I wouldn't forgive anyone who dared to touch that child. I guarded him from the moment he was born with my life. Therefore, I chose the best person to watch over him. If anything happened to him, the person who guarded him would die first.

“Master Dashiell called when they were at the playground. People attacked us there. We managed to subdue them and get home without anyone following,” he reported.

“Prove it,” I urged.

The call turned into a video call. My son's bodyguard appeared on the screen before he switched to the back camera of his phone. He showed Dashiell sleeping peacefully in his bed. There were no cuts or bruises on his face, hands, body, or legs.

After showing all that, he covered my son with the blanket and exited the room. “Master Dashiell wanted to talk to you yesterday. We forbade it. He used his friend's phone to call you and Lionel.”

“Who attacked you?” I asked.

He mentioned the group that had been my nemesis. They couldn't do that in NYC. That was why I was wary w

Please.” I moved my bag to let her sit beside me.“Thank you.” She sat down and put her big bag on her right side. “I should make some milk before my daughter wakes up. She may be hungry.”The baby was small. She might be about four or five months old. The

[Darcy]A baby's cry greeted my return from work. I rushed to the nursery and was touched to see the tear-stained baby. I went over and hugged him. Briefly, he stopped crying and sobbed.“Do you miss Mommy? You know Mommy is coming home, but greet her with your loud voice. Why aren't you laughing? Aren't you tired of crying like this?” I asked. The six-month-old baby just rested his head on my chest. He sobbed because he had cried too much. I went back to work when he turned three months old. That was the only time I could give him my full attention.Keane was like any other baby when his mother was away, but he had a new habit. After he remembered the time I returned home, my son cried. My little one knew when I was coming home. If I were late, he would keep crying until I got home.“You can't go on like this, dear. I have meetings after working hours. I can't come home at the same time every day,” I cooed. My phone in the bag rang. The babysitter took my baby so that I could answer

Keane's favorite stuffed animal wasn't on his bed. Some of his favorite toys weren't on top of the dresser either. I checked his drawers. It was empty. No. Who took my son? Could the babysitter have kidnapped my baby?I rushed out of the room and checked the nanny's room. Her wardrobe was empty. The suitcase she used to carry her belongings wasn't beside the closet either. Oh, my God. It couldn't be happening.I dialed the woman's phone. Hearing the dial tone, I waited impatiently. But until the ringing ended, the woman didn't answer. Olivia didn't pick up after two calls. Shit! Where did the nanny take my son?My phone vibrated as I descended the stairs. Reading the name, I answered immediately. “What did you do to Keane? Where is he!?”“I'm at Channing's house, ma'am. Keane is with me,” she answered.“Oh.” I was stunned. That was right. Maybe Mom asked her to bring my son there because I stayed in Cullen's room. “I'm coming.”I felt relieved knowing my son was in safe hands. Thankfu

[Sinclair]Enzo didn't have to wait long to find out the outcome of our bet. Sean came to the club again to get my answer to his request the night before. He even arrived earlier than the twenty-four hours he had set.Since it wasn't the agreed time, I didn't meet him in his room. Sean needed to know I wasn't his subordinate, whom he could order around at will. Although the legitimate mayor was his party mate, that man would be on my side rather than Sean's.I accompanied my VVIP guests in a special room, watching my dancers perform on stage. I had never been interested in their performances, but Darcy was different. Somehow, I couldn't look away when watching her dance before me.Like Felicia said, her body was curvy. The other dancers were more attractive than her physically. Was it her blonde hair and blue eyes that attracted me? No. Some of the strippers also had the same hair and eyes as hers. The strength was that she was prettier than the other dancers. Growing up in a wealthy

The ladies standing before me moved out of the way.“Meryl and Jean have something to say to you,” Enzo said. The two women elbowed each other, telling their friend to start. I was grateful that they had arrived on time. Everyone could see who was at fault in the conflict between us. I didn't have to bother defending myself or clearing my name.“Darcy, I apologize for taking your money and locking you in the practice room last night,” Jean said. She handed me a brown envelope. “This is your money. Please count it. I didn't take a dime.”I hadn't had time to count the money I'd gotten last night. So, I didn't know if she gave it all back or took a few pieces. But I didn't care about that. My money was back. That was the most important thing.“Thank you,” I said, accepting the envelope.“I also apologize for taking your money and locking you in
