Chapter 39 - The Puzzle Pieces

Regis stared at the diamond earring in his hand, feeling confused. He was sure he had seen it before, but he couldn't recall who it belonged to.

Regis knew that no woman had ever been in the car he was driving. He was a car enthusiast, both then and now, and always treated his vehicles with great care. Some cars were exclusively for his use, including the one he was driving now.

"Are you alright, Sir?"

Albert Parker's voice broke Regis's thoughts. His driver had caught up with him.

Regis saw the worried look on Albert's face as he stood by the car.

"Did you clean this car, Al?" Regis ignored his driver’s question.

Albert nodded slightly.

"Did you see the pair to this earring?" Regis asked, showing the earring to his driver.

Albert tilted his head and then shook it firmly. "No, Sir. I just saw it now," he replied honestly.

'So, the earring fell here and its pair is somewhere else,' Regis thought.
