LEILA

.

.

“Her body felt so soft, and I just wanted to feel more of it,” Misa was still giggling, a light, airy sound that grated slightly on my already frayed nerves.

I turned to my left, grabbing the nearest drink from the counter, a clear, potent liquid that burned going down.

I was already feeling the edges of intoxication blurring my senses.

I scanned the club, trying to locate the two men, to see if my earlier unease had been justified, but they were nowhere to be found.

Maybe they had gone upstairs, or maybe I was just being paranoid, my mind conjuring threats where there were none, overreacting as usual.

“What’s wrong?” Misa asked, her voice pulling me back from my anxious thoughts.

I blinked, feeling like I hadn’t truly heard her as I reached for another drink, but she gently placed her hand on my arm, a subtle tension running between us.

“Just my thoughts,” I mumbled, trying to sound casual.

“What did you see?” she pressed, her gaze becoming more concerned.

LEILA ..He walked towards me, his gaze locked onto mine, and a chilling realization washed over me. I was the target. Not any of the others huddled in fear, not even Misa.Everyone else, the terrified guards, the whimpering maids they were just witnesses. The heavy door creaked open again, and several young women, some almost naked except for little coverage of panties, one completely bare, were shoved into the hall, their screams echoing off the cold stone walls. At that moment, a strange numbness settled over me, even as my insides trembled violently. The sheer audacity of it all, the blatant disregard for human life, for him to look at me with that cold, calculating intensity, I knew what it meant. They knew I was close to Damien but how had they figured that out?I hadn’t been out with him publicly, and no one here knew about our complicated past, our twisted version of family except for that visit to my mom and maybe they had been watching me for a long time.He stopped

DAMIEN ..The call dropped, the silence in the hotel room suddenly deafening after Misa’s frantic words. We had just stepped off the plane, the humidity clinging to us like a second skin, the promise of a few days of respite before heading back to New York hanging in the air.“What’s wrong?” I’d asked, my gut twisting with a sudden premonition.“Leila… the estate was raided. She was taken. Everything’s shattered.” I said to Gerald while he came around where I stood, looking at me like he had just seen a ghost but that was barely a problem as my eyes widened in disbelief, then narrowed with a white-hot fury that threatened to consume me.“They fucking took her?” I slammed my fist into the wall, again and again, the drywall cracking under the force of my rage.We were in a goddamn hotel room, the plan to return to our lives in the Alvaro’s Mansion the next day now a distant, mocking memory. “Buddy, you gotta hold on,” Gerald said, his voice surprisingly calm amidst my storm of fury.

DAMIEN ..The car ate up the distance, our car, three of which I had chosen from all the cars, and also I’d handpicked a few solid guys from Gerald’s crew, the kind who wouldn’t blink if hell itself opened up.Alvin wouldn’t know I was coming this night, maybe expecting me the next day, just like I hadn’t had any warning about his lowlife ambush. Guess he still hadn’t figured out who the fuck he was messing with.Every damn whisper in the New York underworld eventually found its way to me. I was the damn underworld, and the Alvaros weren't some two-bit operation to be taken lightly. Not even if I drew my last breath.I was the devil they all feared, and Alvin had just signed his death warrant, this kind of shit doesn’t happen while I watch , not on my territory.I walked towards the imposing gate of Alvin’s estate, the wrought iron cold against my palm as I pushed it open.My guys moved with a practiced silence, slipping through the opening like shadows. The air instantly crackled

DAMIEN ..I slammed my boot against the first door, the flimsy wood groaning in protest before splintering inward with a violent crack. Two hulking figures, built like brick frame, charged at me, their eyes promising a brutal fight. They looked like the kind of muscle Alvin would hire, thinking brute force could stop me.I didn't even break my stride, my gun already spitting fire, two quick bursts taking them down before they could even reach me. Their heavy bodies thudded onto the polished floor, the sound barely audible over the terrified screams of the women huddled in the corner, their hands clamped over their ears. They were mostly naked, just scraps of fabric clinging to them, their eyes wide with a fear that mirrored Leila's in my nightmares.I hated that sound, the sound of pure terror, it clawed at something inside me, a primal protectiveness for what was mine. That raw sound, the sheer vulnerability in their screams, only fueled the boiling rage inside me.I shoved the li

LEILA ..I knew he was here the instant I heard the first gunshot rip through the air.It was a sound I had become sickeningly familiar with in the last few weeks, but this one felt different, closer, more personal. For Me.When I had first arrived at this hellhole, Alvin had wasted no time in making his intentions clear. He had shouted obscenities into my ears, his breath hot and foul against my skin, warning me against even looking at Damien. They knew he was coming but not today. Although, at that point, I couldn’t fathom why he would, why he would risk everything for me, a nobody he had plucked from a life he barely acknowledged or maybe because he owned me and I know what that meant. But then Alvin had traced a possessive finger down my cleavage, a camera recording my every reaction, before forcing the cold, hard barrel of a gun into my mouth.I had thrown up afterwards, the taste of bile mingling with the metallic tang of fear and I had cried so much, tears streaming down my

LEILA ..My thighs were throbbing even through the thick bandages I had managed to wrap around them. It was a grim skill I’d picked up in this life, knowing how to treat wounds, especially after seeing Alvin shoot that poor nurse without a second thought, it has resurfaced within me, it hasn’t been me who’d had the knitting pin yanked out, Gerald had handled that, his face grim as he’d worked. We had left that burning hellhole behind, and as we drove further away, a deafening boom echoed in the distance. I turned to see Alvin’s estate engulfed in flames, a raging inferno against the dark sky.“We need your help,” Gerald said, his clothes looking fresh, like he’d changed into something new.He seemed to have regained his composure, but my mind was still racing, fixated on Damien.“How’s he feeling?”They had called someone else for medical assistance to oversee his injured area.“He needs to be stitched up and bandaged properly,” he scratched his head like some confused child. “N

LEILA ..“I want you here.”His words hung in the air, each syllable echoing in my ears like a warning bell, as if I was caught trying to escape, or maybe this was the last time he was ever going to see me.“I want to get some rest, and I think you need it too,” I said softly, placing my hand gently on his arm, trying to remove his grip on mine.I was still wary, acutely aware that he was the one who called the shots in this here, but he was weak now, vulnerable, and he desperately needed rest. “I just need a few minutes,” “It might help me sleep. I can get anyone to do it, but I think… I think I want to hear you speak.”He tried to push himself up higher against the pillows, his movements stiff and pained. He should have been lying flat on his back, protecting the wound, but instead, he was trying to sit up, his face etched with discomfort.“Why did you never question Mabel?” he asked, his gaze suddenly intense, piercing. This wasn’t the time to talk about my mother, not now.M

DAMIEN ..I moved to the other end of it, the cold granite of the tombstone pressing against my hand for just a second long before I pulled it away, throwing the flower in my hand to the floor, watching the petals scattered like littler pieces of something broken. It felt like it was just a few months ago, not fourteen, since we stood here for the first time, the raw gaping wound of losing him still fresh and the invisible bone in my throat didn’t seem to want to go off, stuck right there, all of this was a reminder of the day the world shifted on its axis.I fixed my shades back to where they were, shield my eyes from the weak sunlight that somehow felt too bright that day, moving towards my brother who had both hand crossed in front of him, a silent sentinel staring at the grave. It had been fourteen years already, etched into the stone was a number that felt both impossibly long and horrifically short. It felt like he just did it yesterday, the act that brought us here, the act

LEILA ..The weight of what he had just said settled heavily on me as I walked through the hallway leading back to my room trying to look back at the footsteps, even though I knew better than to actually turn around. It was messing with my head, this whole situation. He was kind of a gentle person this time without telling me to pick up my things and leave, which was totally unexpected after… well, everything.Although there was still little command in his tone even if he tried to be careful while I rocked on his crotch more of his dick back there, a chill crawled up my spine remembering how it felt.I didn’t look back, but I felt the weight of his gaze, mightily settling on me, burning into the back of my skull even through the damn wall I wished I wished was between us, just that feeling of being watched like he owned every inch of space I occupied, even the air I breathed.Actually he does.Pushing open the door, the familiar mess of my room greeted me, not totally a mess but I

DAMIEN ..That same day, my father had returned home, as if some instinct had warned him what was happening. He walked into the house, his face etched with a weary resignation, and then he saw a letter lying on their bed.I hadn’t touched it.I had gone into their room earlier, a knot of dread tightening in my stomach, to see if she had packed her things. And yes, everything was gone. She was gone.Leila was goneShe left without even looking back at us.He was a shadow of himself for a long time after that, a ghost haunting the halls of our once happy home. He was always complaining, his words laced with bitterness, and he stopped looking after us, lost in his own grief. He loved her more than he loved us, more than he had even loved my birth mother, who had died years earlier, two years after giving birth to Gerald.I watched him drink himself into a stupor night after night, embarrassing us at every turn, racking up more and more debt. Then, he fell ill, his body finally succum

DAMIEN ..I watched her retreating back as she gathered her things, her movements stiff, each step a testament to the pain she wouldn't voice. She didn't turn back as she limped towards the door, a silent goodbye.I knew she was hurting, both physically and emotionally, but she wouldn't let it show. That's Leila for you. Sex with her was always electric, a primal connection that left me breathless, and the way she moaned my name… it drove me fucking insane, and she knew I loved seeing her in that garter belt, a small, wicked detail that always set my blood on fire and she knew me too damn well, understood the twisted desires that lurked beneath the surface. This was it. The end of the Elvares. They were finally erased, a stain wiped clean, and if any of their bloodline, any distant cousin or forgotten offspring, still drew breath somewhere in this godforsaken world, then they should be ready for a war unlike any they had ever imagined. They should come armed with a fucking army,
