Sharon slowly opened her eyes, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains and casting a warm glow across the room. She blinked a few times, adjusting to the surroundings before realizing where she was. The events of the previous night rushed back to her, filling her with a mix of emotions—chief among them, embarrassment.

She had been the one to ask for it. The memory was hazy but undeniable. Sharon groaned softly, burying her face in the pillow for a moment as the realization settled in. How could she have been so bold? So vulnerable? Her heart raced at the thought. She didn’t regret it exactly, but the self-consciousness gnawed at her.
