He could feel his eyes getting moist. Unable to face his father, he hung his head down. "What's wrong, son?" Blake asked, seeing his son fidgeting. He put his hand on his son's shoulder. "Are you alright? Did something happen?" "Dad, you al
Garaine spent the next few weeks resting in Weylin’s bed. He didn’t want to take any risk and moved her to his room. He was so careful while taking care of her, providing the utmost love, support, and anchor to her that she left like she was some spoiled princess of some distant fantasy world. He provided everything from time to time starting from medicines to food. In his absence, his specially appointed maids took care of her. He even made time out of his busy schedule to accompany her on walks so that her recovery would speed up. His boundless dedication and great deal of care made her heart flutter, making her fall for him all over again. He even remembered what her favorite snack was and which brand she preferred. Through all the sweet loving moments, Garaine felt like something had changed in Weylin. Though he was being all lovey-dovey with her, giving her a princess treatment, she felt he was being somewhat distant. He seemed to distance himself from her after they reconci
"Divorce!?” Leysa gasped, putting her hand on her lips. “You are talking about divorce!” She turned toward her husband who was standing beside her while she was sitting on a chair. “Blake, is he really our child? Did you really inherit our genes?” Blake glanced at his wife, shaking his head at her dramatic remarks. He was at a loss of words when Lucia informed him about Weylin’s reckless decision. “Weylin, your father and I have been together for fifteen years,” Leysa stated proudly. “Never did he mention breaking up with me, or divorcing me even though I’m from a normal background. How can you think of divorcing her when she is a well-trained assassin?”Weylin didn’t say anything. His gaze was glued to the floor. A heartbroken Garaine kept taking glances at her husband, hoping that he would change his mind.Lucia was standing beside Garaine, comforting her best friend whenever she became tense while Jace stood beside Weylin. The way they were so engrossed in the serious conversatio
What’s this strong unpleasant odour? Antiseptics? Disinfectants? Where am I? Oh! I remember. I took the bullet that was meant for Mr. Turner. Seems like I’m in hospital right now. I can hear some indistinct voices. This voice. It's very familiar. Is It Mr. Turner? But what is he saying? I cannot hear it clearly. Please speak loudly. I wanna hear your voice. “Please wake up soon, Garaine. I can’t bear to see you like this. Please wake up for me.”I’m awake Mr. Turner! Mr- Wait, I can’t open my eyes. Ugh! I have to open my eyes. I want to see him. Is he crying? Why is his voice quivering? “Mr. Turner…” She croaked, blinking several times to adjust her vision. Weylin, who was holding her hand between his palms while touching it to his forehead, immediately looked up. His eyes widened as he saw her blinking at him. “Garaine, you are awake!” “Water,” she grunted. He immediately poured some water in the glass. Helping her to get up slowly, he held the rim of the glass near her lips.
Weylin’s eyes widened. “Don’t!” Weylin screamed. One of his most important principles was to never sacrifice his allies for his benefit and he couldn’t leave her to die when she had been his best friend since he rose to power as a mafia leader in the USA.“Drop your guns and let me get out of the mansion safely,” Oliver demanded shamelessly. Before he could take a step forward, cross-firing started. Taking advantage of the situation, they collected their guns and hid behind whatever furniture they found nearby. Blake along with Leysa hid behind a massive pillar.Leysa tightly hugged Blake, hiding from the gun sounds. Suddenly, a stream of memories of the incident where she lost her memories played in her mind. The situation where she lost her memories was no different from what was going on right now. She started to feel dizzy. She cupped her head, trying to soothe the head-splitting headache. A chain of events where she was separated from Blake and her child flashed in her mind. B
“Is everything alright?” Shadow asked in an utter grim tone. “Yes, master.” The reply came from the other side of the call. “Our men encircled the Davies’s mansion and we are keeping an eye on their every move from the shadows. They don’t seem to notice us.” “Good! We will be there within ten minutes,” Shadow said. “Everything should go according to the plan.”“Roger!”“What’s up?” Weylin asked, focusing on the road as he was driving. “Everything is going according to the plan,” Shadow informed. “We will just have to barge in and kidnap Madame Turner. Spider is more than prepared for this. If needed our men wouldn’t hesitate to open fire and kill Oliver Davies.”“Killing the Davies is also one of the most important tasks for today’s mission,” Weylin asserted. “If we fail to put an end to Oliver, Mirela will do it.”“I hope she wouldn't change teams at the nick of the moment,” Shadow mumbled, not trusting her enemy’s daughter even for a second. “She won’t,” Weylin replied firmly,
"Where are you, Spider?” Shadow asked, sitting opposite to Blake Turner in a luxury restaurant. “How long will it take for you to reach the said location?”“Aw…my darling, Shadow, do you miss me that much?” Spider responded from the other side of the call. “It seems like you can’t bear to wait a second more to meet me. Do you miss me that badly?”“Cut the bullshit.” Shadow rolled her eyes while Blake keenly observed her facial expressions. “Do you even know how long we are waiting here? It has been almost 2 hours.’“Aw…my baby has been waiting for that long?” Spider’s voice sounded like a teenage girl fangirling over her favourite idol. “You love me that much?”The voice from the other side of the call was so loud that Blake could hear her. He chuckled, listening to their banter. Shadow glanced at Blake who seemed to enjoy the situation. He signalled her with his eyes to answer instead of gazing at him. “My darling Spider, I swear if you spout nonsense again, I’ll make sure to bury
“What?”Garaine flinched. Subconsciously, she touched her face only to feel her mask. She heaved a sigh of relief as her cover didn’t blow. “Why are you covering your face like that?” Weylin frowned, narrowing his eyes. “Take that annoying mask off your face first. I cannot see your beautiful face.”He reached his hand out to take her mask off when she leaned back, making it impossible for him to touch her mask.“What are you doing, young master?!” Garaine exclaimed. “God! He is so out of it”. She mumbled, rolling her eyes. “I guess these drunkyards left me with no other choice.”“What are you mumbling?” Blake looked at her. “My apologies but I have to do this.” Garaine gave a sudden blow at Blake’s neck, hitting his carotid artery, knocking him unconscious. She held him by his waist to prevent him from falling on the floor and sustaining injuries. “What did you do to my father?” Weylin looked at her with horror in his eyes. “The next in the line is you.”Garaine stretched her li
"I need to distract myself.” Weylin lightly slapped his cheeks and climbed the stairs to his father’s office. It was 10 am and he planned to keep himself as busy as possible to avoid the reminiscence of the events revolving around Garaine. As he climbed a few more steps, a waft of alcohol assaulted his nose. He stopped in his tracks. “Alcohol?” Weylin frowned. “Who is drinking alcohol this early in the morning?” He quickly reached his father’s door when the scent of alcohol intensified. He gasped when the realization hit him. “Don’t tell me Father…""Father!" He opened the door with a loud bang without caring to knock. As soon as he opened the door, his eyes almost popped out of his sockets while his jaws slacked at the sight that was welcoming him. Blake was sitting on the floor with his head buried in his arm on the table. He was holding his wife's huge portrait with the other hand. His blazer was pitifully lying on the floor as the owner seemed to discard it hours ago. His wh
Garaine turned around only to find her husband sitting on the couch. She gulped nervously as she realized what would happen next. She tried to read her husband’s expression but since the room was dimly lit, she failed. “You are supposed to be sleeping now. Why aren’t you sleeping?” Garaine spoke, trying to mask the anxiousness on her face.“That’s not important, Garaine.” Weylin stood up and took a step forward. ”I'm not letting you off the hook today.”Weylin’s voice was cold enough to send chills down her spine. Garaine lowered her gaze as she knew she had no escape today. It's natural for a loving husband to worry for his wife and Weylin was indeed a very loving husband. He was just worried about her.She parted her lips but she just couldn’t bring herself to spill the beans about her deepest secret to her husband. Thousands of unwanted negative thoughts started to gnaw her mind. What if he starts hating me? What if he stops loving me? He actually fell for my caring side, not for
