[Darcy]

The club's situation was significantly different from a regular day. A line of cars was parked at the back of the building, and some unknown people were pacing back and forth, unloading items from the vehicles. Tonight was the highlight of the SW nightclub celebration.

After giving Lydia the milk bag, I headed for the practice room. Felicia wouldn't be teaching me but focusing on the other dancers. She would check my dance a few hours before the show started.

I was at ease not having to explain or bother hiding the bite marks on my neck. I'd already compressed it with an ice pack and covered it with makeup. However, the sweat would wear off the disguise.

“Tonight is a special night, different from a normal performance night. You can't make any mistakes,” Felicia instructed. She entered the backstage room while we were getting ready.

“Meryl, you determine the success or failure of our nightclub's anniversary event. Dance well. Make me proud to have chosen you,” she told the wom

“Oh.” Taylor glanced at the door. “Is that your boyfriend? Okay. I'll be in the bedroom. Don't worry. You won't know I'm here.”“Tay,” I called. I sighed in annoyance as I watched her continue walking towards the bedroom on the right. What did she want by coming to my place? Didn't she attend the club's birthday event to represent Oscar? Why did she leave the place and follow me instead? That woman was annoying.I turned toward the door. Sinclair wouldn't have rung the bell, but he was the only one who had ever come to my unit. Felicia was at the club. She wouldn't leave until all the dancers had performed. Could it be Wesley?I approached the door and opened it. It was Scott. He handed me my phone, which I left in the car's back seat. After thanking him, I closed the door. I didn't remember taking it out of my bag.“Hm. That's too bad. I was hoping to meet the guy you're with right now,” Taylor said from the bedroom doorway.“You promised I wouldn't know you were here,” I protested.

[Sinclair]I leaned back on the chair and closed my eyes. What had just happened was in my plan. One person proved that Joaquin's group wasn't as strong as people claimed. They had a weakness that one person managed to penetrate.Someone knocked on my door and opened it. “What are you doing?” Enzo protested. “Wesley is one of our best people. Why did you fire him?”“He confessed to everything he did,” I answered.“Joaquin is everyone's enemy. You should side with our people, not the enemy, Sin. You'll lose a lot of trust if you fire him,” he continued.“Do you doubt my decision?” I challenged him.Enzo stared at me thoughtfully. He furrowed his brow. “You always carefully think things through, but that doesn't mean you won't make mistakes.”“The time is near. I want to clean up from now on. My son will be home, and I'm sure many will seize the opportunity to hurt me through him,” I explained. “I need to start by cleaning up after my confidant.”“But, Sin. Wesley managed to defeat Joaq

She strode beside me without saying a word.Neil stood between Felicia and me when we were in the elevator. I didn't understand why she followed us but allowed it. I turned left when we arrived at the destination floor. I stopped as Felicia stood before me.“So, the news is true. You and Darcy have a special relationship?” she asked with hurt eyes. “Sin, is that why you hired her at the club?”“Remember your position. He might have misunderstood me like Taylor. My cousin said I had many exes and slept with many young men. That accusation was weird. Did everyone judge me like that? What was wrong with having a boyfriend? I ended the relationship before getting into a new one with another. I didn't sleep with all my exes because only a few were genuinely affectionate towards me.“You guys are so wild. I heard you banging at dawn. She was so frightened to see her reflection in the mirror. The doctor confirmed my guess. Her face's condition wasn't due to a food or drink allergy but the use of unsuitable makeup on her face. All her protectors stood between us.I scrutinized her face. She looked uneasy after I mentioned Karl's name. What did she hide from me about the accident and the whereabouts of my husband's driver? I didn't want to believe it. Bridget and Sean couldn't have harmed their son."Don't make accusations without evidence. I can sue you for defamation." Bridget glanced at the door behind her. People around the place glanced at us and whispered with the person at their side. Others walked on without paying attention to us.“We can't get to the parking lot,” Scott said to the person on the phone. “Oh. Good.”“What's wrong?” I asked in confusion.“We're going to the car. Dad was pleased when I said goodbye. I bought his favorite food, and the warden let me give it to him. I left that place with a smile, but the visit broke my heart. I couldn't bear to see my parents suffer in prison. They weren't angels. Yes, they were cruel to people they didn't like, but they never sent anyone to beat others. They hurt with words and confronted their enemies directly, not hiding behind a hitman. The culprit was an ignorant coward. I didn't know how to find out the person behind the slanderous prisoner. I couldn't ask the warden to show me the security camera footage or bribe the culprit to confess.“Where to next?” Scott asked when we were in the car.My phone vibrated. “One second.”There was a new message from Taylor. She sent a picture of Jessica meeting a woman I knew. I scoffed. So, she paid that nanny to harm Edith? The place was quiet, unlike my visit on Saturday. There was only me in the large room. The door to the room opposite me was open. An officer entered and held the door open for a woman. My heart squeezed tightly at the blue bruises on the woman's cheeks. Her right eye was as red as blood, although it had faded. What prison was it? Why did the guards let another inmate beat up a prisoner every week? My mom could die before finishing her sentence.“Darcy, thank God you came,” Mom sobbed.
