It was a fine day. The area was filled with a crowd that seemed to have its own life. The fans were cheering for their idols who were going to participate in the famous motorcycle race - 'The California daredevil race'.
As the name suggested, the motorcycle race was truly one of the most dangerous races, taking away the lives of several expert motorcyclists. The prize for winning the race was so tempting that it attracted all the experts without thinking twice about risking their life.
Weylin Turner under the pseudonym 'Rider' was waving his hand at his fans. He was seated on his motorcycle Yamaha YZF-R6. His long hair, which touched the base or his neck, was combed backwards while a few naughty locks fell on his forehead. His friend, Jace Smith stood beside him, chuckling at his friend's popularity.
"Weylin, I know you want to impress your fans. So make sure you will win the race," Jace said, running his hand through his hair. "Be careful. You know how dangerous this race is."
"Hmm...is there any time where Rider lost the race?" Weylin snickered. "Don't worry. I won't die so soon. I still haven't found my Miss Right yet. And you already know that dying as a single is a sin."
"Man! I can never expect anything better from you," Jace laughed.
Suddenly an announcement was made asking participants to get ready for the race. After an announcement for the participants, Weylin put on his helmet, preparing for the race. Giving a short nod to Jace, Weylin proceeded towards the track.
As he was getting ready, his eyes fell on a racer with a Yamaha YZF-R3. A small frown appeared on his face as he saw that the racer's figure was a bit different from the male, more like a feminine figure. That person was dressed in black attire with blue stripes drawn from the tip of the shoulder up to the wrists and the gloves covered their hands, covering every inch of their skin. They wore a helmet, making it impossible to see their face. Since the race was only limited to male racers, he brushed off the thought, focusing on the race.
Soon the race started, leaving the audience thrilled. The racers almost flew their bikes, taking sharp turns on the tracks. Within a few minutes, there appeared an area with a sharp turn at a cliff. Unable to change the direction, a racer fell straight into the cliff. The cliff was several feet deep and that area was known as the valley of death. Soon there appeared more and more spine-chilling challenges, taking away the lives of a few other racers.
After some time, it was seen that the racers were speeding towards the ending point. Weylin seemed to be in the leading position, causing his fans to scream in joy. But unfortunately, the situation didn't last long. Within a blink of an eye, a Yamaha YZF-R3 seemed to lead the race, leaving Weylin in the second position.
Weylin Turner, who never lost a race, seemed to get irked by this. Increasing the acceleration, he took the first position as he moved towards the finishing line. Within the next moment, Yamaha YZF-R3 appeared beside him, moving in equal with him.
The thrilled audience was biting their nails, anticipating the situation. Both the racers were fighting for the first position. As they were about to touch the finishing line, Yamaha YZF-R3 crossed the line before Weylin, becoming the winner of the motorcycle race.
Weylin Turner came second in the race. The man who never came second in anything couldn't stand still. He badly wanted to see the face that defeated him. Before he could go to that biker, the latter seemed to change their direction, going away from the racing ground.
"Weyli-"
"Jace, receive the award instead of me," Weylin interrupted Jace, turning his direction, planning to follow the winner.
"Where are you going!?" Jace shouted as Weylin already started to accelerate.
Upon receiving no response, he stood there, watching his friend disappear from his sight.
"This guy! I wonder what attracted his attention this time". Shaking his head, he headed back.
Suddenly he noticed that the winner was absent from the place. Facepalming internally, Jace looked at the sky hopelessly.
"God! This guy is out of control now. He even ditched his prize to find out who the winner is!"
---------------
The biker on Yamaha YZF-R3 drove to a quiet place, far away from the competition grounds. Stopping the motorcycle on the side of the cliff beside a tall tree, the biker removed the biker gloves. Meanwhile, Weylin hid behind a huge trunk of the tree, observing the biker's every action.
Hah! What am I even doing here!? Stalking!? Clicking his tongue, Weylin continued peeping behind the tree trunk.
Weylin's brows got knitted together, forming a frown when he saw a few other motorcycles appear out of nowhere, circling the winner.
What's going on? Is that bastard also a gangster or what!? Don't tell me that he is being hunted by the bad guys! Should I save him?
Being in a dilemma, Weylin observed the scene. The other bikes continued to circle the biker as if they intended to threaten the winner. Assuming that the bikers might be the bad guys, Weylin decided to interfere. He was about to take a step when he suddenly halted. His eyeballs almost popped out while his jaws almost slacked upon witnessing the unexpected.
The winner removed the helmet, letting down two long braids. She tucked back the few strands of hair that fell on her forehead. Her upturn, gentle eyes glared at the bikers who were still circling her.
"Are you guys done?" She asked in a soft yet cold voice, stopping the bikes.
"Yes, my lady." One of the bikers removed her helmet, laughing softly.
"Garaine Jones, I knew you would win the race," another biker smiled, removing his helmet. "But I didn't expect you to defeat the famous 'Rider'."
"You guys should be grateful to me." Garaine Jones rolled her eyes. "If it weren't for that damn bet, I wouldn't have participated in this race."
"You cannot ignore the tempting prize, dear Garaine." One of her friends chuckled, getting off his bike.
"Make sure I'll receive 80% of the prize money. You guys can share the remaining prize money as well as the award." Garaine seemed to have no interest in the award.
"Why are you always like this? You should claim your award, girl!" The earlier girl huffed, almost smaking Garaine.
"I only need the money to develop the orphanage. I don't need the other things." Garaine replied, taking a sip from the bottle that her friend offered.
So she is a girl! Weylin exclaimed. She actually seems interesting. A lady biker, huh?
Chuckling, he slowly slid his fingers in his pockets, taking out his phone. Without making any noise, he clicked a few pics of Garaine. Smirking, he took a glance at the winner before leaving the place.
As he left, Garaine felt like she heard the noise of a motorcycle. Turning towards the direction of the sound, she didn't see anyone.
Strange!? Am I hearing things now!? Garaine blinked confusingly. Tch...whatever, I want to return to England as soon as possible.
------------
"Where did you go, brat!?" Jace Smith smacked Weylin as he returned.
"Find everything about this woman," Weylin said, showing the picture of Garaine in his phone, ignoring the previous question.
"Who is she?" Jace narrowed his eyes, trying to recall if he knew her.
"Yamaha YZF-R3, the winner of the race."
"What!?" Jace's jaws slacked. "What do you mean by the winner? This race doesn't allow any females."
"She tricked others and participated as a male participant," the young man chuckled. "She is kinda interesting. As far as I saw, I think she wasn't even interested in the race. I want to know each and every detail about her."
"As you wish, young master." Jace chuckled upon seeing his friend being so enthusiastic for the first time in a while. Woah! Weylin is talking so much about a woman in a positive way. It seems that I need to check in depth about this woman. I wonder who this lady is!
"We need to fly back to Florida as soon as possible. Tomorrow, we are going to take over one of the most deadly mafia organisations- The Viper."
Weylin's facial expressions grew dark while a devilish smirk appeared on his face.
The casino Blue Flamingo was filled with vibrant neon colors. The outstanding luminescent shades of royal blue with orange added more fame to the casino, attracting gamblers like that if the bioluminescent underwater organisms attract their prey with their bioluminescence. The lavishly decorated interiors proclaimed that the casino was not for some ordinary gamblers, but the gamblers and players with deep pockets. The constant undertone of slot machines in action filled the area, sounding like a robotic background theme. The gamblers seemed to be focused on the machines, some sighing while some grinning in joy. Weylin Turner, standing all tall and proud, entered his casino - The Blue Flamingo. His side-parted jet-black hair was combed sideways, leaving a few naughty locks on his forehead. Dressed in a Brioni suit with black gloves covering his hands, he walked amidst the casino, towards the private luxury room which was specially booked for him. His hawk-like hooded eyes glanced at
After landing in England, Weylin Turner deplaned. Rising his head up, he enjoyed the soothing sunshine that was touching his expanses of skin. His lips curved upwards into a gentle smile. Hmm...this is the pleasant smell of England. I missed it too much. "Enjoying the nice weather, huh?" Jace chuckled, glancing at his best friend. "Of course!" Weylin laughed gently. As he walked a few steps, a black Mercedes A 600 appeared, followed by a few black BMW 7 cars. Men dressed in complete black got down from the car, bowing to the young master. "Welcome, young master." The driver of Mercedes who was dressed in a black suit greeted him. Weylin flashed a warm smile with a slight nod. No sooner had Weylin and Jace got into the Mercedes than they departed, destined to arrive at the Turner's Mansion. After some time, Weylin arrived at the mansion- the place where he had millions of childhood memories with his father before he was sent away. The huge mansion seemed like a luxurious
Running his fingers through his wet hair, Weylin put his hand on the rim of the bathtub. Leaning on the edge of the tub, he took a deep breath, inhaling the relaxing lavender fragrance which was filled in the bathroom. The twilight bath bomb in the lukewarm made the bath even more pleasant."Shadow prepared all this…" Weylin trailed off, scrubbing his body. "Everything is just too perfect- the fragrance, the bath bomb, the temperature of the water and the atmosphere. How does she know everything about me? How did she come to know that lavender fragrance is my favourite? Most importantly, who is she!? She even denied revealing her real identity. On top of that, she has special approval from dad."These thoughts had been bothering him a lot for a while. No matter how much he tried to put the pieces together, Shadow seemed
Upon reaching his father's office, Weylin stood there, observing his surroundings. The walls were painted with grey colour. Most of the furniture seemed to be of limited edition and highly expensive. Weylin chuckled internally upon observing that most of the things were black coloured. Starting from the expensive couch to the shelves, most of the items were black coloured since black was Blake Turner's favourite colour. His taste is still the same. He can never step down from expensive and luxurious choices. Weylin smiled. He is the leader of 'The Devils' after all."How's your business going on?" Blake asked in a serious tone, serious enough to let
"What is this!?"Weylin frowned upon witnessing the bizarre scene. The intruder was tied with thick ropes to the chair while his neck was hanging to the side. He looked intact but his bitter facial expressions were enough to show that he experienced some harsh torture. He seemed to lose his consciousness after receiving 'special treatment' from Mr Chapman."How's it?"Shadow's cold voice reverberated in the cold room as she walked inside. Looking at the tied man for a while, she glanced at Mr Chapman."He is still alive. He just lost his consciousness," Mr Chapman replied.
Sitting on The Eames Sofa, the young master was leaning comfortably against the soft cushion. His fingertips were tapping against the arm of the sofa, making a soft tapping noise. His sharp eyes were looking at the papers, going through the information. Rubbing his index finger on the edge of the paper, he turned the paper, finishing looking into the information."Garaine Jones…"Weylin mumbled, gazing at Garaine Jones's photo on the information papers. His lips were curved upwards into a slight smile."So she works at an orphanage, huh?" Weylin grinned, running his thumb against the photo. "An expert bike racer, and now a caregiver? I wonder if you have some other profession as well."
Weylin was about to turn back and leave the place when his eyes fell on someone, leaving him thunderstruck.Garaine Jones was standing at the door, surrounded by the kids. Crouching, she was laughing heartily while the kids seemed to complain to her about something. Her long, jet black hair which was tied into a high bun moved a bit, as she laughed. A few naughty locks fell on her round face, making her look adorable. She was dressed in a light coloured shirt with dark blue jeans, keeping it simple yet elegant.Weylin couldn't take his eyes off her. Mesmerised by her beauty, he kept observing her every move with a slight smile on his face. How can a person emit two different auras at the same time?
"Are you Weylin Turner, the well-known mafia leader?" Garaine asked out of blue, eyes filled with suspicion, making Weylin stop on his tracks.Weylin felt like his heart dropped for a moment. He never expected to hear these words from a person whom he had just met.How does she know about me!? Weylin thought, unconsciously staring at her. Am I that famous that even common people in England know about me?"Don't tell me you are really Weylin Turner!" Garaine gasped, eyes almost popping out of her sockets."Wait, Miss. What are you even saying?" Weylin's brows knitted together forming a frown
Garaine spent the next few weeks resting in Weylin’s bed. He didn’t want to take any risk and moved her to his room. He was so careful while taking care of her, providing the utmost love, support, and anchor to her that she left like she was some spoiled princess of some distant fantasy world. He provided everything from time to time starting from medicines to food. In his absence, his specially appointed maids took care of her. He even made time out of his busy schedule to accompany her on walks so that her recovery would speed up. His boundless dedication and great deal of care made her heart flutter, making her fall for him all over again. He even remembered what her favorite snack was and which brand she preferred. Through all the sweet loving moments, Garaine felt like something had changed in Weylin. Though he was being all lovey-dovey with her, giving her a princess treatment, she felt he was being somewhat distant. He seemed to distance himself from her after they reconci
"Divorce!?” Leysa gasped, putting her hand on her lips. “You are talking about divorce!” She turned toward her husband who was standing beside her while she was sitting on a chair. “Blake, is he really our child? Did you really inherit our genes?” Blake glanced at his wife, shaking his head at her dramatic remarks. He was at a loss of words when Lucia informed him about Weylin’s reckless decision. “Weylin, your father and I have been together for fifteen years,” Leysa stated proudly. “Never did he mention breaking up with me, or divorcing me even though I’m from a normal background. How can you think of divorcing her when she is a well-trained assassin?”Weylin didn’t say anything. His gaze was glued to the floor. A heartbroken Garaine kept taking glances at her husband, hoping that he would change his mind.Lucia was standing beside Garaine, comforting her best friend whenever she became tense while Jace stood beside Weylin. The way they were so engrossed in the serious conversatio
What’s this strong unpleasant odour? Antiseptics? Disinfectants? Where am I? Oh! I remember. I took the bullet that was meant for Mr. Turner. Seems like I’m in hospital right now. I can hear some indistinct voices. This voice. It's very familiar. Is It Mr. Turner? But what is he saying? I cannot hear it clearly. Please speak loudly. I wanna hear your voice. “Please wake up soon, Garaine. I can’t bear to see you like this. Please wake up for me.”I’m awake Mr. Turner! Mr- Wait, I can’t open my eyes. Ugh! I have to open my eyes. I want to see him. Is he crying? Why is his voice quivering? “Mr. Turner…” She croaked, blinking several times to adjust her vision. Weylin, who was holding her hand between his palms while touching it to his forehead, immediately looked up. His eyes widened as he saw her blinking at him. “Garaine, you are awake!” “Water,” she grunted. He immediately poured some water in the glass. Helping her to get up slowly, he held the rim of the glass near her lips.
Weylin’s eyes widened. “Don’t!” Weylin screamed. One of his most important principles was to never sacrifice his allies for his benefit and he couldn’t leave her to die when she had been his best friend since he rose to power as a mafia leader in the USA.“Drop your guns and let me get out of the mansion safely,” Oliver demanded shamelessly. Before he could take a step forward, cross-firing started. Taking advantage of the situation, they collected their guns and hid behind whatever furniture they found nearby. Blake along with Leysa hid behind a massive pillar.Leysa tightly hugged Blake, hiding from the gun sounds. Suddenly, a stream of memories of the incident where she lost her memories played in her mind. The situation where she lost her memories was no different from what was going on right now. She started to feel dizzy. She cupped her head, trying to soothe the head-splitting headache. A chain of events where she was separated from Blake and her child flashed in her mind. B
“Is everything alright?” Shadow asked in an utter grim tone. “Yes, master.” The reply came from the other side of the call. “Our men encircled the Davies’s mansion and we are keeping an eye on their every move from the shadows. They don’t seem to notice us.” “Good! We will be there within ten minutes,” Shadow said. “Everything should go according to the plan.”“Roger!”“What’s up?” Weylin asked, focusing on the road as he was driving. “Everything is going according to the plan,” Shadow informed. “We will just have to barge in and kidnap Madame Turner. Spider is more than prepared for this. If needed our men wouldn’t hesitate to open fire and kill Oliver Davies.”“Killing the Davies is also one of the most important tasks for today’s mission,” Weylin asserted. “If we fail to put an end to Oliver, Mirela will do it.”“I hope she wouldn't change teams at the nick of the moment,” Shadow mumbled, not trusting her enemy’s daughter even for a second. “She won’t,” Weylin replied firmly,
"Where are you, Spider?” Shadow asked, sitting opposite to Blake Turner in a luxury restaurant. “How long will it take for you to reach the said location?”“Aw…my darling, Shadow, do you miss me that much?” Spider responded from the other side of the call. “It seems like you can’t bear to wait a second more to meet me. Do you miss me that badly?”“Cut the bullshit.” Shadow rolled her eyes while Blake keenly observed her facial expressions. “Do you even know how long we are waiting here? It has been almost 2 hours.’“Aw…my baby has been waiting for that long?” Spider’s voice sounded like a teenage girl fangirling over her favourite idol. “You love me that much?”The voice from the other side of the call was so loud that Blake could hear her. He chuckled, listening to their banter. Shadow glanced at Blake who seemed to enjoy the situation. He signalled her with his eyes to answer instead of gazing at him. “My darling Spider, I swear if you spout nonsense again, I’ll make sure to bury
“What?”Garaine flinched. Subconsciously, she touched her face only to feel her mask. She heaved a sigh of relief as her cover didn’t blow. “Why are you covering your face like that?” Weylin frowned, narrowing his eyes. “Take that annoying mask off your face first. I cannot see your beautiful face.”He reached his hand out to take her mask off when she leaned back, making it impossible for him to touch her mask.“What are you doing, young master?!” Garaine exclaimed. “God! He is so out of it”. She mumbled, rolling her eyes. “I guess these drunkyards left me with no other choice.”“What are you mumbling?” Blake looked at her. “My apologies but I have to do this.” Garaine gave a sudden blow at Blake’s neck, hitting his carotid artery, knocking him unconscious. She held him by his waist to prevent him from falling on the floor and sustaining injuries. “What did you do to my father?” Weylin looked at her with horror in his eyes. “The next in the line is you.”Garaine stretched her li
"I need to distract myself.” Weylin lightly slapped his cheeks and climbed the stairs to his father’s office. It was 10 am and he planned to keep himself as busy as possible to avoid the reminiscence of the events revolving around Garaine. As he climbed a few more steps, a waft of alcohol assaulted his nose. He stopped in his tracks. “Alcohol?” Weylin frowned. “Who is drinking alcohol this early in the morning?” He quickly reached his father’s door when the scent of alcohol intensified. He gasped when the realization hit him. “Don’t tell me Father…""Father!" He opened the door with a loud bang without caring to knock. As soon as he opened the door, his eyes almost popped out of his sockets while his jaws slacked at the sight that was welcoming him. Blake was sitting on the floor with his head buried in his arm on the table. He was holding his wife's huge portrait with the other hand. His blazer was pitifully lying on the floor as the owner seemed to discard it hours ago. His wh
Garaine turned around only to find her husband sitting on the couch. She gulped nervously as she realized what would happen next. She tried to read her husband’s expression but since the room was dimly lit, she failed. “You are supposed to be sleeping now. Why aren’t you sleeping?” Garaine spoke, trying to mask the anxiousness on her face.“That’s not important, Garaine.” Weylin stood up and took a step forward. ”I'm not letting you off the hook today.”Weylin’s voice was cold enough to send chills down her spine. Garaine lowered her gaze as she knew she had no escape today. It's natural for a loving husband to worry for his wife and Weylin was indeed a very loving husband. He was just worried about her.She parted her lips but she just couldn’t bring herself to spill the beans about her deepest secret to her husband. Thousands of unwanted negative thoughts started to gnaw her mind. What if he starts hating me? What if he stops loving me? He actually fell for my caring side, not for
